I just purchased this gun and I am running a Batocera 37 image on my rPi 4B+ overclocked. Out of the box it sucked. This video helped a ton. I dimmed the brightness on my tv, held left and centered it a few times, now it works great. LOVE the recoil function. Feels like I’m really playing the T2 cab. Thanks!
the reason the cursor is bouncing around all over the screen has nothing to do with calibration. it happens because the camera in the gun is losing the white border for a split second. reflections on the screen will cause that. you can choose a thicker border in settings and it should work better. another option is to play around with brightness, contrast, exposure settings, but im not sure how to do that on batocera. on windows its much simpler using the sinden software. as a 1st step i would change to a thicker border and see if there is an improvement (there should be).
Tekno Parrot emulator is where its at :) My son and I have a blast playing Transformers, House of the Dead 4 and Luigi's Mansion arcade versions. The accuracy is perfect even 15ft away from our 65" TV.

Miss Point blank series, spent many hours on these back in the day, recommend Elemental Gearbolt on PS1 music alone, is worthy. Thanks again, you've made my day! 😁
Quick question… is the batocera only a one player kind of thing? Cuz I bought two guns. I don’t really wanna rebuild another cabinet solely for shooting games, but I will if I have to. I kind of just want to add them to the sides of my existing cabinet. But it seems like it’s a tough road to do it like that. Awesome video thanks
This is definitely the only gun I'll ever need... now that I know this gun well.. it sets up super easy for over 2oo games randomly...it is my new best friend lol..nothing will be hard once you understand boarders....)
One thing I remember about time crisis on ps1 (not 2 or 3) was that if you placed the player 2 controller on the ground upside down since it sat on a angle you could place your foot lightly down on the X, O , triangle and square buttons simultaneously and that would work just like a pedal in the arcade. I can’t find any info on it but it definitely worked for me. Can you confirm if this works.
I do not recommend adding anything because on lateral movement, it might just cause it to not see the border and it will assume it's being pointed offscreen. That messes with the tracking badly. Honestly the lights dont have to be that dim for it to work properly. I get some sunlight on my gameroom but as long as your screen is bright enough it will track fine.
I’m just thinking how much the white borders are gonna annoy me, is the SINDEN gun the best choice (I’m gonna do alla This on steam deck) I saw some homemade a e.g. wiimote and receiver bar/guncon but no idea how you would set those up for pc
It's accurate and lower cost. But it's also the only one not needing any sensors, leds or extra cables, etc... Just a border. To be honest, you forget the borders are even there once you're playing.
Most light gun games are 2 players but I don't have much experience with using 2 players. I've always used the Wii remote with the sinden gun and they work great but never used two of the same before as I just don't have two of the same to test it.
Most arcade cabs have 2 player. Lethal Enforcers, Terminator, Jurassic Park. Most work well, but there are some like LA Machine Guns, that still have 2p Issues and can only really be enjoyed 1p. I play Confidential Mission on Naomi with my kids 2p all the time.
Does the gun work on v33 ???I bought a Kinhank Portable 2TB HDD and it sucks , it doesn't let you enable a graphics card by editing the boot conf # file. It just won't boot when the nvidia #(s) are deleted. Running with my ryzen 3600 cpu graphics sucks, I'm even thinking of updating to v35 and risking bricking the system.
I have 34 on mine and I like it better than 35 purely because I have switch on mine and I couldn't get switch working on 35. Beyond that though I've found 35 to be very stable and runs very well. More settings adjustments can be made there too. Updates are always scary though. You never know what's going to mess up. Not saying go ahead because I didn't update from the same version you have and we don't share the same setup so you just never know. I don't want to be the bad guy if it doesn't pan out haha.
@@RetroGamingGuy Ok, thanks . Have you been able to enable your discrete graphics ? I have an R5 laptp with an RTX2070 and it's frustating the graphics card can't be enabled on the boot by removing the # either or both. I am thinking of cloning my Kinhank Portable to another HD using Reflect and then trying to update to v35.
You can't brick Batocera (thankfully this is not retropie lol). Just plug the HDD while running windows to see the Batocera partition, and you can drag and drop the files and rewrite those files. You can easily upgrade and downgrade. Easier method is just try updating from within batocera.
@@retroman-- I tried updating from the Update menu to V35 and it always gets stuck after downloading 950Mb , I think the idiots at Kinhank disabled updates. I checked and the Batocera partition has 6GB with 3GB remaining but it won't get past 950mb of download , the right corner update counter will freeze.
I had the same problem. I thought it was system issue and tried multiple times reinstalling and removing the # without any luck. I finally got it to work by downloading "notepad ++" and using that to edit the file. Try that instead however u may need a new config file.
I'm having little to no luck with my sinden light guns. I've installed batocera 35. Plug the gun in it recognizes and puts the border up. I played one game and the cross hairs were all over the place regardless of if the room was lite/dark day or night. I attempted to hold the left d pad to calibrate and now the crosshairs only responded to d pad. Any ideas?
Doesn't work for those at least in batocera anyways as of right now. Hoping to see that change with a future version. Dying to be able to play time crisis 2
@@RetroGamingGuy update, i finally got it to work today on pcsx2 emulator. on the sinden configuration screen go to ''button assignment'' and for the one that says ''trigger'' set it on ''mouse right'' n make sure to save settings. i played time crisis 2 just now n it work, u just don't know how freakin happy i am now.
Anyone able to get the ps1 games working other than time crisis? On batocera 35 The retro lizard 128gb build is nice but most of the ps1 games will not work. Most go to the main start screen but will not go further.
Wow thanks for this truly great demo of the Sinden RGG …hopefully setting up the crosshairs will definitely help me and looking forward to the Wii comparison as well. Remapping the reload isn’t a pain I hope . Just wonderful tutorial buddy
In controller settings/Sinden. You can also change the recoil and when the border appears if you are on the beta. Also, in the beta there's an option in I think developer settings to adjust the speed of the cursor.
@@MobileDecay That's good to know! Hey do you know how to get the recoil working? I just got a sinden gun in today with recoil. Previously I've been using a nonrecoil sinden gun. The recoil one though doesn't actually recoil when I plug it in. I assume I have to make some adjustments in the settings to enable it? Do you know anything on what needs to be done?
@@RetroGamingGuy Go into controller & bluetooth settings/Sinden gun settings/recoil. The first time I tried it it didn't work but then it started working after a few hours for some reason.

I should point out for your viewers that the Batocera experience is compromised at the moment compared to other options. Accuracy, speed and calibration are noticeably below par. I have mine rigged up to a PS2 and it is comparable to a real GCon2
Yeah it's not perfect but I did mess with the calibrating quite a bit after this video and I got the accuracy on point. It did take several attempts to sight it in perfectly but I found that it started to get off its mark after about 10 min then I had to recalibrate it again in game. Speed is a bit slow too as you mentioned but for more retro games it's fine. I'm sure this will improve with time and updates.
I think it works better outside batocera where you can tweak it more. I'm doing a video comparing it to a Wii remote....honestly my opinion and I know it's not the popular opinion because so many love sinden....Wii remote is way better and a fraction of the price. Ae LIghtgun is better too
This isn’t a Sinden light gun issue, it’s a Batocera issue. If you use the officially supplied Sinden software and calibrate the emulators individually, the Sinden is super accurate. I really like what Batocera are trying to do here but it’s way off the mark at the moment. I have got Wiimotes, Aimtraks and Gun4ir here. The Sinden is many times better than the Wiimotes and the Aimtraks and on par with the Gun4ir.
