It’s new wheelbase day. I’ve wanted to try Simucube for so long. This is part 1. Once I’ve used it a bit I’ll do a follow up video on the software and adjustments.
Welcome to the club! I went with Simucube to start because of the reputation it has not only for performance and reliability but customer service too - was worth the extra investment alone!
The joy in your face is a delight in itself. tbh great to see some sim content that isn't delivered by a perfectly formed 25 year old (no offence intended). Can't wait to see you have it all hooked up. tbh I went from my first set-up, a Fanatec CSL belt system, about 6 months ago and jumped on to Asetek, who acquire I believe the base IP of what helps to make Simucube so good. Love the Asetek but as is the sim-racing way half-wished I had held out another 6 months to afford the SC2. Really eager to see your next vid!
@dannymoffatsimracer I'm about 🤏 this close to getting one soon, and going to pair it with the F Core, big money, but I believe my research has led me to this... I heard the F core grips are "very" thin, is this a concern? This was from a video.of a guy who had very long fingers, apparently... Any advice for someone about to pull the trigger on this combo?
@@JACKZERYT I’m not sure about the F-core but I use the F-pro and the grips could be a little thicker. I’ve got massive hands though but they’re still very ergonomic. The build quality of the cube wheels is excellent and I think you’ll be very happy with it.
Have fun with it and some tips: If you have problems getting the QR off and I certainly had that issue, put a bit of lubricant on the base-side. I do this maybe once a year or rather less. If the FFB is a bit overwhelming from it's peak performance and with this small sized wheel rims the leverage is a bit too small for my taste and can get snappy, reduce the slew-rate quite a bit. The VRS is certainly more tame than the SC2 Pro and I guess the Fanatec DD as well, not just because of the 5 Nm more with this one.
Congrats on your departure from Fanatec. I recently did the same and settled on the Asetek Invicta and cant be happier. The Simucube 2 pro was the only other in consideration but the Asetek quick release got me😮. Hope i made the right choice and will be looking forward to your future content. As good as the DD1 is (when it is working properly) i think you will be taken aback by the difference in slew rate and resolution difference. Happy racing 👍👍
I'm doing the same thing even tho I have never had any issues with my DD1 after 3 years however I want something different, I'm also getting the simucube pro with GSI X29 rim as a bundle. good luck with your purchase.
Great choice, looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. I choose the SC pro2 over Fanatec as I didn’t want to be tied into an ecosystem and was happy to used wheels connected via usb. HRS make a nice extension that bolts onto the SC unit.
Nice upgrade!! I've always wanted to try a Simucube but I think I'll be replacing my CSL DD with a Simagic Alpha (maybe Ultimate). Simucube is just a little out of my budget since setting up my rig on Black Friday.
Hi Danny, I love the look on your face when you get it out the box. I moved from fanatec to simucube a couple of years back after issues with my dd1. I would never go back. Simucube is different class. I've had zero issues with mine and I hope you do too. You've definitely made the right choice. I use mine with a cube controls Bluetooth wheel and it's so nice. Hope you enjoy. Looking forward to seeing what you think. Just have to chalk the fanatec experience off as one of those things. At least you warned others with your experience. 👍
@@dannymoffatsimracer yeah. That's a big plus point with simucube. I spend very little time messing with the settings as I use other profiles of people who know more than I do. Dan Suzuki's is good for iracing. ❤️
Awesome! Got my Simucube 2 Pro last year. My first dd wheelbase so can’t compare it to anything else. But I Love it. Yeah I removed that hideous yellow sticker on top of the base. It really triggers me when I see people have left it on lol. Can’t wait to see your video with your thoughts on it. Enjoy!
I just canceled my Clubsport DD+ (tired of waiting and now i will sell all my Fanatec gear) and just bought a Simucube 2 pro and a Cube Control F-pro too lol
Haha i also picked up my simucube 2 pro today. Sold my simagic alpha U to get it and finally no more oscillation without losing details. For wheel i got the fanatec Porsche and Ascher racing button plate🙏
Congrats on the simucube fellow enthusiasts! Fanatec customer service is the key factor why I don't recommend them often, If at all. I enjoy their products very much.. but the couple times I have had to rely on their customer service... it's like pulling teeth... and it stinks. Enjoy your new toy friend!
i really want Simucube or Simagic but unfortunately they aren't console compatible so i have to go with Fanatec, i just hoping i dont go through all the stress like you just to buy one 🙄 but anyway great video as always, peace from New Jersey
When Fanatec gear works it’s really good. My DD pro has been flawless. I’d definitely recommend one of those. The majority of problems are with the DD1. Let me know how you get on and which base you decide on.
Nice upgrade! My CSL DD needs a repair, it came with a defect, I live in the UK, do you think it is likely that I will get it back in a reasonable time after I have sent it off?
@Thatlocomango_392 first impressions are definitely positive so far. I’ll do a more detailed video in about a week once I’ve got used to the software and adjustments
Looking for HONEST comparasion between Fanatec DD1/2 vs Simucube 2 PRO…. I have DD2 now but FFB is tripping lately suddenly on iRacing and don’t know why. I’m on latest 455 Driver.
The only time I saw clipping with the DD1 was if I had the gain too low in fanalab. Once I turned it up to 100% in fanalab and turned it down in the game the clipping stopped.
Hi mate, I did consider all of them, I ended up going with the simucube because a few of my mates had it so we could share profiles and tweaks. I think at this level they’re all probably amazing bases.
@@dannymoffatsimracer yes indeed i am also in a similar boat as you were, i saw dan Suzuki's vid about him comparing simucube, vrs and dd2 and i was looking into either vrs or simucube, both amazing mechanically, but simicube has bettet software and sharing profiles as you mentioned.
@@dannymoffatsimracer well make a review then, I'm sure there's people who would love to know if it tastes good, the texture etc. Double walled cardboard? yummy yummy
