Mitch’s acting expressions are SO on point! He is not only vocally adept, you can see that he is an artist also! However, I LOVE Kirstie’s gleefully mischievous smile at the end after she ’scares’ Mitch! 😄😄
It is my understanding that Idina Minzel, the lady that the song Defying Gravity was actually written for (the high parts) saw the Superfruit version, and it wasn't long the people from the Broadway show reunion (this show) got in touch with PTX because Ms. Minzel insisted they have a song on stage.
You stumbled upon the "secret" of Pentatonix. The original "trio", Scott, Kirstin, and Mitch are a once in a lifetime combo that together with Kevin and Matt are much more than the sum of their parts. I for one thank my lucky stars to be able to witness their greatness.
Just in case you were thinking that this performance was too easy, the original actresses for the roles (Kristen Chenowith and Idina Menzel) were both on-hand and part of the show that night. The night itself was a celebration for the 15th(?) anniversary of the musical Wicked.
They recently performed Sweater Weather live on the Late Late Show. If you haven't already, you should check that out. It'll give you a chance to hear more of Matt live.
They just keep getting better and better. And you are so right about Mitch being the perfect bridge between Kirstie and Scott. I also missed Matt's bass and didn't think they needed an orchestra accompaniment but it wasn't too overpowering so I'll let it slide. They are getting better with the sound production on live sets to highlight their vocals. I'm glad you are able to keep up with PTX reactions without being blocked. I love you guys.
Mitch is one of the best vocalists in the world and PTX is a force to be reckoned with. And Kirstie did amazing too! I wanna see PTX perform more songs from “Wicked” now.
I love when you react to pentatonix, and can we talk about Scott and Matt's harmonies? We are not talking about Kevin because he is a god, and we don't use the name of god in vain.
I'm surprised you haven't reacted to Superfruit doing Wicked Defying Gravity. Your jaw will drop. Meanwhile, the trio has been singing together since they were children. They are NEVER EVER out of tune with each other however, you can see in behind the scenes video of rehearsals that Mitch is the one who keeps them in their correct part harmony as they wrote the arrangement. And Kevin, who is the one with the true perfect pitch - Mitch's is a developed perfect pitch. There's a video here somewhere from this last tour showing them backstage and when Scott's note isn't as they wanted it Mitch feeds him the note - he get's it right and Kevin confirms it. That's why when they are each asked in interviews which one is the "best singer" they all say Mitch without hesitation.

Yes, they're doing their round of Christmas promos now. So they've been on the Late Late Show with James Cordon, the Today Show, Rockefeller Center Xmas and on 10 November they'll have their Christmas Special on NBC (that'll be ’almost live’)! Lots to see over this season and a few good tour videos too! Look out for Hassan Ahmed's when he posts his video of their DC ’Christmas Is Here’ concert.

They've done a lot of guest appearances on tv shows in the US recently. Theyre all very good. I just am unsure about availability and copywrite strikes if you react to them. This one was from NBC, a major player in TV and the channel that aired "The Sing-Off "... Ill check the tree-lighting Ceremony in Rockefeller Plaza, "The Morning Show", The "Today Show" and shoot some links back at you. They did other songs besides "Sweater Weather" on some of them. I think the "Late Late Show with James Corden" is great because of the percussion they added. brb!
They have a Christmas special coming up, I'm not sure what day it's going to be on. And I also saw that they are going to be guesting on somebody else's special, I didn't get to see the beginning of that ad.

It's their special, and they have guests such as Kelly Clarkson (I suspect that they will do a live performance of "Grown-Up Christmas List"), Maren Morris ("When You Believe"), and the Backstreet Boys (I honestly have no idea of what they will do, and whether or not Pentatonix will join them). It will at at 10 PM Eastern and Pacific time, and 9 PM Central and Mountain time). For Marco and Ali, that will be 4 am on the 11th of December, but I doubt that you will be able to see it live. If they run it like last year's special, you'll be able to watch it on the PTXofficial website within a few days of the original air date.
