Thanks for that ....I am off to buy a cast net now after watching your video . So simple when you explain things in a uncomplicated manner . Well done 👍
😛😛. Thanks brother!! If you do anything long enough you’re bound to get good at it. That dang net feels heavier every time though. Getting old brah!!!!
Not for a net this heavy. 11ft 1.65lb is a beast. I love the Striper Soup method for nets up to 8ft. Nothing over your shoulder nothing in your mouth, but I haven’t seen a method for a heavy big net that keeps you dry without a long load time.
We use the Mullet net for Menhaden. They don’t make certain sizes, but we are working on bringing a 10 ft to NY since that’s the size limit up there and some other mesh sizes. This new lead line makes the net so much easier to load. It’s crazy.
Mike, I fish SML using artificials but the live bait guys seem to be eating my lunch. Is the 8 footer 3/8 mesh good for a newbie (and an old newbie at that)
Man I'm digging it big-time I was checking the new style out the otherday. And liked how soft it looked I may be able too throw it twice 😆 send me a 10 fter lol.I was checking them out the other day and was wondering if they would do a custom net for someone with bad back and go like a 1 lb per sq ft.in shallow water it shouldn't matter weight wise being lighter for me because of covering a big area. Also don't know if they make a 3/4 do they or u think 5/8 be good?U know what I like so wonder if I would go to the 1 1/4 mullet net or would it gill hammers?
It will gill net 5-6” Baits. These nets are so heavy I would have no problem throwing a 3/8” for big Gizzards. An 11’ net sinks to 11’ at the same rate as nearly any other mesh, after 11’ it starts to parachute and THEN it slows down so unless you are netting deeper than 15ft of water I would just throw the 3/8”. I used to carry all different mesh sizes, but I mainly just use the 3/8” in freshwater.
Dollars isn't bad sometimes hate gilling them.i knew a 1 1/4 will even gill 9 and 10 inchers its alot easier just opening and dunping Christmas trees are horrible calamities lol
hey mike this is a fishing question not really related to cast nets when you look for stripers on points and inside the points do you look for points that have really tight contour lines or do you look for more spread out lines thanks
I usually like the most drastic points, they come way out and have steep drop offs, but points at the opening of a creek mouth can be the best even if the drop off is not as steep.
I've always thrown a old salt 10' net I see the weights are different on this net does that keep them from getting tangled in the leader lines only happens to me ever once in a while when I catch sticks of the bottom then try to get them out 🤦♂️ and takes me a few mins to get it untangled and right but it will make me frustrated and does it stay soft thanks
If you are using an Old Salt you will LOSE YOUR MIND when you try one of these!! They are the most comfortable net I’ve ever thrown. That lead line system is brand new and makes the net super easy to load and it wants to pop open with lest effort. It’s really something else. You won’t ever regret buying one of these nets. They sink way faster than an Old Salt as well so they will catch a lot more bait. 👍👍👍👍 I throw the 11footer, but it’s quite heavier than an Old Salt 10 footer. If you can throw really well go ahead with the 11, if you struggle a bit go with the 8’ it will still get as much or more bait than the Old Salt 10’ since it sinks a lot faster. These are the two I recommend. They make an even heavier version, but I like these the best. 11 ft Black Pearl Cast Net INVI Series amzn.to/2K58pQa 8 ft Black Pearl Cast Net INVI Series amzn.to/2XGNj2y
