If I was OP I would tell them “yes, the children aren’t a part of the feud. But if I do ANYTHING for them they would become part of the feud, so I’m not doing anything for them”. And if the family kept pushing I would tell them “the only thing I would do for those kids is call CPS because the parents can’t take care of their kids, at this time. And if one more person say something to me about caring or doing for their children, I will pick up the phone”. Then I would proceed to do so.
It's even worse because a 3 years engagement is quite long, so it's more likely that the then BF proposed to OP while cheating on her, the niece was probably already born by the time he proposed ...

NTA, NTA, NTA! Those people who dare to call themselves OP’s “family” don’t get it. OP was stabbed in the back and betrayed by two people who she thought that she could trust. And just because those same people who betrayed OP are going through a medical emergency the so called “family” thinks that OP should forget the past and take care of the children who are nothing but a reminder of the betrayal that OP went through? Why should OP be expected to be the one to help look after the children when not only doesn’t she consider the children’s mother family but also the “family” who are bothering OP to “step up and help support family” could just as easily look after the children in their spare time? And OP is definitely right about what would happen if she agreed to help the children. Because her “sister” would probably see it as a means of reconciling and would most likely insert herself into OP’s life when OP doesn’t want anything to do with her. And as for the so called “family” who are saying that OP should look after the children OP should definitely tell them that she won’t be doing anything to help and that if any of them keeps pushing for OP to look after the children or try something to force the care of the children on OP then she will cut them out of her life. Because it doesn’t matter if OP’s “sister” and her husband are going through a troubling situation because they betrayed her so she owes them nothing. Especially her assistance with the children.

Bu them being sister and being family shouldn't also prevent the sister to sleep with OP's fiance for years behind OP's back ? (OP's first niece was 2 years old when she learned she was her fiance's daughter so the fiance cheated on OP for at least 2 years and 9 months before OP broke up with him and he ended up marrying the sister) I don't understand why "but we're family" work one way but not the other ? if they're family, sleeping with your sister partner is a big nono. but she did sleep with her sister partner, therefore, she's not family, if she's not family, OP doesn't have to help in any way !
There is a special place in hell for family members who steals the spouses of family members especially siblings. You force everyone to choose sides and if they're ahole like this family a side with the cheaters. The one betrayed has just been betrayed again and no longer has a family.
1st story: OP's feelings are her feelings. If her family is invalidating her feelings, she can tell them that she is willing to cut them off also. 3rd story: OP's brother's personality and body shape is fair game for shaming. 4th story: OP should have told her fiancé that Jason is actually insulting him, as Jason is calling him a cuckold. In many communities, Jason's joke would have merited a death threat or a beating at the very least. Last story: OP should listen to her friend as her sister obviously is just using her husband's sickness to grab OPs inheritance.

While I would advise against actually doing it, OP could tell her sister and extended family that she'll watch her sister's kids IF she gets to tell them that their father was supposed to marry her, but he cheated on her with their mother and they are both the products of betrayal and cheating. I think it would guarantee that the family and sister would back off.
I hate the let them back in because they are family. Bullshit family doesn't do those horrid things to one another so sis showed she didn't regard op as family. No she needs something she's there crying family. In regards to the op not wanting a relationship with anyone in her sisters direct family i get. The sister is dead to her and so in her mind she has no sister no BIL and no nieces or nephews, they are random people who live local and share family friends that's it.

Ok, how placing 6 sentences makes it a story😮 Packing 10-15 together is kinda lame. Do better, at least 7-10 min per story. A 2-3 min per "story" like you do and packing them is , like it ruins everything.
I personally would just take care of the kids because I can't leave a child in a situation when I know I can help. But that's me man you got to do what's right for you but maybe just maybe suggest someone else to take care of the kids.
