I was at his both concerts at the bird’s nest in Beijing, the biggest stadium in China which can hold 90000 people, and I can say they were really the best I have even seen! No one video you see is comparable with the live! His concert is absolutely a must to see in the life! He sang 4 new songs he has recently composed, this one is one of them. They are all different, and show how versatile, artistic, creative he is! This one is definitely a masterpiece! He said he doesn’t want to give the audience his images while composing songs, but he preferred people to have their own when listening to his songs. All he can tell is that he now tends to write songs about the humain nature/universal love (quite a huge subject). He is truely a musical genius for me! Please keep reacting to his performances!

Hua Chenyu is a musical genius. You have to hear about him talk about the lyrics to understand the story...yes, it is about bull fighting, but it is also about life and the meaning of life. This song was one of his new original compositions debuted at the Mars Concert he holds every year in Beijing. This year it was at the Birds Nest Stadium (built for the Olympics)...he sold out back to back concerts for 180,000 people in less than 2 minutes.

You both looks confused at the beginning, He compose this song and he said this song took him one month to complete. Totally agreed with you, Hua is in each and every of his song, he pay so much attention to music details. His concert is truly amazing, no guess singer, no dancer, all he has was highlighted his band and back up singer, all his band musician will dress the best and be part on stage. His interlude session this year is almost a whole orchestra on stage!! He really not only a singer but an artist, he compose 4 new songs for his concert and are all different style!! Great to hear that Marco has an interest in getting deeper into the lyrics. I read the lyrics and I feel that Bullfighting could be partially a metaphorical description of the art making process in its essence. Hua did talk about using the "reverse" method in his works: to expose darkness in order to bring attention to issues. An example is "Fake Monk." So in this song, the bullfighter, performs killing in front of millions as an art form to bring attention to the act of killing, which make us pause and think. In this way the artist , the bullfighter, "pays tribute to all life regardless of stature" as commented by the lyrics. Another relevant phrase to this interpretation is that:" where beauty and cruelty/tragedy merge as one, there is the habit of aesthetics." So, it is tragedy that make us think and feel the beauty. I can think of many other ways to interpret this piece. It is very intellectually and artistically interesting while at the same time, very entertaining that appeals the general public with its catchy tunes and unusual compositional structure.

This year he sang 4 new songs. All different styles n equally amazing with different elements. 1) Bull flighting 2) Arrival 3) Jackdaw boy 4) the new world. To my understanding, this song is abt the life of a bull n how it fight in the ring, the 2nd part is abt how we human fight like a bull in this rat race world n the last part abt we hv to be kind n love our enemies n the world. After Hua Chenyu's Bird's Nest MARS CONCERT in Sept. 8th and 9th, I keep reminiscing about the beautiful scene I saw at the two-days concerts, including his self-composed new song "Bullfighting", so that I felt a great loss and emptiness when I finally left the city where Hua Chenyu is. He is really a genius and a king on the stage. I have to say, please come to his concert in the future! Only when you join the concert can you feel his charming and glamorous performances more than watching videos. It's about dream.

I remember Huahua once said in an interview that he thinks his voice, his singing, should be just a part of his song and just a way of giving the sound that no instrument can carry. Before he sang this song he introduced it some (since it's the first time anyone heard it). He said that on the surface the lyrics are describing bullfighting, but the message was to love onself, love the people around you, and love (or forgive) your enemies. This is the song that took Hua the longest time to compose - a whole month!

Hi guys, thanks for watched it. I was in his concert for 8th and 9th September. The lyrics actually is talk about bull fighting story in the surface, but the inner part of the meaning which how he told us when he compose this song is about love.... From my understanding is bullfighting is violence and aggressive ...human train the bull to fight maybe just for their personal profit but by the bull mind might be love and loyalty toward master.. He did explained a little bit is he hopes that everyone not only to love your own but to love all people and everything beside you, even though your enemies...so from the beginning of this song is in a aggressive way just like atmosphere in Colosseum... Then after fights come to a ceremony like requiem...then bring back to the finale.

He did explain a bit in his 9.9 concert that he mentioned that maybe due to the fast-paced evolution of modern and economic life, many people are growing up while losing rituals meaning in life, so “bullfighting” is a recall of a ritual and by its well known meaning it is a ritual about sacrifice to death, celebration of overcoming to death, and in this year he was trying to write songs more to talk about bigger / universal love (including this one), not only loving yourself, but the one besides you and even your enemies, Hua prefers not to show his own pic about his songs but leave every audience to create its own pics of his songs, well I do agree this song, not just the lyrics but also the music composes are very complex and deep, even we read in Chinese I still take very long time to digest it’s meaning, I think Hua is going from a Pop singer to a world class artistic musician indeed. Apart from this one, he wrote three other new songs just for his concert, namely “Arrival” (specifically wrote with Chinese style elements to show Chinese style music in his eyes are very cool and advanced), “Jackdaw boy” and “New World” (to celebrate his 5th year become a singer). These all three new songs are very cool and again different style of him that I can’t use words to explain, but if I would recommend, I suggest you guys to do “Arrival” as though he intentionally play with Chinese style elements but this song is definitely crossover of Western and eastern music and the lyrics are wrote in more philosophical way, many people after listen created different pics in mind, I do love to hear what’s your comments and mind after hearing !

When the First beat came I immediately knew that it was going to be something else! something unique. I was at the live concert and trust me nothing can ever compare to live performance😭I even forgot to close my mouth and getting goosebumps everywhere!This official video has been cut a lot like its sound effects and especially his voice(it was nothing like the live performance). Hua Chen Yu’s concert is the best the dopest performance I have ever seen in my entire life! I love this man forever.

I also flew all the way from Vancouver just to attend this concert . It’s an audio visual extravaganza. Watching these videos could never get the same impact of seeing him perform in live in front of 90,000 people , in the biggest stadium in Beijing and in China . Hua never wanted to explain his lyrics/art as he prefers each audience to have their own impression and interpretation without any influences. Every one should form their own pictures in their mind. Like an art piece. So, no, it will not be a good idea to have a longer reaction video with you explaining the lyrics. That will be totally against his intentions. In fact, he did not even like to produce MV as he felt that they will form impressions in the audience minds. Besides, the lyrics are not written by him. He will dictate what he wants, his feelings and intentions to the lyricist, so that the lyrics will suit entirely to his composition. The concert was held in the largest stadium in Beijing, China, with a capacity of 90,000 each night. He did 2 nights straight, and I need to let you know that he was sick and his throat was in pain (inflamation), so much so that he took a shot direct to his throat for the 2nd night simply because he wanted to give his best performance to his audience. If you can, please react to his other new songs, "Arrival" and "Jackdaw Boy", I will be interested to see your reactions and hear your opinions on these two entirely different style songs.

I really hope that you guys can watch more Singer 2018 performances of him! Because every performance is special. EP9 "Mountain and Sea", EP5 "Child", EP4 "Wukong" are absolutely worthy to check out (especially Wukong is his own song and also his first performance in Singer 2018), please don't miss them :) And he was on another TV show THE NEXT before Singer, in this show sometimes he had to compose a song within 24 hours, but he still did a good job and left some legendary performances on that stage. You guys heard Tengri's "Heaven" in Singer 2018 already, and Hua composed this song and it totally being changed into "Hua's song". It was in THE NEXT S2EP2，I hope you can check it out. Also S2EP9 "Drinking Alone" is my fav, I think it sounds so angelic, please watch it when you have free time. This unique song is again composed by him and he has blended himself into the song again. He said before that the human voice is just like another instrument, just another part to service and bring out the enyire musical piece. He actually mentioned in the concert (which was a debut for this new song) that it is about love. But in his own words, everybodh should have their own interpretation or take-away evenfor the same song!
The song is called bullfighting, but is more than bullfighting. It reminds me of my struggling or something in my own life. Btw I recommend you to listen to his another new song Arrival which was also first delivered on the concert. It was also composed and arranged by hua. I love that most in all his new songs.
Hua Hua has declined many times to give his intepretation of the lyrics to his many songs. He refuses to be bound by borders and therefore, refuses to do that to listeners. Each of us will come away feeling differently after listening to any one song. That was what Freddie Mercury said too of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.
