Siskel and Ebert reviews an American action comedy film "Rush Hour" starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in September 18, 1998. Both really enjoyed this movie for a lots of action sequences, and funny scenes. Which I agree Gene and Roger. Thumbs up for me on "Rush Hour".
Rush Hour (1998) 3/4 👍👍

Rush hour is full of action with big laughs, Chan and Tucker are terrific combination, One is all action & other all talk.

The movie turns 25! I remember watching it back at the second house A familiar but still very fun script All the typical tropes you’d expect are in here but they are bolstered by funny lines of dialogue as well as fun action sequences The movie has still managed to withstand the test of time It turned Jackie Chan into a Hollywood star and gave Chris Tucker the break he needed to make it in the industry featuring his brand of humor The film grossed over $140 million and $244 million worldwide being the biggest opener in September during the 20th century Yet there are cultural stereotypes abound so it’s hard to ignore Still Carter’s reckless bravado, carefree lack of tact, and uncanny way with words makes for great comedic timing Lee’s fight choreography and physical humor add to the fun This was one of the earliest team ups being very diverse pairing a black man and an Asian together which was quite impactful back in 1998 Amazingly this film also gave birth to the Rotten Tomatoes website given the creator was a big fan of Jackie Chan himself It fits along the ranks of the genre with others like Lethal Weapon and Beverly Hills Cop Stinks about Brett Ratner being canceled after the sexual assault allegations controversy in 2017 But there are talks of a 4th movie with Tucker and Chan possibly returning with new filmmakers

The box office hit Rumble in the Bronx was the evidence that Jackie Chan was already a very popular star in USA, but Rush Hour was the peak
