I've heard Tim's growls so many times that it doesn't surprise me anymore, for me the craziest part is the fact that Tim looks exactly the same as he does now whereas Geoff looks noticeable younger
That's not the lowest note I've ever heard, but BOY is it my favorite. I'm sure I've rewound the 10-second reveal of that note hundreds of times. The brief silence to all look at Tim, the judges' reactions, the screams of the crowd... Magic
@@gregw9351on Voiceplay’s channel they have a song “just sing” that is just a big collaboration with a bunch of people, and tim and geoff have a small back and forth in there :)
I can't believe the talent here! I play in a band where everybody sings harmonies in every song, and this just blows me away...... makes me cry too! Fantastic!!!
I think Nick's reaction was so great. You could tell he was just so tickled by the performance ❤️ Because he KNOWS how incredible that kind of range is. Even though he's supposed to be an unbiased host, he was visibly impressed 🥰
I remember 1 time that I heard amazing singing on TV that made my jaw drop. Hearing Adam Rupp crazy percussion on this was that time and it is my favorite sing off moment in history.
Oh - then you're in for a great ride! Maybe you'd be interested to watch the completee Sing-Off shows to get a feel of the other groups on the show as well? I really like to watch them from time to time (and to see the difference between Home Free and a lot of the other groups even then). Don't get me wrong - some of the other groups weren't bad but (in my opinion) not on the same level as HF. I have the complete shows uploaded to my channel too, though unlisted at the moment. Maybe it's easiest to check them out in the playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLJmdJ9nIx082U5S5RJ1ciqVNhdYU-jjRO I just couldn't upload the complete shows in the higher quality these separated clips are (maybe due to the size of the file)
This was my absolute favorite music talent show. They actually use complete voices for everything and use complete talent. I miss it . I picked Pentatonix as winners.
I listened to this with headphones & when Tim hits those low notes my bones actually vibrate so much I look around to see if the house is shaking from a small earthquake, lol
When I listened to Long Black Train with Chris and Tim I was freaked out once because I was nervous their notes would break my ipad 😨😂 (thankfully not. 🤣) I remember watching this performance on TV when I was 13. That was the first time I was stunned and my jaw dropped because of Adam’s amazing percussion. I was like 🤯🔥😱😁🙌.
@@shanty9322 You mean beat boxing? Adam Rupp is very good, and has been a world champion twice.... but he didn't start it. Beat boxing has been around for hundreds of years and started mainly with the African tribes. Over time, it has migrated to modern music. But it is certainly not new.
@@LadyDragonsblood Do you mean human voices mimicking instruments or other things like bird song or battle sounds? It was done a lot in the early Renaissance, for example by Janequin.
They didn't really showcase Avi of PTX much -many have said as much. Mostly saw the blonde-haired front man of PTX singing & not much bass--compared to Home Free, that is.
I'm a bassy baritone, but I can go that low like Tim👀. I wonder what's going on with his vocal chords on him hitting that last note. That last note was in the depths so much that your kind can't fathom😯
@@LadyDragonsbloodit’s technically not - I’m a low Bari singer, and go down to about D2/C2, but growling/subharmonics aren’t technically singing as it’s a different technique
I can’t watch Home Free’s Sing-Off performances any more. HF 2021 Edition just makes them sound so amateurish. Imagine “Man of Constant Sorrow" on the Sing-Off (a _harmonica?!_ WTF!?!) - the season would have ended right there.
I still love their Sing-Off performances, but I see what you mean. I love the direction they've gone since Chance joined the group. I'd love to see Chris Rupp (esp. as their founder) return to the group, but Chance adds another dimension to their sound that they didn't have before, and I LOVE Chance's solo voice. I hope he doesn't go ANYWHERE! They have matured quite a bit since these performances, you're certainly right there!
Turn your subs a bit to0 high even in this playback and Tim will blow your Woofer out. No Joke! BTW This is not a 'Low Growl" note, if you listen close there is no Fry'ing going on with his voice he's hitting it clean which only a Bass Profundo can do at these low ends. The other 2 styles of Bass Singers can all hit lows but most have to use a little Fry to get there, Tim does this clean all the way down an E1 which is serious low as this was an F1 or F#1. Most Bass singers can get to A1 and even at times use Frying to get there, not Tim! Great performance by the group they nailed this song!
Saw them in Gulf shores few years ago. Awesome.. but Jewel is surprised at 3 octaves? Lol Dimash covers 6 octaves maybe 7. She needs to broaden her knowledge. 🤷♂️
You would think that the girl on the panel would, since she is in the music business, know how to pronounce the word “octave.” Obviously a product of our public schools.
She moved out on her own at the age of 15 and was homeless by 18. Taught herself how to play guitar, sing, write music, etc. She probably saw it in print and sounded it out and got it stuck in her head with a long A. It happens with people who are self-taught. I'll note she correctly identifies Tim's low note here just by ear. But do go on mocking a woman who raised herself out of poverty and homelessness to selling millions of albums through gritty determination and hard work.
@@lrfcowper I agree. I dont listen to her music but I definitely respect her for her determination and willingness to do what she did and is where she is now.
@@lrfcowper Thanks for the entertainment and thanks for making my point, once again. You are obviously a product of the public schools as well. You need to look up the meaning of the word mock. And you certainly missed the point of my original comment. It’s so much fun listening to you millennials get indignant and insulted about every little thing. It’s been fun. Over and out. I know you will have to Google the meaning of those three words. After all, again, you are obviously the product of our quite sorry public schools.
