Simucube 2 with Cube Controls wheel and Heusinkveld pedals are just " Fantastic " !! , i came from the other famous brand and will never go back for sure , software who never bug's , just happiness ;)
I have both at the moment, spent allot of time in Sebring (IRacing) and the biggest difference for me is that with Ultimate I can feel slighly better the weight transfer, the tortion of the car and specially the feeling of the rear. I agree that the PRO is already an AWESOME experience, but if money is not a problem, Ultimate is there to please you even a bit more :)
As someone who is waiting for black Friday and to step up to a DD wheel these videos are priceless! I'm still leaning more towards fanatec as I have all the other periferals (pedals, shifter and handbrake) and coming from a T300 wheel base I think it will be plenty strong enough for me!
Astounding videos. 10/10. Very in depth without straying away from the initial subject. I am not sure how much experience you or my fellow viewers have with the Dirt Road side of iRacing, but I am hoping to understand how the Simucube Pro 2 works with the Pro Trucks. Any feedback/comments would be greatly appreciated!
Oof don’t think this turned out to be how the ultimate owners were hoping it would 😅. Great vid I’m sure a lot of us were interested to know and you delivered once again👍
Barries biggest mistake is, that for some reason he’s afraid of comparing products to one another. We viewers desperately need these comparisons as a way to relate to the actual differences, pros and cons. I love Barries reviews, but he really needs to step up his game in this regard.
The higher power levels are massively unrealistic. Maybe the Nm max Nm setting is similiar to real-life but the way in which it's delivered is massively different. The sim-wheel is way too stiff, snappy, accelerative, and has way too much constant force especially when it comes to SAT. It also feels like it's literally being controlled/moved rather than simply reacting to forces acting upon it like a real-life steering system does. I'm a proud owner of the original Large Mige OSW --> software-simulated Simcube 1 --> true Simucube 1 --> Simucube 2 Pro but there are many inherent flaws with the fundamental FFB technology which all wheels/games use. These wheels have so much more potential but the fundamental FFB technology is limiting them and we're trying to compensate with filters (which definitely do help in some ways - like the slew-rate which is a godsend for realism - but they also can have their drawbacks too). There needs to be a revolution in fundamental FFB technology & design rather than the system still used today which dates back to the 1990s and was never meant for high powered wheels like DD wheels, not even close.
Kinda was waiting on this video because I went simucube pro and was hoping there wasn’t to much differents because I was really thinking about cancelling and getting the ultimate but I think the pro will be perfect 👌
hi Will, is there a reason why you run iracing ffb as "strenght" value instead of the usual - and suggested - way for dd which is Nm force? also, you didn't mention what difference does the ultimate filters make, the ones that are just available on the ultimate and not the other sc2 wheels.
I dont mean to be so off topic but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the login password. I would love any help you can give me!
@Cyrus Thatcher thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hey will great video! Definitely helped me confirm about the simucube 2. Just wondering if you are going to include the simagic into the mix against the dd1?
Not yet. Waiting to gain some experience with other similar products so I have a reference point to compare to. Should be happening in the next few months.
I thought you would of compared the Simucube 2 - Sport to the other Simucube 2 wheels before bring the DD1 and DD2 in mix. I think it would make more sense but, it's your channel . I hope you are going to compare all 3 to each other since many of us had asked you to do so. Thanks
Simucube is currently throwing in a free Tahko-21 GT wheel with the purchase of an ultimate. I know you say there’s not much of a difference between the Pro and the Ultimate but would this generous deal lean you more towards purchasing the Ultimate?
Hi, I just wanted to say I love your content but I think one way that would make it more interesting for us would to maybe put a camera so we can see your pedals. Once again just a recommendation and keep up the good content.
Boosted Media ok sorry this is the first video I have seen of yours in a while and just thought that the cameras would be the same in every video not just the driving ones.
Now after using Simucube 2 Sport and Simucube 2 Pro in max slew rate and max torque, I find too much difference. If you do the testing in same newton meters with same slew rate then you feel zero difference. I think Will, u need to update this video with Part 2 because it is wrong to compare like this. You need to make them %100 in Truedrive and Maximum slew rate, then you need to decrease the ingame gain so that you can hold the wheel (strength/maxforce in iRacing). And I see so much of Static Force Reduction that you must not go up than %20 then it becomes so numb so you cannot feel any turning the car in-corner details. I believe that if you do test all of the bases in 12 Nm with same slew rate then all are same, but you need to do it like what I explained above and make the ingame gain differently so that you don't hurt yourself.
Great video mate. The Ultimate is hard to justify, but it's nicer aesthetically, so compact! Do Simicube require an adaptor if using a Fanatec Formula V2 wheel?
Thanks for the great vid! My Simucube Pro 2 that I ordered back in March finally turned up yesterday. It seems great but with iRacing I get massive FFB when braking (to the point that it shakes my whole rig), it's really odd. In the FR2.0 it's basically unusable unless you turn the FFB strength way down to the point it's way too low. Any ideas? I had the same thing with my G27 and hoped it would go away with the Simucube... Second question, on one of your last videos you had the strength turned up and also the static force reduction so you could have more detail but less force for turning but it looks like you have the static force reduction turned all the way down for iRacing... curious why this is?
Boosted Media thanks, I'll take a look at that one and see how I get on. I thought I had settings pretty much the same as yours and have tried various other settings without any luck...
@@davefellows Sounds like your brake discs were warped. Did you ever get them resurfaced or fit new ones to cure the braking shudder? Oh, sorry, wrong channel. Sim racing is so realistic these days! 😋
Are there any good Simucube profiles for the new Forza Motorsport yet? I’m still very new to sim racing; Just returned my first DD wheel, a Fanatec GT DD Pro, after the shaft’s usb connection kept disconnecting.. so I’ll have only had 2 days on a DD when my Simucube Pro and Tahko wheel arrives tomorrow.
Hi from France Will ! Can you share your TD and ingames settings for each games you test ? I ve watched the video where you explain all the TD settings and i woud like to have a base to begin. Thx. Keep on the good work !
@@boostedmedia yes, but i have problems with ingame settings. I have my simucube pro since a couple days ;) Do you plan to make a video based on ingame settings ? I copied your settings for iracing and i find them perfect. AC and AMS 2 i can't find good ingame settings yet. I have to watch your TD setting video again ;P
Other than the max torque the main point of difference between the 3 SC2 models is the torque slew rate adjustment but you turned it off in your test. Admittedly not much diff between the Ultimate (9.5Nm/ms) and Pro (8Nm/ms) but would be interested to see how much a difference this makes between the sport which I own and which only has a max torque slew rate adj of 4.8Nm/ms. However the main purchasing conundrum with SC2 is not Pro v Ultimate it is Sport v Pro given the huge cost of the Ultimate and most people go for the Pro over sport purely because it only costs EUE150 more. I agree with you that the ultimate is more suited for a commercial enterprise which is probably why the warranty is 60months as opposed to 24 months. Great original content by the way, I was beginning to think that with your product reviews and taking apart the hardware you were becoming too much like the legend Barry Rowland.
I of course tinkered with the slew rate adjustment in my extended testing. As I said in the video, the slew rate of the ultimate can be adjusted to match that of the pro for a smoother feel. But I didn’t feel the additional response capability of the ultimate really added anything significant to the overall driving experience. Thanks for your kind words. I think it’s important to still capture that raw first impression.
Hey again, part 2 even better than part 1! It's really interesting that the lesser inertia bases got lesser slew rates... Completely opposite of simucube 1 small mige vs large mige (small one is "jumpy" and more reactive, large is slower and has "natural" damping). Would it be possible to make a comparison between simucube 1 and simucube 2? Can't wait to see the sport in action, For Science!
whats your opinion on brake stiffness? I picked up some BJ simracing pedals and they come very stiff from default, maybe 1-2 inch of travel with a 200kg loadcell.
Can you put the perspective on something I know, have you driven a kart and how does the 25nm compare to kart driving? The only reason I use karting as a comparison is that's about the only thing I driven where my arms ache.
Yeah I’ve spent a bit of time in karts. If I had to guess I’d say they’re probably around 15-20nm but that’s just an estimate. Obviously depends on the track surface, camber, etc.
He must not have a big graphics card as there is no eye candy in the stand just a basic look but, he is also running 3 monitors. I'm not sure what his FPS are. I run 3 32 144Hz monitors with a 2080TI and I turn it up as high as I can still running 120 FPS. I need more than a 2080TI because I'm not able to run with the best settings but, it looks much better than this.. 3080 series coming soon. LOL
Classic silverstone is a very plain track. I have graphics pretty much maxed out in iracing. However for testing I usually turn things down a bit just so I’m guaranteed to sustain 100FPS (marching the native refresh rate of my monitors). I’m running a resolution of 10320x1440 and my system specs can be found here: boostedmedia.net/technology/boosted-media-ultimate-gaming-pc-system-specs/
Wears a glove and says bumps don’t feel so sharp. What a noob move. Would u run your hand on your gf and say her skin is soft with gloves on. Such comedy. Max and lando don’t use gloves but this guy knows better
When you have no idea but decide to post anyway, lets start with he is using gloves with both tests, Max and Lando probably would use gloves when using a wheel that is designed to be used with gloves.
