great minds think alike! I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw that transparent TV at CES.

Great tip. I see you got the Tron cab back there.

Thanks - glad it works! Yeah, I finally landed one a couple of weeks back. It's such a fun cab to have.

Haha that’s a funny way of doing it. This definitely would not work for a larger table like Indiana Jones, as you’ll end up so zoomed in on the playfield that you’ll lose everything else, lol. What I like about the new VPX is the windowed camera mode. Adjusting the scale of the table is now in percentage, so most of my tables are at or close to 80%. I’m curious though to see how close in size the digital pinballs are to a real one now - gonna have to hit the hardware store tomorrow 😂

Oh it's not a perfect fix for all tables, but for some it can make a nice difference. And yeah, in VPX I almost always change the POV somehow. I mean once you have that ability, you want to be able to do the same in all vpin programs.

Something that would interest you, Evil G., but off topic for this video: take a glance at "the Qanba 2009". It's a difficult-to-describe _arcade joystick table,_ reflecting a different (perhaps entirely new?) approach to building a home arcade… that will nevertheless cost you a thousand dollars! Footnote: I am _not_ a fan of Qanba, I am actually biased against them (I assume I'd never buy anything they make again after negative experiences in the past, etc.) but I thought they deserved some credit for coming up with something genuinely new and different.

Hey thanks - I'll check it out!

but would that make the whole playfeild shrink/grow and you'll either see black borders or it will expand past the borders?

Depends on the game - some games you can punch in quite a bit without losing any playfield at all. Other games are harder (particularly games that have the ball interact with the rear wall, like LORD OF THE RINGS) to punch into without losing something important. It's not a cure all, but on some tables it makes a big difference.

Sounds pretty expensive and will only supply a limited 3D effect? still cool though but I'd probably go down the Acer SpacialLabs Tech for a more promising route for glasses free 3d IMO. Ultimately it sounds like a combination of lenticular (Nintendo 3DS) and eye tracking for glasses free 3D. Also the Acer tech doesn't seem like it needs too much effort to implement looking at the list of games it already supports (I looked an no Pinball games are currently supported yet).

Oh it'd for sure only be on higher end machines (at least to start). Never heard of the Acer Labs tech - gonna track that down!

@@evilgeniusentertainment Just a thought, because the Acer panel is lenticultar it would specifically need to be made in portrait mode as orientation will matter for the lenticular 3D to work. No idea about viewing angles either so may be some challenges to implement in virtual pinball cabinet mode.. but for "normal" Pinball FX on PC could be cool on it's own without messing around with glasses/AR/VR.
