It works well. I made my mast crutch so that it fits two bolts (pintles), one in each gudgeon, and doesn't need the support lines. Yours is about a foot shoorter, though, and might stow more easily. I have not led the halliard back to the cockpit, as you have, but climb onto the bow, because my halliard is not long enough. I like your idea better. Keeps me off of the foredeck or cabin top.
Do you have the length and dimensions of a the crutch. I can estimate them from the video but if you have a general outlay plans for that would be wonderful. Again great voice video, can't tell you how many times i,ve nearly been beaned by the mast tiring to set it up myself.n
Linda Muvic No plans, it was just scrap lumber I had on hand. But the length from the top of the transom to where the mast lands is 52" and the wood is 1"x2". I used a U-bolt to hole a long bolt to the wood at the bottom to seat in the gudgeon. I put a V shaped piece of plywood at the top top help catch the mast. Then some scrap outdoor carpet to lessen chance of damaging the gelcoat. Good Luck!
