In his 1973 comeback, he sounded Xlint. One year later he gained 15 lbs, let his hair go grey and didn't sing as well for years. '79-'85 he looked and sounded better than '74-77. He even took voice lessons, got in shape, cutback on cigs for the "New York, New York" time period. Amazing man and beautiful performance at the White House...

@@ricklopez2314 He temporarily gave in to age. He voice sounded very rough in 74. His “sand” from smoking became pronounced and the differences is sound and looks showed a dramatic change. He could not fit in the ‘70’s then by 1980 he realized his identity...”The Great American Songbook..”...
I chatted with Bill Miller one night after a concert just for a couple of minutes.He was nice amiable and said he liked coming to the UK and London.This was in 1989 at the Docklands Arena.Bill Miller always looked a bit bewildered when you see him conducting or playing for the Boss.From what I have read his relationship with Francis Albert got a little tempestuous at times and there was a period when they did not speak for several years.But both now have left us and the world is poorer for it!
