That's what made her so special, she wasn't afraid of the so called "ugly vocals", and sang them to their full capacity, which most singers nowadays are afraid of, especially female singers.....

Prince wrote this song in 1984. Sinead O’Connor did this cover version in 1990. It went to no.1 in the UK charts and no.1 in 18 other countries. She tweaked the script slightly to make it a female version. The part she had tears in (All the flowers you planted, Mama, in the backyard) was thinking about her mum, who died in a car crash three weeks before. She had a very difficult life with her mum, and wanted to forgive her, but it was too late. All the other lyrics of this song (written by Prince) wasn’t about her life. She chose this song because she loved it herself. You pronounce her name “Shin-aid”

This is definitely not 3 years ago. This is when she was in her prime. She has been retired for quite some time now. Prince wrote this song. You should listen to his version sometime. She blew this song out of the water though. She is from Ireland. An amazing talent!! Edit: you mentioned the Mother Mary on her jacket. She was a very outspoken Catholic and often spoke out against organized Christianty religion. She did this on Saturday Night Live back in 1992 and about ruined her career. She got a lot of backlash about that. You should watch the clip on RU-vid sometime. She has since converted to Islam and changed her name to some Islamic name. When she does perform though she still goes by her birth name of Sinead.

The video was uploaded three years ago. It's irritating that they didn't add the date and location of the concert. I suspect Dublin. It's her home town. This is her version of a Prince song.

It's Chile and 6 songs of it are on YT. I highly recommend it although the Mike/ sound balance was shocking with piano too loud and she was freaking out over it you can see. It's why she had to belt this out! There are wonderful moments in the concert. They were only just out from military Dictatorship.
