Folks are joking about this, but pay close attention to the direction finding part. If you push the "transmit" button on any radio, you're telling this system exactly where you are. In WWII, direction finding was used extensively to fix the position of and subsequently sink German submarines. Now take that idea, and put it in the context of directing drone strikes on Russian field commanders.

I'm not an expert on weapons technology but the advert is indeed very professional..

It's probably a good wide-spectrum SDR with custom software to classify and locate sources. Other than finding out if there's drones or radios about, don't know how this would benefit troops. Can't even locate anything without there being at least two of these in operation. We need demos!

I always wanted a car, but considering the situation I am interested in one.

I'm guessing that it's passive in that it doesn't send and listen like active radar, but it must still send a communications signal of some sort since it apparently doesn't store data. Or at least it doesn't store "sensitive" data. But are the locations of the enemy EW equipment really "sensitive?" Not to the side trying to locate them. The worst thing is when all you want to do is find the enemy's locations, and you end up instead sending not only your own location but the location of every single soldier and piece of military hardware in your nation's armed forces, along with the location of every nuclear submarine on patrol, and a list of your country's top tourist destinations. I also think they could just call any system that is constantly blaring signals "female," and passive systems that listen can be called "male." Cause let's be serious... They tend to talk...a lot. How many ladies are going to be paying attention to a video featuring small hardware anyway, so I can't get in trouble. Unless one of yous guys are planning on snitching. If I had Saab's male EW sensor I would know.

'A passive electronic warfare sensor.' So,....... it's an antenna.

I wonder what bandwidth can it capture and what is the detection range. Seems to be useable only for ground operations. For aerial use you need great range (hundreds of km) to be usefull due to speed of jets.

They could use one of these and an operator at Skinwalker ranch. They have some sort of invisible structure above the ranch. They are hiding it somehow, so you can't see it. You can bounce things off of it. How do they do that? We could use some sensors to figure out how they are hiding it. Who is they? Whoever built that thing is who.
