Gladiator is one of my favorite movies as a young historian and “Now We Are Free” is an emotional roller coaster every time I hear it. I can feel Maximus close to death walking through the wheat to be with his family, commanding his second to help lead the nation. It’s such an ethereal song and I love your rendition of it!!❤️❤️

What’s happening is that the music transcends space and time the moment we hear it. When we all hear this song we all think and see the same thing, Maximus close to death walking through the field to be with his family. Ask yourself how is that possible.? The music triggers our brains in a way that remind us of whatever’s the music is linked to.

Oh my gosh this made me cry, it was my Russian grandmother’s favorite movie. An it became mine... I remember watching this movie with her as a child before she died. Thank you for this, absolutely beautiful voice an gift from God

The name of the song is ‘Elysium’. It’s used because Elysium was the Roman afterlife. Hence why when you watch the movie you see Maximus walking through his home fields, direct symbolism of the fields of Elysium.

Worked outside in the 7° Ohio winter all day (industrial electrician) and realized I had listened to Lauren singing basically nonstop. Eventually my buddy pointed out that it was time to go home. Mentally, I had been sitting in that stairwell all day... Just listening away 😌

I would say that this music is probably in the top 5 most emotionally impactful pieces of music that I have ever heard and you sing it beautifully! I remember watching this in 2002 in South Korea, feeling very lonely, being away from friends and family. And, let me tell you, it rained that day! lol.

So long as Lagan is pronounced properly! We'd such a laugh at the poor American flight attendant when she tried to tell the passengers about the River Lah-GEHNN on our way home to N. Ireland from New York...poor dear! Although the English don't do much better....Omagh....Donegal....Tyrone ....even the emphasis in Belfast! Hey there! =D I used Isabella's lullaby! Two of my players had watched the anime, so it felt more personal. The mermaid was down a cave so the reverberation worked well too!
