The Duke of Suffolk seemed a bit hesitant to mention that Anne of Cleves was still in friendly contact with Henry’s daughters…Henry himself seemed ponder for a moment. It seems that Henry came to the conclusion that Anne of Cleves would make a very good aunt for his children. Heck even Mary the staunch arch Catholic liked Anne of Cleves after she got to know here better.
Mike Field From what I had read, Henry did not believe that Anne would be so "conformable". He was expecting resistance and was surprised that it did not happen.
anne of cleves was Catholic too. most of her family was protestant, but her mother was a Catholic and raised her as one. but in any case, Mary didn't make enemies id people just because they were protestants. she liked Catherine parr and several others despite knowing they were protestants. she eventually had a falling out with Catherine due to other reasons, not religion
I wish that they had a kiss and a drunken one night stand but talks about and are still friends. If it was 2017 was now they mabey be a couple but am glad they are friends.
@@dejaporter7338 Because Brandon was only supposed to get Mary home from France. To marry her would require Henry's permission--and Mary was still of an age where Henry might choose to have her marry another foreign prince.
@@gidzmobug2323 yeah but she died only 18 months after henry died and anne of cleves died 10 years after henry did and got more money than she would ever be able to spend and several palaces
@@PCD387 Katherine Parr's property was all willed to Thomas Seymour. He was executed after a treason conviction, his property and titles all forfeit. The Duchess of Suffolk became Mary Seymour's guardian; the Duchess petitioned the Council for funds. Some were released, but no one knows what became of Katherine's daughter.
I wish they'd show more of Norfolk as much as they show Suffolk. Also hate that they have Suffolk's wife hate him when their marriage was actually happy.
they should have also showed more of Henry's other close friends who weren't even mentioned in the series. and Catherine of Aragon's too. they made her seems lonely at court but we know that wasn't the case at all in real life, quite the opposite
Most of Brandon's key actions in Series 3 and 4 were, in reality, performed by Norfolk. After Season 1 they seemed to decide they did not need both Norfolk and Suffolk.
Wow. This show is definitely fiction. I hope everyone who watches it realizes that. I've seen so many who watched The Crown act like it's the gospel truth too. from Wikipedia's Mary Tudor page: "In The Tudors (television series, 2007), Mary Tudor is called by her sister's name, Margaret (to avoid confusion with Henry VIII's daughter Mary I of England[25][26]), and played by Gabrielle Anwar. She is depicted as marrying the King of Portugal rather than France (as Francis I had already been introduced in the show as King of France, Mary/Margaret could not be shown marrying his predecessor, Louis XII). The fictional Portuguese king lives only a few days until she smothers him in his sleep.[25][27] She then marries Charles Brandon."
The tudors and the crown are laughable in their accuracy and the thought of some people think they're accurate is ridiculous. What I also hate about the Tudors is how they completely overlooked Henry's marriage to Katherine of Aragon and only showed the end so that they could make way for Anne. I'd have much, much rather seen Henry's love story with Katherine than with Anne. I do believe Henry loved her more than he ever loved Anne. And don't even get me started on the ridiculous costumes
A nobleman having mistresses was accepted behavior back then. Not right, just accepted. The wife, however, was expected to "look the other way". Or, in Henry's case, the mistress was one of his consort's ladies-in-waiting.
@@gidzmobug2323 but this show is false in him taming a mistress. Whenever he married this wife, they had an extremely happy marriage and he never had any mistress
@@ambrosiacanelo9014 they did have a happy marriage, but we don't know for sure that he didn't have mistresses, like we know Henry vii didn't. Charles could have had mistresses that were undocumented and insignificant
My goodness. Mere words cannot express how beautiful Henry Cavill is. My goodness, it is absolute torture. And Jonathan Rhys-Meyers...Not attractive at all. He's made even uglier by his unfounded arrogance.
