Can I use slip stitches for sewing the patterns together? I don't like dc for joining, it's thick and not really pretty...

In the pattern for Panel 4 row 3, it does not say do Ch2,. When I came to do this row I did Ch2 due to the rest of the pattern having Ch2 at the beginning.
@stephaniewood3254
@stephaniewood3254 14 дней назад
It’s deliberate that there is no chain 2, it still works, the carried yarn adds the bulk. Use a stitch marker or just ensure you catch the first HTC of the row when coming back across
@BrendaCHughes

@@BrendaCHughes well I did it without the chain and the pattern looks fine but the designer has since clarified that it is indeed a typo 😂 so you were correct to included the chain 2

Hope everyone is enjoying the first week? I am but I would like to know though, is anyone else finding Panel 4 - with the three colour changes and carrying - a bit fiddley? 🥴
@jennifermoore7018
@jennifermoore7018 11 дней назад
I did and then I found I pulled the yarn a little tighter on that row than others so it’s a tad wobbly down the sides. I did better on panel 5 😅I’ll just try and tidy it up on joining the panels 🤞

@A.falling_Leaf 13 дней назад
Do you have access to the pattern PDF? The colors are listed there under "Measurements" (e.g. Yarn A (812 Cream))
@Dada1020eunmi
@Dada1020eunmi 15 дней назад
I think there's two errors for the panel 4. 1. On 3rd row it should start with 2 ch. 2. To get the size 30cm x 15cm (11.75" x 6") we need to work total 18 rows instead 17th.
@jadoreux
@jadoreux 14 дней назад
In the notes on the pattern it says there is 17 rows due to the bulk created by the carrying yarns :)
@jadoreux
@jadoreux 14 дней назад
worth noting though in the actual pattern it says to carry the cream even over the rows that are just HTC stitches and no bobble, instead of cutting at the end of the row like the video states. So you would be missing half (ish) of the height added by carrying the yarns if you follow the video instead of the written, hopefully this makes sense
@Dada1020eunmi
@Dada1020eunmi 14 дней назад
@@jadoreux I understand now. So, based on the pattern, it takes 17 rows to make 15cm when carrying the yarn for Panels 4 & 5. However, if you follow the video instructions, which suggest not carrying the yarns, it requires 18 rows to achieve the same measurement of 15cm. Personally, I prefer not to carry yarn B on the WS, for the same reasons mentioned in the video, as well as A (cream) on all RS. I hope others find this reasoning sensible too. Thanks!

I'm debating which is the lesser evil.... Following the written pattern and carry the other colors.... Or follow the video, not carry the yarn but have a whole lot of ends to weave 😅

@yazdhenab. 17 дней назад
you can find any bobble flower made on RU-vid, don't worry, other have done explicit tutorials before this one. And, maybe, as a beginner, you may should do something less complex for training before. Just keep the pattern in you Sirdar account and return on it when you'll got more skills on the stitches you have difficulties. Here, this one could help you, even if it's not integrated into another piece like this CAL. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VZT9fRTvnXY.html

@@yazdhenab. they actually said it is ok for beginners. Let me say this I learned to crochet 50 years ago. I usually just design my own so following a pattern and tutorial should not be too difficult. However they said beginners can do this.

If this pattern was aimed at experienced crocheters Lindsay would not be teaching how to do the slip knot at the beginning. Take your time and check out the other videos online. I jumped in at the deep end after my first blanket (very wonky blanket) and I just persevered and frogged it when needed. Frogging is undoing stitches btw. Best advice - take your time. Hope this helps and that you have fun with it.

I think it’s only out in UK terms. A UK treble is a US double, a UK double is a US single, simple. A UK half treble is. US half double.
@elspethmcgarey
@elspethmcgarey 17 дней назад
@@pipersmom Thank you for that, I appreciate it. Knowing that won't really help me though, as I'm midly dyslexic and can't read the instructions and do the translation at the same time. If Sirdar don't publish US versions of their patterns I will just have to avoid them in future. I'll see if following the videos is an option for me. If not I'll have to look around for a different pattern. It's a shame because I like this design.😔
