well them, plus world class players they - especially Ferguson - helped to develop; for example I started watching PL just coz of Ronaldo, first time I heared of United was because of Ronaldo; never forget his time in United, his relationship with Ferguson, to this day, for me its smth extraordinary in the world of sport in general. And u can see its real - its more emotional coz its more like father-son relationship than professional. And I read recent Ronaldo bio, where all ppl from the Manchester United club & others, plus ppl who know Alex&Ronnie, said its amazing relationship. For example until I read it, I didnt know Alex flew to Madrid in 2015 when Ronaldo had this horrible crisis after Irina left him&they went out to dinner together. I also didnt know, only recently I read, after Euro 2016 they went out to celebrate too.
Its one thing for a club to go through loads of managers, spending hundreds of millions of quid to win a few trophies over a 4-5 year period, but its quite another to help build a club up and leave a lasting legacy to build on. Sir Alex and Arsene Wenger are the last of their kind.
@Creatrix Trodler - Looking at the mess United are in now it makes you realize just how important Fergie was. After Arsene Wenger steps aside I hope Arsenal dont make the same mistakes we did.
***** Who is shit ? Arsenal or United ? IF its Arsenal you need to check the table son, after Fergie left you turned into a mediocre club paying silly money for meh players.
Here you are looking at 16 premier league titles, 12 FA cups, 17 community shields, 4 league cups, 2 champions league titles, 1 super cup, 1 club world cup, 1 cup winners cup, 1 intercontinental cup, 6 LMA manager of the year awards, 13 manager of the season awards, 40 manager of the month awards and 7 Onze d'or coach of the season awards. Legends.
dcvbhtrdf i can feel for you, see i wouldn have said that , butnow since you brought it, united looks so desperate to win trophies that even the context of this video couldn resist people like you to compare arsenal and united, i am a gooner and i still think united is way better team than arsenal , but lemmeteach you einstein , 2013 was the last season when were above us in EPL, so fix that first than compare them, wenger and fergi both are best managers of this era, thats what video says, not comparison of arsenal and united
obviously this comment was before another FA cup win so an update would be 12.... though you also forgot to add IFFHS coach of the year 2 times (Ferguson) and the IFFHS coach of the decade award too (Wenger)
Will Waterman Might be for you, but for me he is the greatest manager of all-time, and I'm an Arsenal fan. You might dislike him in some cases, but respect and admiration are due where they're deserved.
+Will Waterman wth are you saying?opposite of class?are you 5 years old kid?how many years do you watching football?last 3 years?he is the greatest manager EVER...he managed to be on his best until he retired..he got every respect from any other manager and big players...he won 13 premier leagues titles....THIRTEEN...not in the competition which only 2 club races like La liga...in English Premier league which every club has a chance to win..if he is opposite of "class" so other manager looks like a "rubbish"
Such great rivalries we had between Ferguson/Wenger & Keane/Vieira! Our managers and captains! Today they show respect to each other and there's no other way considering everything they've achieved over the years!
SAF is the greatest manager I know, but Wenger has one of the best philosophies. It is a shame that it is hard for it to work in the modern era. Jurgen Klopp got the closest.
Arsenal .fan i hope you're not implying that wenger and klopp have similar philosophies..? because the way they both set out to play football is very different from each other..
David Bun Wenger already has a knighthood just like Fergie, however only British born citizens are able to have 'Sir' before their name. Wenger's full title is Arsene Wenger OBE.
I am a United fan, and it is so great seeing two of the greatest managers side by side and havin a laugh :P I have alot of respect for Arsene Wenger he seems like a good guy!
+NordCarl Wenger is also OBE, but he isn't a British born citizen so he won't get the Sir before his name. Still SAF is better but Wenger will leave a much, much better future behind for the club. The only club to have paid a big modern stadium off, solely by reducing expenses and without the help of Sheikhs and other rich folk.
Arsene Wenger looks like Mr. Burns...LOL....but what Legends these two are, SAF changed Man U forever and would never would be the same team when he left, Arsene won with so much swag at the start then gave his team CL football for soo many years with a average bunch of players when all your stars are being sold, and a massive stadium debt!! Gooners be greatful....These are the originals
im glad i got to see these titans going at it @ their clubs. best era in football history ever!!!! i always look back at those times in premier league. best era ever. really.
I am an arsenal fun, I always respected Sir Alex but this video made me respect him more. I even understood his accent. AW and Sir Alex are by far the best managers in the world.
Jose Mourinho always has a respect to every manager...but he said that when on a match he always is a different guy...that is his style...they all have a different style so dont judge him..Jose Mourinho one of the greatest manager ever...
The two best PL managers. Ever. Made the PL what it is today. 55 trophies between them across all competitions, including one unbeaten season, one treble and five doubles. Outstanding.
i wish if arsenal fans would even consider respecting Wenger some times, like at some . point in season 15-16 they booed him and demanded sacking him. disgusting. he deserves respect, a manager like him staying for over 20 years and he gets that treatment?? wow,, just wow
I miss the epic days of their intense rivalry. It was all consuming. Everybody’s best pals now. I loved the enmity. Keane Vierra, keown Nistelroy, Bergkamp’s penalty v Schmeichel. Warriors all, marshalled by Generals.
Absolutely brilliant, been a united season ticket holder since 86,got a soft spot for arsenal, my dad used to take me to the local games watching arsenal when I was a kid, I remember sat with the arsenal lot at maine Road, probably 1990,went to Oldham a couple of times and even Hillsborough, fantastic club, gutted I never got to Highbury, though I went to have a look just before the 94 Cup final, really pleased these 2 have mellowed over the years, us and arsenal probably will never see these days again, we lived them and nobody can ever take that away..
I'm glad they both became close friends in the end. These two are arguably the most talented managers the Premier League has ever seen. Wenger with his scientific vision and Ferguson with his man management skills. As an Arsenal fan I said Wenger was past it but before Chelsea, City and their suger daddies came along he was a winner up there with Alex Ferguson. Fergie kept it up because he kept reshuffling his assistant manager where as Wenger had yes men around him in the end. Part of me thinks the backroom coaching staff were the spineless ones for not challenging him enough towards the later years of his management.
You don't compare it like that. I am a ManUtd fan but I totally disagree with your statement. Arsense Wenger is not just a bronze, he is in the same league of SAF, trophies isn't everything. SAF indeed won by trophies counts, but the existence of both these managers in the English League is what makes football there interesting and fun to watch as I grew up watching these two managing their respective club.
@@Mattdem 1. French 2. English 3. Spanish 4. Portuguese 5. Deutsch -Germany 6. Dutch - Netherland 7. Japan 8. Italia 9. Welsh Yes He can Speak 9 Languages. Same as Thiery Henry who can speaks 9 language, include Catalan.
I think in the end they are friends. They have done much to popularize football in the world and appreciate each other for it. All the banter for the press is pretty much just a part of the show.
despite their rivalry..in years 2 come when we're all old n past it..arsene n alex will look back on da years with mutual respect.as much as my faith n love of football has faded over the years, when i see these 2 together,it makes me feel good about life 4 some reason.i dont know y.i live in hong kong these days,n for my sins i'm an safc fan.but i guess it makes me feel that despite the divisions in life, football n social class back home, that behind the anger and rivalry,we can come together
That is the way it should be between managers of rival clubs. Not like that mourinho bastard who has absolutely no class. Huge respect for both of them. True legends of the game.
im a die hard arsenal fan but you just have to have a huge amount of respect for fergie what hes done over the years is pure genious and the premier leagues gonna be weird when these 2 retire truly the greatest managers ever
Arsene Wenger is a great manager. He brings out the very best in players which I love. Spectacular. Alex Ferguson is just as good. The way he manages Manchester is exceptional and he isn't as biased as other managers. I admit he does have an anger issue, but that's besides the point.
Ferguson : hey Wenger look over there! theres a bird making love to a dog! Wenger : Where Where? i cant see it!!? Where? Ferguson : ohh never mind they gone now... Wenger : ohh.... :-( ,heyy where is my Van persie?! did you take my Van persie?! Ferguson : nahh of course i didn't i would never do that to you Wenger : oh... damm could you help me look for it? Ferguson : srry mate i gotta run ,that reminds me i will play with a new player next week that looks exacly like RVP but he isn't. Wenger : okay byee... Wenger : waitt.....WHAT??!
I was imagining that Arsene was the manager and Ferguson was by his side as a assistant manager. Oh My God, that would be epic and Arsenal will be a beast with both of them managing. Just imagination.
Indeed and as I said it was a dream then unfortunately for you, you woke up dream on. Why would they join forces at Arsenal when Manchester United are such a bigger club like the Crater in the Grand Crayon is the difference be tween the two clubs.
An absolute privilege to grow up watching these two gentleman lead their clubs to glory. As a 90s kid Manchester United and Arsenal were the only two clubs in football. Barcawho realwho
this scenario is like a gathering after years of bitter war....two generals sharing...you either love them or hate them...cos they r truly pure tacticians...take the game in their heart as part of their mind n soul
That was nice to see, I'm a Manchester United fan and to be honest, Wenger is probably the only other manager I rate highly as Sir Alex Ferguson, they both have experience in all competitions and when there's a match between them, there's always a respect for one another not just between the players, but between the clubs in general. Just wait until May though Arsenal, we'll get ya back =P
besides from tottenham, arsenal have really been a club that shows respect to its rivals lately. Their players always speak good liverpool and wenger n ferguson hv been crediting each other in the last few years too
I agree with you totally.Without these two managers,English football wouldn't be what it is today. They have developed some of the best footballing talent the world has ever seen and have set the standard which other managers strive to achieve. I have nothing but respect for both of them.
I must say, ARSENAL 'TIL I DIE, but this is an awesome interview. i have massive respect for ferguson. good sense of humor too. no need to praise wenger. it's a given...
1:25 wenger: the manager is the most important person at a club.. 1:25 ferguson: oh man, stop the crap.. 1:30 wenger: if not, wy sack the manager when things dont go well.. 1:31 ferguson: ah he does it again, thats deep man
