I had my classic car, a 1965 Cadillac Conv. painted in a beautiful Scarlet Red single stage Imron paint about 6 years ago and it looks just a great today as it did after it was just painted. What I like about it is that I never have to wax it and it's a hard paint so it doesn't scratch as easily as lacquer paint would.
I guess that hose fed gun was shooting sealer. It’s been a while since I’ve seen one of those but for a big job it’s way easy not to have to refill your gun.
Yo heads up the Dimension paint line by Sherwin Williams (used in this video) has been discontinued as of last week, at least in Canaland. They got a new formulation but dunno what it's like yet
Solid paints can be single stage, just glossy paint and no clear coat. I painted a pair of speakers with red 1K acrylic enamel single stage and they came out amazing.
Yea I used a airless paint sprayer with 1000 dollars wort paint... so round 2 I wanna get it right... I bought the 96 oz like u use and gonna try again... wht gun pressure?
nason 1k sealer you can litterally spray on and right after spraying on sealer , you can paint and it gives more of a factory like finish , and you dont even gotta buff
I just sprayed my boat with u tech single stage... Was outside and temp was 60 .. Ended up with a ton of runs... Would u spray entire boat or each blend section? Probaly hve a good 7 on each side about 2 -3 ft long ... I sanded down each run with 320 ... And then hitv with 600... I am guessing I should just sand entire side of boat at this point with 600 and respray ... Not sure if i try and blend each it will b notiacable... Need a bail out... lol
Reven327 sounds like you need a bail out all right, take it to the closest paint shop and they will get it straightened out for ya. It’s so hard for any of us to try and tell you what to do or how to do it. Not everyone can paint and that’s ok, and if you have that many runs and they are that big then you may be someone that just doesn’t have the knack for it. It really takes some serious skill plus it sounds like you don’t have the proper equipment to even begin. If you used an airless sprayer then you dumped 6 times more paint on it than you needed because the tip was probly way too big and the pressure was too high. Get some books and start reading up on it. The videos on you tube don’t give you all the info you need to learn how to do it. Not trying to be hard on ya buddy, but it took all of us that paint years to learn the trade and it’s not something we can just give you a tip or two and it turn out good, sorry
I don't understand how make gloss painting on car.... Paint +thinner only or paint+clear+thinner..... Or Paint+hardener+thinner... Somebody please help with how much percent ratio...
Beautiful work! I'm trying to figure out how to get in touch with you. Van Nuys is all I know. I have an easy one for you. Fixing up a 91 Isuzu Trooper for my son. I could bring it to you unless you're interested in spending a weekend in Laughlin NV. I'd put you up in a casino on the river for 3 days and pay for your work. I have access to a legit booth. I just don't like any of the painters work.
En base coat , en media hora podes aplicar el clear. La single stage no esta diseñada para aplicarle clear , pero podes hacerlo hasta que la pintura este casi seca, tarda mas.
You have to follow the instructions , there is usually an 18 hour window in which you have to apply the clear .... You also have to use the same style (chemically ) clear as the paint you use .... (Urethane / Urethane ) You cant mix Urethane and Acrylic , and vise versa ....
Norman Murray you can clearcoat anytime after the color coat has racked up. Once paint has dried over several hours then your gonna have to prep the surface again by either using a 3m pad or wet sanding to ensure the clear has micro scratches to bite into. Once the color cost has dried to the touch the clear coat can no longer bond to the color coat which in essence makes the sealer, the color, and the clear all bonds together when all coats are sprayed in succession and they are tender enough for them to bond but once they dry you will have to scuff it then the layers bite together and hold on. If you don’t follow those manufacturers recommendations then the clear will peel right off
Constructive criticism ....Nice paint job, could have spent a little more time on the bodywork Dent above Driver-side wheel well. Sorry I used to paint show cars Keven
If you look, he's in a spray booth. All the overspray in the air is exhausted pronto. You and I don't have a spray booth, so we spray and mist goes on paint and dulls the shine...too bad
@@ericandnikalaprise7759 What's a good pressure pot setup that won't break the bank but is still good quality? Would only be using on the occasional all over, primarily spraying bc/cc for insurance jobs. Thanks
for u rookies out there in youtube land dont even mention maccoo on here, this is a million times better than macoo job. macoos is the cheapest paint job in the world.
that's a cheap spray job worth less then $300 bucks. Sorry you will have to many runs on your job there. On top you got over spray on the tires and rims and now fog on the panels because the roof was not painted first. you paint top down than back to front or like I prefer from to back actually.
Looked pretty damn good to me. Don't understand why you criticize. You probably charge people thousands of dollars. Some people can't afford great paint jobs.. but this one looks great and if the customer is happy then that's what counts. Runs and fog are easily remedied by a wet sand and buff.
