I started with one AP and then 3-4 months later I bought the second AP. This peripheral is something else. I do recommend the same path you mention, brake then anything else. I do have a motion platform as well and honestly I will go first for an AP over a motion any day of the week.
Great to hear an experience from someone who has some. I have a question that I couldn't really answer. What effects do you feel on the accelerator pedal? Possibly also when you have spinning wheels? Can you also feel when you have a standing wheel innthe braking phase? Personally, I would have go for the motion system first (I have DBox myself). But it would have been a close call
So you are not that impress with your motion platfrom. What motion do you have?.. I'm very happy with my Asetek Invicta pedals. I'm not interrested in AP until there are more mature and lower price from more competition but i'm considering buying a active seat mover.
Wow glad I saw your comment! I just ordered the active pedal + passive throttle. I’m gonna return my HE ultimate +. As much as I love them can’t justify keeping it just for throttle. Also I do not have motion rig so happy to read better to get active pedal before motion!
@@mannyfresh7065 yep! It makes much more sense to me, but do not get me wrong having motion is insanely fun and immersive but if you need to prioritize I believe AP over motion first would be the way to me. Hope you like them as well 🙌🏻
@@LetsGORACE-LH Sorry I didn’t reply earlier, I didn’t see this comment. It depends on the simulator; you will have different effects, but for example, in iRacing, the effects you have are not all that I would like to use. For instance, the traction control. This throttle really gives you unparalleled consistency because you can configure it exactly as you would like (when and how it will react). Additionally, you have the vibration of the engine, which I personally really enjoy. In theory, this is something that will only get better, and now that I see that five months have passed since this comment, I can tell you that the pedal software has done nothing but improve the sensations of the same. Of course, I still think that the brake is the best option as a first purchase, since you can configure it as any other type of pedal, whether it’s an accelerator, clutch, or brake, and decide if it’s what you want in your equipment for the future. Starting with the brake, I believe you get an idea of the evolutionary leap, which means having this type of peripheral in your cockpit. Best 🙌🏻
I’m looking at building a set of hydraulic pedals for about $1k usd using some Willwood pedals and some SimCoaches hydraulic slave cylinders. Dang 5k could get you so much in terms of wheelbase, shifter, and pedals. Like a BDH or Quaife shifter, which is what I’d love to justify for myself. 😂 The tech is simple, the implementation is difficult, but not impossible, and I imagine that as there becomes a market, the price will get driven down to the point where you can buy an active brake pedal for $500 or less.
