Thank you so much. I’m 34 and haven’t used a sewing machine since I was a teenager lol. My kids wanted me to see them a plus doll so I purchased this having no clue how to thread my machine. You’re a life saver, thanks!
I just bought one second hand, I really wish I got all those extra goodies. But I really can't complain because it was only $20. Thanks so much for the tutorial
Thank God for RU-vid and for you uploading this video. I got my Singer sewing machine today June 13 2020 and I didn't know where to begin since I didn't get an instructional guide just the quick tip guide. I dealt with sewing machines in the past but older models. I wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing with this model. Bingo thank you so much for a great tutorial. I couldn't have done it without you. I am very happy now 🤗❤
Thank you so much 😊 It will be really helpful for me in the future, Igot my singer 3337 today. And I didn’t know how to use it After watching your video, now I can use it. Thank you so much for posting this video ☺️🥰
Omg one of the best videos. Mom gave me her machine but no instructions no adds 😭 I’m lost cause I can’t do it I guess the machine had a problem. I can’t thread the needle and when I did finally is not working 😭 looking for more videos asap thanks for this one! I’m in it
WOW! Machines have come a long way since the time I was learning on my mom's Westinghouse (she was a professional seamstress). But I learned a lot of bad habits (pulling the fabric). Maybe I had to pull because of the way the Westinghouse sewed?!? Anyway, I'm going to make some masks and later tackle some curtain hems. I really want to get a computerized machine and maybe a serger (scared to death of sergers, but I'll survive ;) I have sewn on many, many machines over the years and THIS ONE is truly easy, and fun. Also, I'll try my hand at embroidering. Have fun folks!
Thank you so much for the instructional video. This is my second sewing machine. It is replacing a brother machine that has been discontinued sadly. I have been really missing my machine. So happy to do finally get another one. The only question I have is are we supposed to hold the thread from the back until it makes a few stitches, then let go? I had to do that with my other one. If not it would bunch up the thread. Thanks for the answer from anyone who wishes to answer!! Looking forward to using my new machine 😁❤️
This is great, thank you so much for posting this. I am the proud owner of a new Singer 3337, my very first sewing machine ever! I'm scouring RU-vid for all the info I can get and feel so much more comfortable with my machine now! There are other pieces that came in the little compartment that I have know idea how to use - any idea where I can find a tutorial on those? I've got a little silver corner piece, two more presser feet (a clear plastic one with blue, and a silver one with indents on either side instead of a whole in the middle), a long silver bar, a black plastic plate, a white plastic stick with a star-ish shape on the end, and a soft white round bit of fabric with a whole in it. Thanks for any help you can offer!
Hi Laura! We're happy that this helped you. We do appreciate the feedback. As for the other pieces, it would be best to refer to your manual, that can be found here: www.singer.com/support. Once you know the pieces, you can always come back to our RU-vid channel to see if we do have a tutorial on them. Also, if you look at the bottom right of this page (www.singer.com/Simple-3337-Sewing-Machine?search_referer=global_search) you will see a "Manuals, Quick Guides and Videos" section; this will be a good place for reference. Thank you! -TB
Finally! I saw this machine at Walmart a week or two ago and it was still "coming soon" on the Singer website. Very happy to see this as I'm torn between this and another model. I emailed Singer support last week and got no response, maybe you (or someone) can tell me the total weight of the machine?
Thank you for the video! It was really simple to set up my sewing machine and practice some stitches and switching out the presser feet. The only part I had trouble with was threading the needle because the hook pin was not lining up perfectly with the needle hole.
Loooved your class you made it so understandable. My only wish was you’d show how to sew the buttons. Do you have another video that shows how to do that on this machine model?
Good tutorial but it's missing something like sewing buttons, attaching zippers, and making a hem like in the previous tutorials. Anyway, a good, simple, and informative tutorial to start with.
Thanks for the helpful video! I think I need to replace my bobbin case. When I wrap the thread through that last part where the thread is cut, I feel a lot of resistance. And the thread doesn't always draw up when I pull on the upper thread. I took it out of the machine and I think something is wrong with the tension screw. Is there a list of part numbers available? Specifically for the bobbin case? Thanks!

Thank you for sharing. I haven't sewn since high school (1992). I just purchased this machine to start a old hobby again. Your video was a nice refresher. Which stitch would be closest to a server stitch on this machine? Thank you.
Hello Sonia! Thanks for reaching out! Any of the zig zag stitches are great 'serger' like stitches, along with the stitch referenced at the bottom of page 22: res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/v1572777455/Singer-Website-Library/Manuals/Products_manuals/SINGER_3337_SIMPLE__Sewing_Machine_crjvig.pdf. Do I have to rethread the bottom bobbin every time I pull out the fabric ? I’m new and I can’t find a video of my machine m3220 this is the closest I can find and I’m a little lost about the bottom bobbin mine doesn’t have an automatic threader
Hi Diana, As long as you have thread in the bobbin and the thread is coming up through the opening in the needle plate, you are ready to sew. No need to bring up the bobbin thread every time you re-thread the needle. For further assistance, please contact our Customer Care Team at 1-800-474-6437 or email them here: www.singer.com/email-us/. Thank you!

The top drop-in bobbins are newer, but it's good to know how to sew with both types of bobbins. Some people prefer the top drop-in bobbin because they feel it's easier to insert--especially as a beginner. However, some people will prefer to sew with a machine that takes a front-loading bobbin because they feel it sews slightly smoother. We hope this helps! 😊 -AR
@@SingerSewingCompany wow! Great to know ☺️ im actually a begginer and using a front-load bobbin. But hopefully will upgarde to newer machines. THANK YOU FOR REPLYING ❤️
i bought a refurbished machine and everything seemed to work fine but when i try sewing, the stitches on the back of my fabric becomes uneven and has loops. i've rethreaded my needle correctly and adjusted the tension dial but i'm still having the same problem. how do i fix this?

@@briandaNana Hi! Please check page 8 of the owners manual. It should show where they are. New machines should all come with the spool and bobbin pin. Thanks! -TB
Hello Amanda! If you're referring to the 'cones' of thread, there are aftermarket products that can be purchased to set the spool of thread off on the side/behind the machine. Thank you! -MM
I just purchased mine last week at Walmart and I unpacked it a few days ago put it together but I hadn't tried it tonight when I finally did it would only go backwards when it's stitches and I thought what's going on with this? So then I pushed the backwards lever and then it went backwards it will not go forwards it will only go backwards either way. So I guess I'm taking mine back tomorrow. See if I can exchange if not I'll have to get my money back and wait till another one comes in.

The tension on the top may be off. Or the bobbin may not be wound and/or threaded correctly. It could also be that the swing machine needle is dull and needs changed. Start with rethreading the top threads from start to finish, try it on the same fabric but a test piece so you don't ruin what you're working on.... , then try changing the needle to a fresh one right for the fabric you're working with. There is a big difference in needles for weight and texture of fabric that can mess your sewing up badly. Test the stitching a test fabric, then try, rewinding the bobbin and rethreading. If your upper tension is off, it could also cause the problem. Set it 4 and try test stitches. Do a long line of stitching.. Go up or down by half a notch at a time to set it correctly for what your are sewing.
We are so sorry that's happening to you! We'd be happy to provide any insight that we can. Can you make stitches at all? What do you see/hear when you attempt to sew? -AR
Hi Katina! Hand sewing only requires one thread. A sewing machine needs two. This video can help explain how it works. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2681yeSrsM0.html Thank you! -TB

Hi! It will work fine with denim. You will however want to use the correct needle. A heavy woven needle is strong and sharp enough to sew denim. Here is some info on sewing machine needles. www.singer.com/sewing-machine-needles. You may also want to get a Clearance Plate, Singer #416483601. A clearance plate will help you sew over thick seams. Thank you! -TB

Hello! Thanks for reaching out! Please follow this link to see the differences between both machines: www.singer.com/compare/230133112/230132112. Thank you1 -MM
We're happy to provide some insight for you. First, make sure the bobbin-winding spindle (located on top of your machine) has been pushed back to the left for sewing. If it is not in the correct position, the needle will not go down and pick-up your bobbin thread. Next, make sure your needle is inserted correctly, as far as it will go, with the flat side facing back. Also, make sure your bobbin is in correctly (not backwards) and that the upper tension disks of your machine are threaded correctly. Make sure the presser foot is up when seating the thread through the upper tension. Now, it’s time to draw up your bobbin thread. Turn the handwheel (TOWARDS YOU ONLY, never turn the handwheel away from you) and hold the needle thread lightly. Tug on it as the needle goes down and then comes up again. You should see a small loop come up through the needle plate (this is your bobbin thread), using the tip of a narrow object like a pencil or scissors, pull the loop up and then pull both threads (top and bobbin) under the foot and toward the back of the machine. If the above troubleshooting tips did not solve your issues, you may need to have your machine repaired for timing. If the timing is out, the needle thread is not meeting the bobbin thread in time to form a stitch. Let us know if this worked for you!😊 -AR
Hi! Being on the U.S. team, I do not have access to that and not sure if we do have a manual in Chinese. Please reach out to SINGER China, to see if they might have one (the machine might go by a different model name/number). You can reach them here: www.singer.sh.cn/. Thank you! -TB
