I just loved seeing a happily married black family who travels together. Not only open minded, but two parent households are key for a strong family. Love your videos. I just got into the points game. I already got 83k avios 😂

Points to improve as SQ frequent flyer: -Amenity kits are upon request. -SQ offer Book The Cook for special meal and inflight meals. If you still not satisfy with your meal, told the crew. -Basinet points are 768mm (L) x 298mm (W) x 158mm (H) up to 14 kg. The points doesnt measure the height, basinet is. -No body can read your mind, you have to speak up if you need anything. Crew are there to help

Singapore Airlines slippers and amenities are on request and even for economy, tooth brushes etc are in the restroom, you can also Book The Cook and pre order all your, but catering out of US is not so good, FYI, nice to see another African American getting those points and miles, also interesting note Director of Inflight services is African American 🥰 When you have a minute take a look at their "Book the Cook Menu, not only is your. meal made especially for you it's freshly made that day. Give Singapore another chance because their service is usually great!

Good to know! I'm saving up for the suites so I'll definitely use the Book the Cook.

@@PointsDivaOh that should be phenomenal, I've seen the JFK-FRA suites for as little as 75K miles, I've subscribed and can't wait to see your next trip. Safe ravels 😇

@@PointsDiva Book the Cook has lots of neat Asian dishes, Lobster Thermador, etc, Emirates and Qatar copied Singapore and kind of out did them in some ways however Singapore service tends to me consistent and elegant where as Emirates. can be sort of hit or miss even in business.The middle eastern airlines being closer to Europe and Asian took it to the next level. The suites class as Lalique amenilty kids but I have been traveling SIA for years and they were never about the amenity kit thing and just always stocked their restrooms, they also have goodie bags for the kiddies, enjoying your channel

Great review and amazing tips for traveling with a baby. We're flying Qatar Business in August with our kid who will be 5 months then. We used BA Avios points for the trip. 13hrs to Doha and 9hrs to Johannesburg. She'll still be on breast milk/formula.

That's the perfect age to travel with kids. They should sleep most of the flight. Check out my Jo'Berg video if you guys will be there for a little while.

I’m so surprised about your comments on the food. I wonder if you chose badly (western food) or if it’s the route you went on, as their Asian food especially their curries are renowned for being amazing. Also, it’s untrue that most business class have pyjamas - they don’t do that often these days. I do agree it’s a shame they don’t have an amenity kit though as that makes a difference.

Just FYI, American no longer allows lap infants for award flights on Qatar. Seems like a lot of people have hit this wall starting a few months ago.

Super helpful and great information here, thank you for this! We are a family of 3 looking to travel to Asia as well using our points. How far in advance did you book? And how old was your baby boy when you travelled at this time?

Could you clarify if the card offers you quote are available in countries other than the USA? I could be wrong but I don’t think that these offers are available everywhere.

Just curious how you got the seat with the bassinet. Did you book the award flights and then call to get the bassinet? Did they then charge you for the lap seat? We're flying the same route as you next year with a 6 month old. Thanks and great video!

I tried calling the airline to book it with no luck. They sat me on the first row so I could request it at check-in. For the lap seat, they charged 10% of Adult Fare of $349.30. Have a great flight!

What stroller did you use? Can you place it in the overhead compartment?
@PointsDiva
@PointsDiva Год назад
We use the GB pocket city. It folds small enough to fit under your seat or overhead. It's great and compact for traveling.
@leez273

Good review however just one observation. You could be misleading your subscribers when assessing the roominess and comfort of your seat as rows 11 and 19 (which allow for mothers with babies) are very comfortable and have a huge leg rest directly in front of you but with all other seats in business class on the A350 the leg rest is angled away from your sitting position and are simply uncomfortable! In fact you have to twist your lower torso while your back remains straight to utilise the leg rest!! Bizarre to say the least.

We're going jfk to sin on SQ biz class with a 21 mo old, in lap, and terrified. Any tips? Did you take turns eating? Any suggestions to make it more comfy and tolerable for us and the toddler? Were you really able to sleep?
@PointsDiva
@PointsDiva Год назад
Yes we took turns eating if the baby was awake. Just make sure you both put your order in in case they run out of something. Make sure you baby is as comfortable as possible. Also check out my tips on traveling with a baby video. Good luck and you can do it!

Not to appear rude, but I wish people flying with small children would consider other passengers, and reconsider their travel.
@PointsDiva

Should we not travel until they are adults and not expose our kids to the world? There are too many close-minded people in the U.S. who have no clue of the world outside of their bubble.
