Hi, recertified units are typically open box units that were either returned by the original owners for a refund or under warranty. In the latter case, the customer would be getting a replacement unit while we clean, repair, and test the returned units and then repackage them as "recertified". Recertified units may have cosmetic damages but they are functionally identical to brand new units, nothing is broken, and you get the same attachments. You won't, however, get the bonus items that are only included with the purchase of a brand new Sirena vacuum. However, the benefits come from the fact that the Sirena uses a water filter which is much more efficient at trapping hair than traditional bags and that the suction power is always at 100% since you're using "new" water every time you vacuum. The hair may sometimes get wrapped on the roller brush inside the power nozzle, there is no magic happening there, unfortunately. The best recommendation we can give is to clean the roller brush regularly. It's very easy to remove the bottom plate on the power nozzle, remove the roller brush, and clean the hair off of it. You don't have to do this every time, and it will take A LOT of hair to cause any kind of issues with the roller brush, but cleaning it once every couple of weeks is a good idea. Most people dump the water in the toilet or outside (e.g. flowerbed). If there is a lot of hair, some prefer draining the liquid either through a strainer or just doing it very carefully through the smaller opening in the basin and throwing the remaining debris in the garbage.
