To me : Dimash BECOMES his music as he enters the stage.. And if you let him, he will reach out and touch your heart, and the very core of your soul... I consider you a fellow-dear. You see his greatness, and you are amazed by his abiluty to use this magnificent instrument that he's got. And maybe most impotently : you see his passion for what he is doing and feel him when he is performing! Your Dimashreactions are great!! 🙏🙏🙏 Love and Peave from Dear i Sweden! 🖤🖤🖤
Adagio is originally a classical piece written for stringd, I believe, many many many years age. Here in Europe we hear it a lot at a funeral. Now, Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics for this song and performed it as well. She is a big inspiration for Dimash. On your journey, you will hear the name many more times, as she also wrote a song for Dimash and she has worked a lot with Meastro Igor Krutoy, who you will °meet ° as well, as both artists perform songs and the same songs from Igor, who is a famous composer. Thanks Josh
I think the tune is well known in the whole world; the first time I listened to this song I felt somehow offended that nobody credited Albinoni for the music, whose autorship of this tune was indisputable in my mind since...ever. It was as if someone had written some lyrics on Bach's Toccata and fugue in d minor or on Mozart's Rondo alla Turca (which Dimash seems to love, by the way) without crediting the original composers. Then after some research I found out to my surprise that the piece isn't that old after all, and that Albinoni autorship is doubtful at best.
Dimash's magic is that he can perform the same song differently every time, you can follow him to a whole concert tour and you will never get bored, the songs may be the same, but each concert is special and his approach to the audience is different.
yes, it is, and he looks adorable in it. In the video 'Jasmine' (very nice, cute song) he wears a really ill-fitting grey coat with grey suit... and he even looks good in that :)) cheers from Vienna
Magic always happens when Dimash is on stage.....three years later and this song is still one of my favorite...BTW Lara Fabian is Dimash's idol...she puts lots of emotions into her songs as well, you may want to check her out...actually she wrote the lyrics for this and several other songs that Dimash covered
I was just watching an interview with author/teacher/dreamer Robert Moss. The term "egregore" was introduced; I feel that the Dears, gathering to receive the medicine/miracle of Dimash, create an egregore: "An egregore (pronounced egg’ gree gore) is a group thought-form. It can be created either intentionally or unintentionally, and becomes an autonomous entity with the power to influence. A group with a common purpose like a family, a club, a political party, a church, or a country can create an egregore, for better or worse depending upon the type of thought that created it.". Dimash's technical skills, gifts, and extensive training seem to be a vehicle to take us to another reality that is beyond understood parameters. He stirs something magical in the listener, and the listeners, in turn, share that beauty with the larger world. Is there a more opportune time and place for Dimash to arrive than here and now?
Vicki B. It is almost a religious feeling when I listen to Dimash, not only because of his incredible voice but for the kind and humble person he is. He has such a charismatic personality, when I listen to him , I feel I am part of the Dears, makes me feel good.
@@claude-emiliecloutier8186 , yes, oui!! For me, it is "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts". There is something transcendent and alchemical in experiencing Dimash. Even more so, when in a group, such as being with one who is "reacting" on a very sensitive and respectful level. Being in this presence is the most grounding, centering exercise for me. And, too, it is recognizing the spiritual experience, without putting the human on a pedestal. Thanks for sharing.
I totally agree ... listening to Dimash, it is spiritual for me ... Beautiful, empowering, gentle, all-encompassing ... forever grateful to discover him! ♥️
Thank you for this info. It took me weeks trying to understand this totally overwhelming, overpowering feeling I had listening to Dimash. It was like being drugged ...having to watch him every day, having his music fill me up throughout the day even when not listening to him....Astonishing...I thought I was going nuts actually!! Then searched RU-vid & found there were thousands/millions of people all over the world going through exactly the same thing! Phew! What a relief that was. So, I am now proud to be a Dear & accept him totally & don't question it any more....Just love, support him & enjoy his genius! (plus he makes me so very happy.😄) 💖💖💖🤗
When you get to Daybreak get the background story from Gloria Wu but listen to the Bastau version. Dimash had a sore throat the day he sang it on I Am Singer and did it with much more emotion at Bastau.
You asked us to find someone else that can sing like Dimash. I’m afraid that’s mission impossible. He is a one of a kind artist. If you find someone let me know. I’m betting you can’t. Thanks for the reaction and enjoy the discovery of Dimash’s world
Still his number one fan, can reply all his songs hiting almost every notes. She is amazing too - of course Dimash is always the perfection. Ceck out this beatiful lady Rimar! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qzrwOkD6lHk.html
Pity you chopped his sustained note in half (on the word 'stay') so that you didn't appreciate how long it was. If you pause to comment mid phrase could you please take the video back a little when you continue. Thanks.
Yes, as you are discovering, Dimash packs all kinds of nuances, transitions, and tidbits throughout his songs, so you are in danger of missing things when you pause and just resume. It would probably be a good habit to get into if you would just back up a couple of seconds after every pause and then hit play.
You are absolutely right, intense beautiful experiences when Dimash sings. We are soo lucky to hear the most beautiful voice in the world. Thank you so much for your reaction. 🎼👏👏
I've been Dimashified since 2017, and I've stopped listening to other singers at all!!!) signed up!) you missed a very complex, long and interesting note!!! so sorry
Dimash always takes it to the next level. This is a Lara Fabian song. She praised Dimash in Social Media for this performance. Dimash has also performed (after I am Singer 2017) another Lara Fabian song, “M.Hyde”, with Igor Krutoy on piano; a fan favourite with the Dears.
Thank you for reacting to Dimash singing "Adagio" 👍🎶🙏! The day after Dimash sang "Adagio" on "I Am Singer 2017" one of the authors of the song, Lara Fabian who popularized the song in 1999, posted her reaction to Dimash's performance on 2 of her social media platforms. 1. "Adagio travels across the continents. Congratulations to Dimash Kudaibergen performing at the Chinese TV competition, 'I Am Singer'." Then she posted the full UTube vid of his performance. 2. "I just came across a young singer from Kazakhstan. He is amazing!" Then she posted the full UTube vid of his performance. 2 years after those postings, Lara sings with Dimash (and Aida Garifullina), "Ti Amo Cosi" in concert and also wrote the lyrics for one of Dimash's more recent songs, "Your Love", composed by renown Igor Krutoy. One of the US producers, who is currently working with Dimash on a new song, also worked with Lara on one of her most successful albums. Small world, eh 🌎!?!
Great reaction as always. Lara Fabian made this version of the song famous. (She wrote the lyrics to a famous Italian Classical piece, Adagio in G minor by Albinoni). You should check out her live performance. It's breathtaking and the inspiration of Dimash's performance. Thanks again for your very enlightening and enjoyable videos. By the way a good trick of reaction videos is to rewind about 5 or 10 seconds when you stop to comment. That way the continuity stays intact.
Great reaction again Josh ... thankyou so much! Love your technical comments and info as well as your obvious enthusiasm for our phenomenal Dimash! This is such an intense song it took me a while to truly absorb it but now it is high on my playlist ... I love it! Yes he always takes songs to the next level ... many levels higher really ... He is far above any other singer I have EVER heard! I love your reactions so much Josh, so I'll echo others and say please pause at the end of his sustained notes rather than in the middle ... they're too beautiful to miss! Thanks for sharing your journey with us Josh ... and yes you're fully a Dear now! When asked he has said he called his fans Dears because we are like family to him and dear to his heart ... says everything about our darling Dimash right there! ♥️
Hey for me that is one of his most powerful performances on the show. He pushed himself to the Max you can tell he was exhausted at the end . Dimash put his Heart, Soul and Breath in to every word in that song :) Just Amazing how he raises the Bar in every song he covers :) No one can cover the songs the way Dimash does :)
Thank you for your calm and appreciating kind of reaction. I agree that listening to Dimash is always an experience. He really lives the songs and pulls you into it so you can feel and experience it deep inside. I think thats the secret and the fascination of music. Watching Dimash helps me through this time of Corona without the possibility to hear and to do live music and concerts. Thank you, Dimash!
When you were talking about taking a song to the next level, all I could think about was that I can't wait until you get to his cover of Lionel Richie's Hello. He sang this on Singer 2018 when he came back as a special guest. He elevates this song so much it is unreal. I remember that song well from my teenage years, and quite frankly, don't really like to even listen to it anymore. THEN, Dimash came along and totally remade this song and I love it!! Here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9G92IVn8DIw.html. It is from Erlan Bekchurin's channel. Erlan is Dimash's very close friend who arranges a lot of his music and handles the sound on his tours. You have several amazing, important songs to get to before this one, but I mentioned it now because of what you were discussing. Oh, I forgot to mention, he sings some of the "I Love You" lines in Chinese, while the rest of the song is in English. Didn't want you to wonder what was happening when you listen to it.
Thank you for another great analysis, Josh!! I guess "Daybreak" is one of the next songs you will see, since you're going chronologically. However, I would really like to stress out that the Bastau concert version that was done just a few months after the Singer is a lot better than the one on the Singer. Unless you plan on doing both versions, I would suggest going for the Bastau one for your channel. The story is important and Gloria Wu has done again a great job giving all the details of it, but again, she distorts the sound for copyrights (videos are a bit slowed down) and the performance is inferior to the Bastau one. If I may suggest, you can watch just the backstory from Gloria Wu's intro and then listen to the song from Dimash's Bastau concert.
Oh my goodness, you destroyed that very long sustained note on the word Stay. That's a crime!!!! 😱 please pause as often as you like but please do it mindfully as it's better to wait for the end of a phrase, or at least return the video to hear the whole part 💖
You do great reactions to Dimash. Just a note since you are building your channel. You are a vocalist and knowledgeable about music and you will get more views, likes and subscribers if you are a vocalist or have training. I know I prefer to listen to reactions by reactors that know music and can give analysis so I click on those reactors. I clicked on your channel by accident but glad I did.Your name Nerdy dad doesn't draw attention to your expertise and viewers give attention to those who know music. Maybe add something after your nerdy dad like vocalist or training since you are more than that.
Thanks for letting us follow along on your Dimash journey! There are Gloria Wu-translated videos for the next songs, Daididau and Daybreak- turn on English subtitles. For Daybreak, since Dimash was sick and didn't perform his best then, you should compare it to Daybreak from his 2017 Bastau concert (posted on his channel). All by Myself, Unforgettable Day (which Dimash composed as a teenager; he hits a D8 whistle in this song at his Gakku concert), and Confessa + Diva Dance (from the 5th Element, which you should compare to the version from his 2017 Bastau concert) round out the top performances. And as a guest performer in 2018, he sang an impressive cover of Lionel Ritchie's Hello...After that, you'll be off to the races with Dimash's more recent performances!
I’m in heaven everytime I hear Dimash sing & not a day goes by without me listening to his unique, magnificent & incomparable voice. His vocal abilities are soooo incredible like I have never ever heard before. Dimash is the best of the best of all time. I am his Dear from Canada for life. 🤗😍❤️🥰🇨🇦🇨🇦💥
The truth is that since I met Dimash, I can't listen to anyone else, no other artist touches my soul. I've been listening to his songs for a year, they never bore me, his voice invariably touches me and makes every day more beautiful. I want it to stay that way and I will happily follow and support his career all my life (meaning I hope so long). It's lucky that we live in Dimash's time.So I'm asking for more songs from Dimash. Dear from Poland
Hi Josh. This was the first song he sang that made me cry, although I came pretty close with SOS! Adagio, IMO, is that it is a desire or yearning for the perfect love that the person hasn't found yet. “I don’t know where to find you. I don't know how to reach you.” You know that person exists (you hear their voice in the wind, under your skin), and you will wait for them “Within my heart and soul I wait for you” “When the time is right I know you’ll be in my arms”. A little trick about watching Dimash, when the ear monitor comes out, you know something wow is about to happen! lol
I HEARD YOU, I subscribed today ❤️ you treat his work with very much respect, and I want to appreciate that. I think it was a good idea to SKIP FUNKY TOWN as it really doesn’t suit him. He did his best though, but I can live without it ☺️ He performed together with the Super Vocal Boys during The Singer time, it was a medley to honor Freddy Mercury. As you asked for recommendations of other young singers. DIMASH sings with them and all the boys TOGETHER ARE SPECTACULAR 😍 If you are following his trajectory in sequence, that’s my best recommendation. If you are considering yourself a dear, you have a world still to see about DIMASH, he seems like already lived a hundred years with the ton of work he has to show. See you soon and thank you again 🙏
Powerful and emotional interpretation. Dimash is a teacher who takes over the emotionality of the character, the story he tells us to express it in addition to his voice, his body language, his intonation, his facial expressions and his hands. Dimash becomes the protagonist of the story, he not only interprets it, he lives it, he feels it and then he delivers it in the spectacular way that characterizes it. Greetings from Nicaragua 🇳🇮
Hello! Good reaction! I strongly NOT RECOMMENDED do reaction to the two song from this competition - "Daybreak" and "Unforgettable day". Dimash makes its math better in the concerts Daybreak - Bastau 2017 Unforgettable day - Gakku concert
What a pity you skipped uptown funk ! Maybe you don’t like this kind of songs or performances ? I hope you watch it, otherwise you will miss part of the diversity. Loved your analysis of previous songs so far. I am so happy that I found Dimash. I hope you will experience the same. Thanks for your interest in Dimash ! Yes, it is an experience of a lifetime. He really is an inspiration for young singers, but I guess few will have the possibility and the drive, persistence, stamina to take it up to that level.
This song in itself is amazing. But Dimash brings it to a whole new level. I feel he actually becomes the music. This is something he does with every song he sings. He takes a song and makes it his own. As you continue to watch his journey you will see how he has grown over the past three years. Thanks for your wonderful reaction.🎼🎶🎤❤️🇺🇸
Он сам действующий актер. Замечательное ведение беседы. Интеллигентный и справильной дикцией и хорошими манерами. Что то вроде мюзикла я смотрела где он участвовал
Hello Josh, I found your channel yesterday and watched all your Dimash's videos & subscribed. :) I really appreciate your videos, as I can see that you're serious with music and you put effort in getting to know Dimash behind the camera. I enjoy your sincere words, analysis, and your appreciation of great performers & vocals. Thank you for your time you put in each video. Btw, sorry for not having the video recording on when you did Oprah2. hehe. And good choice of skipping Uptown Funk. Looking forward to your videos on Dimash! :D
He is amazing isnt'he? Such a beautiful song, such beautiful arrangement but Dimash's voice takes it to another level. Oh and don't worry, you can rewind to hear more as many times as you want for all Dears have seen these videos multiple time and never ever get bored to see someone enjoying Dimash's talent. You are now a Dear.
I love Dimash! I think he is the only one of his kind, I am 56 years old and I have never seen a person sing and enchant as he can. He totally indulges in the songs he sings. Even if we don't understand the lyrics, we can feel the emotion he goes through when he sings. Thank you for reacting and explaining to us how he is majestic.
Good night to you. I am a native speaker of another language, namely Russian. And I read your reviews in automatic translation. But I still enjoy watching your analytical reactions. And what I would like to say: you admire the still young Dimash. Imagine how he matured over these few years. Imagine how he became wiser and more experienced ... How his voice was transformed and strengthened! And the technology has grown much ... I would really like to see your reactions already to modern performance. Do not stop. And good luck to you.
me encantan tus reacciones a Dimas. Es único e increíble!!!! por favor reacciona a Daybreak en su concierto de Bastau, su interpretación es espectacular. Saludos desde Argentina!!!

There is Nobody anywhere near Dimash's level in the world today. With a flawless 7 octave range, incredible vocal flexibility, control not to mention breath control. The ability to sing in any music style, huge variety of vocal colour, the ability to convey heart-rending emotion. Also amazing charisma, stage presence, good looking 6'3" and an incredibly nice person. Tell me, where are you going to find anyone with all the above??? Take it from me, you're NOT! 😊🏴👍
There are some singers who sing with great emotion (as Dimash does); some who have great voices (as Dimash does); some who “become the song” (as Dimash does); some who add drama (as Dimash does); some who have a wide range (though not AS wide as Dimash’s); some who can belt (as Dimash does); some who can sing tenderly (as Dimash does); some who can sing different genres (as Dimash does);... but NO ONE other than Dimash can achieve ALL that CONSISTENTLY at the same level of perfection! Just my opinion.
I hope you are now a Dear as well & have subscribed to Dimash’s official RU-vid channels please also react to all his songs, your Love, across Eddless Dimensions, love is like a Dream & so many others. Thank you, Acadian Dear, 🤗❤️🥰🇨🇦
A great recommendation for someone like him would be So Hyang. Maybe check out a song called "everyone" by her. Fantastic song or another would be "lean on me".
Great reaction to Dimash singing Adagio on The Singer competition in 2017. He was only 22 years old at the time. Great performance by Dimash. Greetings from Amsterdam.
I am really enjoying your reactions and am glad that you are going through the "The Singer" performances because all of them are remarkable in their own way. When you get to episode 7 (Daididau) and especially episode 10 (Unforgettable Day), I would humbly suggest you not use Gloria Wu's channel. I love and appreciate Gloria's work very much, but on these two performances, she intercuts other images and I think it takes something away from the beauty and power of these performances. Gloria's videos are absolutely worth watching, but perhaps you can watch the performances first then watch Gloria Wu's channel to get the backstories. Dimash composed Unforgettable Day when he was a teenager, and in Gloria's video, she intercuts images from Dimash's older performances, and it's a bit distracting. There are several versions with subtitles. Here's one that has multiple subtitles. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Jm_HbzEfW-w.html
When it comes to vocals and performance, this is a masterpiece! Please don't stop the song mid-phrase, though. The strong "stay" part is one of my favourites of all Dimashes notes.
He really gave it all in this song!!! I can watch this performance over and over again because of the emotions it evokes in me...Thanks, Josh! Have you gotten requests to react to a young Russian singer Diana Ankudinova? She's another type of alien than Dimash ;)) but stunning as well. She was 14 or 15 when she won the competition for orphaned kids called I am Super! I'd recommend to start with a song Rechenka (little river in Russian). But I bet you'll be tempted to listen to more of her. She sing in multiple languages too.
By interrupting you missed one of the most impressive vocals in the song. You were talking about vocal folds. I think you should discipline yourself to only make breaks at the END of phrases and not in the middle of them, no matter how important you think the point is.
Respectfully, I believe you are an "INTJ" (personality & character type) as I am....I convey this to you delicately...If I am wrong, my apologies for profiling you...Well done on the video!!
Hallo Josh, danke für diese Reaktion. Dimash ist unglaublich faszinierend. Wie ich sehe, haben Sie die Episode 2 (Opera 2) ausgelassen. Gibt es einen Grund dafür?
Dimash did Uptown Funk in the episode right before Adagio and while he got everyone (competitors and audience) involved and enjoying the performance it didnt showcase any technique or skills of his voice and he got his lowest placement (6th). So Adagio came next where he put 300% of himself into it!! And he also took 1st place for this performance! 💜🤗💜🤗💜🤗💜
Please react to Aida Daididua from the Bastua concert 2017..The first solo Dimash concert in his country, with all the culture..even Dimash was visibly moved…and of course the beauty of his voice…..thanks
