This was an awesome interview. God's continued blessings on his life. Sister Circle Sistas this was great...loved it!!. Montell Jordan answered the call. Won't He do it....talkin bout God of course
Gotta love montell man its sad how the industry black balled him all cause he didnt wanna be the this is how we do it guy. His unsung story is truely deep. He is truely talented
When you're 20 , 40 seems old but when you get there you'll realize it's not that old. I'm 43 and I would say we are youthful because basically we're the hip hop generation so we grew up in a vibrant era with style and flavor which is still impacting the kids today.
Syleena, bae you gon have to do this show alone. I'm not tryna be ugly to the other ladies, but you'd be perfect alone. Anyway, Montell Jordan... I remember when you first came out w/ _This is How We Do It._ That record means the world to me because it feels so good inside. So many memories flood my memory bank. I was in the 5th grade when it came out. Now, the full album was disappointing, but one cut that stuck out for me - _Don't Keep Me Waiting._ You were kind of an Aaron Hall knockoff, but once I saw you perform live, I was all in. Yo' best album is indeed _Let's Ride._ That's when I really became a fan and the body of work was undeniable. A little birdie told me that the lead single, _Let's Ride_ was wack and a throwaway _No Limit_ record. I disagreed because that record defined my life. Oh, and why do people consider _This is How We Do It_ to be the last New Jack Swing record? Nothing about it is New Jack. New Jack Swing phased out in 1992. Anyway, I actually prefer _Somethin' 4 da Honeyz_ over _This is How We Do It._ _Somethin' 4 da Honeyz_ feels really good inside and it reminds me of a hot Summer day. I don't remember anything from yo' _More..._ album. It's a blur. Imma go back and listen to it this evening. _Let's Ride_ is still the lick. My favorite cuts are _Body Ah_ and _Irresistible._ _Get It On Tonite,_ the record is dope, but the album sucks. After that, I have no idea, Montell. I guess that's what happens when you're trendy and the promotion's hit or miss. You stepped away from the music because of a "counterfeit" life, Montell? Really? It's interesting that you "stepped away" when the machine stopped and yo' records stopped being promoted and selling. You were more than happy w/ that counterfeit life while you were making moves. A lot of y'all get saved and turn to gospel when r&b isn't lucrative anymore. I get it. Not judging, but it would be nice to keep it _fonky._
You better have a separate bank account. All the love, trust and prayer in the world can't protect you from being taken for everything you've earned. Beyond that, it also prevents fights about personal spending habits.
Montell sho didn’t look like he aged at all. Syleena, Montell Jordan was not the first R&B singer on Def Jam. Oran “Juice” Jones was the first R&B artist on Def Jam. No shade my sister.
