Can't fix Sims 4 no matter what I do? Does The Sims 4 not work AT ALL? Here's how you can get your game back to normal!
Sometimes you might deal with Sims 4 not loading, opening, glitching, not showing your mods and cc... or maybe your Sims 4 UI is not working/ glitching?
Your Sims 4 game can be fixed if you reset your Sims 4 / Electronic Arts folder, but make sure you create a backup beforehand!

Sims 4 doesn't work at all? Well, if you can't fix your Sims 4 no matter what you do, there is one simple way to get your Sims 4 back to normal..
And that is... you guessed it right, resetting your game! You won't lose any Sims 4 saves if you DO backup (copy+paste) your whole Electronic Arts folder somewhere else on your computer and then put your files back in the newly generated Electronic Arts folder!

Sooo my issue is that my sims literally cant do ANYTHING! They'll just stand frozen and whenever i click an interaction it'll x out of it. I reset them multiple times and repaired the game quite a few times but its not working. Any help??

Yesss, we can actually give resetting the Mods folder a try! This means that we're gonna keep our current Mods folder (but sort of like a backup folder if that makes sense) and the game is going to generate for us another one where we will put all of our cc + redownloaded & updated script mods I'll lay out here the steps so it's easier for you, fingers crossed it works 🤞 1. Make sure you have script mods& custom content enabled in your game > close your game 2. Rename your Mods 📂 into Mods old with your game completely closed ( keep your Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on) 3. Open your game & close it straightaway 4. A new Mods folder should pop up 5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder 6. Download the latest versions for your script mods 7. Put your script mods into your new Mods 📂

So my problem is that whenever I tried to play my sim in its household it keeps making me go back to the world select page. Ive tried repairing my game, and making a new game but every household I try to play with it brings me back to the world select page. I've just recently downloaded some expansion packs for free (because I dont have any money to buy them) but I'm not sure if that's the problem. It happened not too long after i downloaded the expansion packs. I looked the problem up and nothing seems to help.

Hey there!! It's always best to remove all of your script mods & install the latest versions whenever an update comes out. If deleting & updating your mods does not work for you, you can try this: 1. Make sure you have mods&cc enabled in your game > close your game 2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (but keep your Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on) 3. Open your game & close it straightaway 4. A new Mods folder should pop up 5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder 6. Download the latest versions for your script mods 7. Put your script mods into your new Mods folder Let me know how it goes!

For me the issue is that scenarios have not worked since they first came. The reason they don't work is because the things you need for you to start don't pop up which makes it so that I can never start the game even if I have met all of the requirements. (sorry if I didn't explain it well but I'd appreciate it if you could help)

Do you happen to use script mods? Did you update your game? If so, did you remove your script mods & install the latest versions for them?

If that is not working, you could try to reset your Electronic Arts folder. Don't worry, I know it sounds a bit scary, but you won't lose anything if you do it as follows! 1. Rename your Electronic Arts folder into Electronic Arts folder (with your game completely closed & don't delete it!!) 2. Open your game 3. Close your game straightaway 4. A new EA folder should pop up 5. Go into your old EA folder > The Sims 4 > Saves > select all files + copy 6. Go into your new EA folder > The Sims 4 > Saves > paste your files The same thing needs to be done with your Tray and Screenshots files (go back into your EA old and copy your Tray files and then paste those into your new Tray folder and so on) 7. As for your mods & cc, please try not to copy any of your old SCRIPT mods. Try to redownload those and then install them into your new EA > The Sims 4 > Mods folder Most of your old cc should be fine, so you can copy those from your old Mods folder. Let me know how it all goes!!

When I load up the game it’s perfectly fine when I build and play BUT when it comes to saving the saving screen loading forever. I’d have to restart my computer and start all of again and all my progress is gone. And my avatar profile don’t show up either in the notifications and in gameplay and in build mode some of the items are blank as well.

Do you play with mods and cc? If so, we can try to remove all script mods, basically the ones that end in ts4script and install the latest versions for them :) There's also this mod that tells you what files (mods/cc) are broken and need to be removed ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WncYhAAtKcM.html If these 2 solutions didn't quite help, we can also try to reset the Mods folder! Just make sure you gave mods and cc on, close your game, rename your Mods folder into Mods old, open your game, exit it and another Mods folder should pop up in there. You can place your old cc in this new one, but as far as script mods go, it's best to redownload & reinstall each and every one ^^ Hope it helps!

My problem is that when I go to mc command center and click- "edit household in cas" It just shows the sim and nothing else. And it doesn't let me exit the game bc nothing works anymore. I haven't tested if it's the same with normal cas editing... But I hope this will fix it, :) _____________________________

I tried all of this but it did not help. The issue I'm having is the last time I was on my game I had the option to load the saved households I have (maybe 10 of them) & then the next time I got on my game, there is no option for a load or resume button. It only gives me the option to start a new game.

Did you reset your folder or maybe move your Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder somewhere else? Are you using a different computer? Can you type in the search bar on your computer 'Electronic Arts' and see if that folder shows up? If so, please try to go into TS4/Saves and see if there are any files in there! If they are, it means that all of your saves are there, but need to be placed into their original location which is Docs/EA/The Sims 4/Saves. Hope everything makes sense, do let me know if you need further explanations :)

You can either: 1. Save your game using the 'Save as' option and create a new save slot for your family > exit your game > launch your game > access the new save slot & see if the issue is fixed Or 2. Hello there! A new error has shown up in the game due to the update so please try to save your game using the option 'Save as' instead of 'Save'! Let me know if it works for you!

whenever i fix it, it only works for 20 minutes and then my sims stop listening and start standing around again or taking ages to respond to tasks. it’s really annoying🥲 ive tried so many different fixes and filtered out all my broken mods and still nothing works, or it only works for a little before it breaks again

The problem for me is I can’t do interactions with other sims like my sim can do anything with her toddler and I tried to repair it like 5 times and idk what else to do i put the files outside of mods I didn’t delete them I just moved them on my Home Screen

Hey there!! Thank you for stopping by, I hope we can fix this issue together 🙏 Soo generally this happens due to broken mods in your game (considering that we've updated the game), are we sure that all script mods (MCCC, more columns, slice of life and so on) are up-to-date? If not, we can try to delete & install the latest versions! One thing that should also help is resetting the sims. We can do that by pressing the keys ctrl shift and c at the same time > type in testingcheats true and press enter Now we can shift click the problematic sim > select reset object (debug). This should def help if we did get rid of the outdated mods!! I truly hope it helps, but do let me know if there's something else we can try!! 🤗

My problem rn is whenever I go into game my sim won’t do what I tell them to for instance I can click on a sim to talk to another and it looks like they are going to do it but then they glitch and won’t do it. And I can’t click on mc command center which is weird because I just updated it could that be the problem btw this is with the new update.

nah because i was trying to play and everything was chaos. they wouldn’t take care of the infant when i asked and i tried to get one of the sims to clean the llama AND SHE WOULD NOT. she kept walking away to go to sleep istg i had a mental breakdown and sold the llama for animal treats. lowk regretting it but my sims don’t listen or gaf if their infant gets taken away so..

i had same issue and tried all suggested things. I took them out and the female sim auto went to the bar started talking to people even stinky tired and hungry...then took her to the gym and she took a shower and it went up hill from there. Communicating or attempts to even if not successful in their invites etc seemed to improve things.

I've tried everything that you said to do but it is still not working. I can't load any of my saves and the settings are not showing up. Could it be possible that there are problems with the package files as well?

So just to be on the same page, did you reset your Mods folder and/or EA folder? Have you also tried to delete the outdated script mods (the ones that end in ts4script & the packages files associated with those mods) & then delete the localthumbcache.package from your TS4 folder?

@@Darielle I have done all those things. Except, I missed one of the package files associated with one of the script mods. Once I removed that one file, my game was back to normal. Apologies, I am quite new to the mod community and wasn’t aware of the problems they could cause; even if it’s just one file. Your videos are helpful, though!

I looked through almost every comment and I haven't seen my problem. Every time I go to load my game it declines and says "Cannot start because game data is missing or damaged. if you have mods installed please remove them and try again. If not, please repair or reinstall the game via origin." I've done literally everything I could possibly do: download 2 cc and mod conflicts. I've also organized all my cc and scanned through each o those for something broken and repaired my game a thousand times but nothing is working. is there anything you'd suggest to help me because I've tried everything and I'm desperate at this point.

Here’s what always works for me! Step by step ✨ 1. Go into Documents 2. Right click the Electronic Arts Folder 3. Rename it into Electronic Arts Old (Keep it there, don’t remove it) 4. Open your game (now it should open since we reset our EA folder) 5. Time to put our files back into the game so close the game completely (you should notice a new EA folder in your Docs, that’s where we are gonna put our files) 6. Go into the EA old 7. the Sims 4 > Saves folder > select all files > copy 8. Go into the new EA folder > TS4 > Saves folder > paste all of your files there 9. The same thing applies to our Tray, Screenshots and cc! So 10. Go into the EA old > TS4 > Tray folder > select all files > copy 11. Go into the new EA > The Sims 4 > Tray folder > paste all files Do the same with your Mods & Screenshots! PS. make sure we don’t copy any mods (aka files that end with ts4script or any kind of functional cc - you can tell by their names, things like restaurant mods, life mods, school mods, toddler mods etc) Clothes, makeup, accessories, build cc can be copied! Once we’re done copying all those files into the new EA folder, we can open the game & it should work! my problem is that my sims were work but no matter what there is no option to woohoo or try for a baby if that makes sense. It's happened with more than one household , there love and friendship could be 100% but still no option

Hey!! Do you use any mods in your game? Is it possible that there are some broken mods in your Mods folder after update? Maybe mcc, ui cheats or maybe a cc bed if you do use those? I've seen this happening to simmers who aged up their sims using mods and so the game might think there's an age difference between those 2 sims if that makes sense, so that could be a reason why it's happening :) We can also try to move out the entire household into another house (preferably a base game one) and see if this fixes the issue! im having several issues 1. the sim always has grey undergarments on. it peeks out if the areas arent fully covered by the clothing 2. the icons on the bottom of the screen (exclusing pause and play) are not there, or messed up 3. this just started today but my game randomly deleted all my saves, so i made a new one but everytime i try to play them, it keeps bringing me back to the world menu 4. only one skin tone works, i cant make any sim lighter or darker please help!!!

Hi! So I tried everything In this video but my game options menu is still not there and then after I look at the option menu all the clickable stuff like exit or save button won’t work so I’m basically stuck in the game and I have to turn of and turn back off to go in my computer. Wow I finally reached a solution. Not sure if this will work for you but my issue was that I was working out of the wrong Mods folder - I guess I had backed up my The Sims 4 folder one day and didn’t realize there was a duplicate (that was the one I was trying to remove mods from). So make sure you’re going to the right Mods folder (probably the one you’d access through ‘Documents’ on your computer), and work from there! Hope this helps!

Hi there!! So after installing the game update, is it possible that some broken/outdated files remained into your Mods folder? Script mods usually pose this issue, so we can try to delete each & every ts4script file (things like mccc, more columns, slice of life etc.) and install the latest versions for them into the Mods folder. I've literally tried everything in my ability to fix my sims. I've gone from video to video and nothing works! I try to save my household after making my sims and it just stays frozen. Even trying to save it to my library doesn't work. When I try to continue after making my sims when it freezes I can still press esc but It wont let me make another household. Hello 🙏 we can figure this out So do we use any mods/functional cc by any chance? Did we remove those & install the updates for them (if there are any)? Besides that, we can try to do this 😃 1. Enable mods & cc in the game, save your options > close game 2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (and keep the Mods old folder there bcs we are gonna use it a bit later) 3. Open ts4 & close it straightaway 4. A new Mods folder should be generated 5. We can also try to remove the game’s cache (aka temporary files created by the game) You can find those in the The Sims 4 folder Those are: localthumbcache & gameversion Additionally, we can also try to delete the options.ini file (this will reset the game options) Open the game, go straight to cas and see if we can save a sim If we can, it means it’s a mod issue (bcs the mods are turned off due to deleting the options file) So we need to identify those broken mods (it’s usually the ts4script files as well as functional cc that cause issues)

I don't think it was a mod issue since I even removed my mods and it didn't work. I think it was more of just the game being all glitchy etc. Especially since after like updates and stuff.

I tried and the only thigs that come up are the same as when you just click on the sim without holding in shift. Hi there! Yes, you actually need to press ctrl shift c at the same time & then type in testingcheats true > enter > ctrl shift c once again to close that command bar. Rename the Mods folder into Mods old (keep the Mods old folder in your TS4 folder) - do this with your game completely closed 4. Launch the game & close it rightaway 6. A new Mods folder should appear in TS4 folder (make sure it has the resource.cfg file inside!) 7. Copy all of your cc - clothes and furniture - (but no script mods or functional cc, things like life mods, restaurant mods etc) from your Mods old to the newly generated Mods folder 8. Download the updates for the mods (if there are any! If there are not, we gotta be patient a bit & wait till those updates get released🙏) 9. Place your updated script mods into your newly generated Mods folder

hey, i have that one problem, that ive created two sims, who i tried to play with together, but i couldnt interact with one another. if i controlled the girl, wanting to chat with the guy, no interaction menu came up by clicking however, if i clicked on the sim itself, i was able to. i checked also with npcs, and there was no problem, i could, interact with them. i also created a new world with the same characters, still nothing worked. it isnt the cc, i had played families with way more cc on them, and there were no problems, except in this game. can somebody help? uptade: i turned off the script mods, but with that i cant use any kind of mods: could be ww, or other mods. they simply dont work. and if i turn the script mods back on, i still cant interact with them

Hiya, this mostly happens due to broken mods So here’s what we can try ✨ - open the mods folder - type in ts4script - write down each mod (on a piece of paper or on your notes) - delete all those ts4script files - search each mod by its name in the same search bar - if any other files related to that mod show up, delete them as well - go into the Sims 4 folder - delete the localthumbcache file (this means we’re clearing the cache aka a temporary file from the game that gets piled up with broken files from those broken mods that we’ve deleted) - google our mods + install the updated ones only After that, we can try to reset our sim in live mode by pressing ctrl shift c at the same time > enter testingcheats true (in the command bar) > enter > shift click the sim > reset object (debug) > ctrl shift c once again to close that command bar Hope I made sense & hope this works for you 🙏

hi i hope you can answer my problem so uhm my sims4 is not working properly after an update when i press the load game and go to my world i can't press on my sims ad the settings are not working like the fast forward and stuff like i can't even press and command my sims it just doesn't let me do it and when i make a new game the screen just turns white and does not function properly and event the game option setting its just plain white hope you can help me thnakss

We can try to reset the Mods folder this way! ^^ 1. Make sure you have mods&cc enabled in your game > close your game 2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (but keep your Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on) 3. Open your game & close it straightaway 4. A new Mods folder should pop up 5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder 6. Download the latest versions for your script mods 7. Put your script mods into your new Mods folder Let me know how it goes!

Soooo I need help my sims screen is just black and I can’t leave I tried everything when I try to let my computer die and when I charge it it still doesn’t work and on the upper left corner I see wicked cc mod I can’t click out of it because I can’t see my cursor I’m really frustrating

my game was fine at first but after I downloaded like 10 new mods it FULLY kicked me out, by that I mean when I click on the sims for app it doesn't load and then goes to orgian, so I try to get on that way but it just exited out..... im really upset :(

If you do use mods, you can try to reset your Mods folder & update your mods. Here's how we can do it: 1. Make sure you have mods&cc enabled in your game > close your game 2. So did it use to be like that before? Did you update your game? You can try to take out your script mods (aka the files that end in ts4script) from your Mods folder and see if your build mode works. If so, you need to download the latest versions for your mods in order for those to work properly

pkz help ive tried every single thing reseting my mods folder, unstucking my sims, updated my mods and checked my cc but it keeps saying "unble to load game" or the sims wont do the interaction like the red feet pops up on their head HELP I TRIED EVERYTHING i just want to dlete sims atp

So if you go into your Origin > Game Library > right click on Sims 4 > Properties > Advanced > is it the legacy edition (x32) that shows up?

I havent watched the video yet but my sims 4 is really messed up! Ive tried everything, I reinstalled origin, I took out all my mods, I updated it, and repaired the game. I want to play it so bad but nothing is working. I tried to join the game but im stuck on the blue screen that says the sims 4. It just says application not responding

@@Darielle I got it to work eventually! I use a mac so there aren't any mods I can use to get rid of my mods. It took me over a day to get everything sorted out. I had to keep separating my mods into different folders and testing them to see if the messed up mod was in that folder. I have almost 10k mods so it takes a while, But your ideo really helped me find out what the problem was! Thank you so much

Soo after installing the update did you also remove all of your script mods (such as UI cheats, MCCC, slice of life and so on) and install the latest versions? It might be a mods issue or a cc issue! If the house you're using seems to be problematic, you can try to delete some (if not all) of the cc used in that house and see if the issue persists! If that does not work, you might wanna try to reset your Mods folder and/ or use a different house! :) Do let me know if you want me to lay out the steps for resetting your Mods folder, fingers crossed some of these tips help you!!

Hey there!! So did you update your game? It's always best to remove all of your script mods & install the latest versions whenever an update comes out. If deleting & updating your mods does not work for you, you can try this: 1. Make sure you have mods&cc enabled in your game > close your game 2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (but keep your Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on) 3. Open your game & close it straightaway 4. A new Mods folder should pop up 5. @@Darielle it didn’t work but I think I did something wrong and didn’t follow the steps right 😅 But I did try to delete The sims and delete Origin Then installed them again And it works I can play the sims finally Thank you for your helpful videos 💕💕
