IMPORTANT: Unfortunately, I won’t be responding to Instagram messages anymore. I hope you guys understand. It’s not an easy thing for me to have to say. Back when I first started my channel I had very little subscribers so this was something I could do easily but now as my channel has grown and that I’m a mother to two very young children, it’s impossible for me to respond to everyone. I currently have 92 unread messages in my inbox and that’s only from last week. I’ve also been getting a lot of rude and hurtful messages of people saying that I’m fake because I’m not responding or sending me message after message demanding for my attention. I know how it feels when you’re desperate. Truly, I do. I’ve been there. But please remember I am just one person. A lot of people are also asking me for medical advice but please remember I am not a doctor. I’m just like you. If you want to get in touch, I offer health anxiety talking sessions which you can book here - cherellethinks.setmore.com I have a health anxiety support page on Facebook. Just type in ‘Health Anxiety Community’ and last, I also do regular Q&A’s on my Instagram too to answer any questions people may have. I hope you understand and it’s never my intention to upset anyone. There just isn’t enough hours in the day. Thanks so much. X

I just found your channel and it's been so reassuring that I'm not alone in this! I have a dullish ache in the back left side of my neck that comes for awhile then goes, even moving to the back of my eye and upper cheek on that side. The nostril will ache and feel clogged but then clear up after a bit. I've had this going for about 5 months, and my rationalization is if it was something "serious" it'd be worse by now and I'd feel horrible. I believe the thing keeping it from going away totally is be constantly stressing over it, as it flares into a headache when I get stressed or think about it. The mistake is looking for "reassurance" online because it'll just add symptoms to your mind that you'll then believe are present, for me it was numbness in my upper cheek (that has been gone as I stopped worrying about that). Also the bleeding is likely from messing with your nose too much, as it's happened to me twice because of this! It's scary, but I think we should just not let it dominate our thoughts, though easier said than done!

Nykophobiac Hi there! Wow I feel I could have wrote this myself. Like you, the more I stress, the worse my symptoms become and the more I focus on that area of my face the more intense and painful it all feels. Our minds are so powerful it’s crazy! And as you said, after 5 months you would certainly be very very unwell by now if it was something more concerning. That’s what I’m trying to hold on to also! I really hope you feel better soon and thanks for sharing your story!

@@cherellethinks thank you! I try to manage my stress more, and when I do it usually turns into a normal mild headache! (though the sinus pain is still slightly present, but not nearly as bad!) Moderate exercise helps TONS when you feel the aches coming on, it helps ease them down!

the anatomy of your nose definitely can affect your symptoms and make them more unilateral. my nose is pretty deviated and i usually have snot come out more on the left side. i was so scared it was a spinal fluid leak or nasal cancer but it was literally just allergies and the one-sided symptoms were due to the shape of my nose. zyrtec and nasal spray didn't help much and that's when i got scared, but then my doc prescribed claritin and i almost HARDLY have snot coming out of my nose now. sometimes you gotta play around with meds till you find which one works for you

I got hit with anxiety and panic disorder after dealing with cocaine. I had my nose problem for over a year now and i finally decided to go get it checked out. A few doctors said it was nothing to worry about because my breathing was more important. I had my medicine doctor and family doctor to look at it which both has no clue whats wrong with me. I saw your video that you are twitching/ hypnic jerk symptoms which i now do have. i didnt notice the jerk until after taking antidepressants and lorazepam which is a fast acting anxiety pill. Im now stuck with this jerk and insomnia and having to wait for a ent specialist to look at my nose, because of covid my family doctors took a little bit over 2 months to look at it. I have no other signs of nasal cancer, but when i did cocaine weeks prior from my last used which was when i used the drug i got eye, cheek, teeth, and gums pain plus i get nose bleeds from the drug. i have quit cocaine over just 2 and half months and i havent had the sinus problems ever since but my nose is still messed up.

@southernbelladonna78
@southernbelladonna78 4 года назад
It may be turbinate hypertrophy. You can see if that is the problem by looking in your nose with a flashlight. If you need help get one person to hold light etc. If it's turbinate you will see a pink growth that basically is pushed either completely against the septum (the middle straight part of your nose ) or so close to the septum that one nostril feels congested most of the time. It can also cause one sided sinus issues and pressure. I have that now and I remember I could see it!! Was such a relief! Still won't go away on its on without medication, steroids or surgery but isn't life threatening. It's a possibility.

@@cherellethinks Oh ok good. Yeah I have that as well and it deviates to the side where my turbinate is enlarged soon can't breathe at all from that side. I don't know if you have or are thinking of having a surgery to correct the issue, but please read about empty nose syndrome first. It is rare and happens when people have a septoplasty and turbinate reduction surgery. It is an awful complication that has led some people to commit suicide because you feel like you are drowning. If you don't have a turbinate reduction than it isnt a concern, but if your doctor suggests it please give careful consideration. I am still on the fence, but pretty sure that I will end up doing the surgery because I am miserable. Anyway...... congratulations that you have an answer and it isn't the Big C!!!

@@sarahhang735 honestly it went on it’s own really, i think for me when i would worry/think about it that’s what made it worse, i doubt it’s anything bad if he has had it for 2 years, but i am certainly no doctor so if you are worried i would say the doctors as always best to be safe xx

You have health anxiety, not a sinus or nasal cancer. I’m not a medical professional, but I suffer from health anxieties, too, and have done so all my life. I’ve been on an anti-anxiety med, which has helped. I wish you all the best.

Girl, I think you and me should be friends. Right now I have a cold sore on my lip and I am afraid its mouth herpes. Like the bad kind of mouth herpes. I am a bit of a hypochondriac. One time my ear drum kept twitching for days. Like days! It sounded like Morse code in my ear. I looked online and it said cancer it also said an aneurysm. I was freaking out. I went to the doctor and he looked at me like I was crazy. He told me it was most likely allergies. Then finally it went away. But girl I know exactly how you feel.
@a0ch
@a0ch 5 лет назад
Hi Charelle! When I have a niche worry like this, I also remind myself that the incidence is so rare, that it is basically unlikely for me to have this . Btw having one-sided sinus/nose issues is common i would say, I have this too. I also have one more hint. I suffer from allergic rhinitis, and last year, I did some extensive use of nasal sprays. These nasal sprays, they make you dependent on them (your nose is super blocked while you don't use them), and also can cause (after long term use) the unwanted effect of medicinal rhinitis. This means, they actually make your nose more inflamed than it is, and hence, block it even more. I switched to a salt water nasal spray and use only this now to clear my nose a bit before bed. My nose feels a lot better once my body adjusted to not using a proper medicine nasal spray, and now I notice that whenever I use such a nasal spray, my nose blocks up even more. Keep us updated what happens at the ENT :) good luck!

I’ve thought my problem, which is almost identical to yours might be microbe related, possibly a virus or fungus.. Also, maybe due to anxiety or possibly just psychosomatic. Also thought it might be an autoimmune problem.. My search goes on as yours does>>>>>>>>>> Thanks for your video. It’s comforting to realize that you’re not alone.. fresh_soda_pop not much as I recovered just fine. Was lucky not to lose my sense of smell and taste along with it. Don’t underestimate the mental scars that are left behind after your surgical removal and give them plenty of attention. Find someone to talk and don’t ever doubt your nature of thoughts with the uncertainty of the future because you have every right to love yourself right here and now.

I’ve had the exact same symptoms for over two years now.. May 2017-Nov 23 2019, which is today.. I’ve seen 3 ENT doctors said it’s not sinus related, including an ENT at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. I’m going to a neurologist on December 2nd to get diagnosed. Possibly get an MRI or PET scan. I’ve been to 14 different doctors over the last 2.5 years for a total of about 25-30 doctor visits between them..
