Oh my god the intro music when a bunch of studio musicians would get together and bang out a gem nowadays you get just OH MY GOD I forget how statuesque Gina Davis was!!!
debgibsonfan So is Earth Girls. These guys were way off in this episode. Their conservatism caused them to pan many of the best-loved movies of the 80s and 90s, while praising boring, now long-forgotten “prestige pictures.” (I still love Siskel and Ebert.)
Earth girls are easy is pretty good. A MTV sci-fi comedy movie. 😁😉 0:00 Intro 0:52 Earth Girls are Easy 👍🌟🌟🌟 5:14 How to get ahead in Advertising 👎🌟🌟 8:28 Commercials 10:00 See No Evil, Hear No Evil 👎🌟🌟 13:25 For Queen & Country 👎🌟🌟 16:47 Commercials 17:50 The Rainbow 👍🌟🌟🌟 22:22 The reviews
“What are your looking for? The motivation of the aliens?” Gene really could be a stiff sometimes. He often seemed to watch movies expecting them to be Citizen Kane.
Post suicide attempt, Pryor was reduced to Stepin Fetchit type nonsense and it was all complete garbage. I remember watching the abysmal "The Toy" and wondering how he was reduced to such garbage. Superman III was another steaming pile of Pryor dogshit. Even his stand up act died, got too preachy. Thank goodness for Richard Pryor: Live in Concert, so I can always go back and see the real, funny Pryor.
Some caller on KGO radio recommended this film when it first came out on video. I rented it with my friend, and we both sat there watching the thing and not laughing at a single thing the movie. Total garbage and a complete waste of time.
Earth Girls Are Easy is pretty awful and runs out of gas after the aliens lose their fur. Interesting to note that Jeff Goldblum and Gena Davis were married at the time, but just months away from getting divorced.
A few of the later movies that were done as a duo (Richard pryor and Gene wilder) just were not very well made and were not funny ,and sad to say Both of them but especially Richard were way past there acting and comedy primes........
@@littlekingtrashmouth9219 That's exactly what I was going to say. I watched that movie again this year because I LOVED Sam Jackson's character in it, but because I first saw it as a teenager, I remember her being much cooler than she looks today. Kind of silly, really. That's a movie that wouldn't get made the same way today.
These two could be real pricks but back then, they were the most popular movie critics so what can you do? I disagreed with their reviews all the time!
Pryor and Wilder were always wildly overrated as a comedy team. Mildly amusing at best in Silver Streak, then progressively more awful in their subsequent movies.
Mildly amusing ? They were hysterical in Silver Streak and just as good in Stir Crazy. After that, not so much. As Gene stated, Pryor lost his edge after his accident. He started playing good natured dopes.
