Why is it that everyone doing a demonstration of these fine machines; FAIL when it comes to double back locking the start of a line of stitching, then follow that bungle by not locking back the end of a line of stitches as it is so easy by the feature of being able to STOP Needle down and then turn the FOOT 180 Degrees and run back a minimum of 3 stitches. Many a skilled operator TREADLES with the feet one or both, then holds the work with either or both hands EXCEPT when needing to maneuver the direction of the travel (Jump-Foot) with the handles provided. Experienced operators can perform these combined tasks in unison. These machines are designed for when the work is not able to be turned; but the stitch's must follow difficult contours as inside of boots-shoes etc. CMVHighPriest
I just bought one of these for sewing my leather work. I have a foot petal for it but the belt to connect it to the machine is missing. What size is the belt you use?
You need to start it with the handle then I find placing my feet front and back on the pedal to establish a rhythm works best. If you stop to turn your work then start again with the handle. Practice on scrap leather before you commit your finished work.
