My family have had a close friendship with the Carmelite nuns for 70 years We could never repay their love and prayers over those decades May God and the Blessed Mother of Carmel richly bless them !
My daughter is a nun with The Servants of the Lord & the Virgin Matara & currently serves her order in Iceland. She will be taking & celebrating her final vows next year 2021( her 8th year of formation)! She thoroughly enjoys her religious life & is continually challenged & fulfilled. She is now teaching a catechism class of 8-12 year olds weekly, is in charge of the kitchen by planning & overseeing all the meals & is taking classes to learn Icelandic. She is not cloistered but her order has several male & female monasteries in Italy that are cloistered. Their order's website for United States is ssvmusa.org
My schooling and some of my working years were with Catholic nuns. In general, they are just like people outside in terms of temperament. Within their own community, there's some bickering, gossiping, showing off, griping, holding grudges, etc, going on. 😁 Admittedly, the contemplatives have less chance to do so.
Thank God for these women, willing to retreat into the mountain, as Jesus did, for prayer. And just to think, they have dedicated their whole lives to this great service! How precious such people are to the kingdom of God! They are praying for all of us - for you, for me, for everyone. Even though most of us don't pray for them, they pray for us. What greater work could anyone ever do than go 'into the closet,' as Jesus recommended, and pray to the Heavenly Father?
PART OF MY CONVERSION STORY (March 4, 22): THE ROSARY AND MERACLES I HAD, etc: Thank GOD for our LADY OF GUADALUPE; when I visited her Shrine in Mexico in Dec. 2012. And I was suffering at the time of "Sleep Apenea" I was healed really while still there - FRARNKLY, my first intensions were to honor her. †Also, when I prayed a few Rosaries to help me to quit cigaretes on May 17, 1998, she answered my prayers immediately, though I was SUPER skeptical at that time. †Truely, when I was inspired to recite one single Rosary in December 12, 2000, I was healed from my unbelief (Jn. 14: 1) - and I tried at the time first to pray OUR FATHER, but I couldn't remember the prayer... And I used to attend few different Evangelical Churches for a few years in Stockholm searching for Truth, etc. †For now I have recently been diagnosed of "THYROID" DESEASE which made my life upside down. I'll continue praying & trusting really! †Since my conversion, I try NOT to miss attending Masses weekly or daily etc. And I pray the Devine Mercy Chaplet daily at 3:00pm. And I NEVER missed. †UNDOUBTLY, Reading & meditating on "Gospel of life" according to daily readings is like my "daily bread"! Also, I like to what some one says: that after every winter comes spring. But "The fool says in his heart, "There is no God"(Psalm14:1) Thank God for the ROSARY prayer, etc 🙏! ††By Saba Korial MIC, & I was born in Middle East, now Christian Catholic & Canadian. 2 Tm 2: 4 & 4: 7
Every prayer is always answered. Those not answered is for the good of us. Our Heavenly father knows what's best for us. They are living a wonderful life and I believe they are in very close communion with the Lord. But this is not a calling for everybody. There is something very pure and wonderful when one sits in silence. Pray they be blessed abundantly.
What wonderful women, to give up their whole lives to pray for us! I admire anyone who can live this type of quiet, dedicated life. I hope lots of young women join them. What a wonderful testimony to the reality of God.
I thank you Heavenly Father for your workers that you sent from heaven maybe learn the love that you have for us will always be in our hearts these women will always have joy in her heart cuz they have our lord Jesus I love you my Lord my mother Mary and Saint Joseph thank you for these women that have hearts from heaven but we all learn from that thank you for this love in life that you've given this amen
Contemplative life is 'the better part' - a call from God to sit at the feet of Jesus, praise without ceasing with the Holy Angels, a witness to Heaven where there will be no marriage, etc. They live, breathe, sing Scripture. Many intentional communities come and go but also some over 100yrs old. Carmel has many saints. A holy way of life. Prayer purifies the Body of Christ.
For those of you are watching this. DO NOT judge these NUNS. They have chosen this life because... 1) they want to be closed to God. 2) Believe it or not they are all praying to all humanities, especially the PRIEST, Holy Father and the Catholic Church. 3) they are the Militant prayers of God. They FAST AND PRAY DAILY 24/7. 4) Lastly, they chosen this life to be closed to the ONE who created the world, animals and YOU. God Bless. Always persevere in prayers daily. God is watching and waiting.
" I am a Jew, but I am enthralled by the luminous figure of the NAZARENE - JESUS IS TOO COLOSAL FOR THE PEN, No one can read the Gospels wthout the feeling of actual presence of JESUS " (Albert Einstein) .
how absolutely beautiful to see these Carmelite sisters in their traditional habits... I'm a Carmelite tertiary and it alwsys fills me with love to see the Carmelites in their proper habit. . the conciliar one have removec their toque and replaced it witj a white head band.. yeuch!
I admire their faith and their simple life. How one in the outside world tries to find joy in drugs or other addiction is for them a joy but is harmful to oneself and the community around them ..the nuns find joy through their love of God without harm to themselves and their prayers help others
A beautiful example of prayer and work for God. Instead of splitting theological hairs. With every retreat I've spent at a monastery, I've learned so much more about God's love, just by being there, than from so many over-analytical theological books or discussions. God bless you, ladies.
Thank you for sharing this it's so uplifting for my Catholic faith beautiful to see the love and faithfulness to our Lord and holy Church.what a beautiful life.all for the glory of God.
thank you God Bless You beloved Sisters that you pray for every soul on earth ! If only the world knew how important souls are who sacrifice themselves for others and pray for them.
I admire these nuns. They are genuinely doing God's work. They look happy and very peaceful.I also want to get closer to God,and I'm struggling and losing hope. Please pray for me.
@@francis5326 . are you from Dublin. Wonderful. I had been studying English in Dublin for 7 months till April 2022. right now I am in Poland because of my vaccation but from July I will be in Dublin or drogheda
This is real Dedication.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💐💐💐💐💐💐💐😇👼😇👼😇👼😇 Outside living is so modern and the nuns are so closed in almost compared to a life in prison.
Praying for what No marriage children or money Many are kept against their will They get abused by priests and other nuns They can’t talk and no bibles It’s a cult Prat for them
Very informative narration, and documentary, of the daily lives, of These clostered, Carmelite nuns. The individual Sisters narration of their lives, convey, a deeply global, peaceful experience. Thank You Sisters for all Your Great Work!
Their activities are not a waste. They are the spiritual "frequency holders" as Eckhart Tolle would put it. That powerful energy they create helps balance out all the evil in the world that is created every day.
They are really happy really really happy face and happy eyes. I'm barber I see many face and eyes. You can't see many people like this happy. What is the secret 🤔
THERE IS A WONDERFUL BOOK CALLED THE WAY OF DIVINE LOVE, ALSO AVAILABLE ON VIDEOS ON LINE - AND OUR LORD SPEAKS SO LOVINGLY AND WONDERFULLY TO HIS CONSECRATED SOULS. IT IS AWESOME HIS MESSAGE TO THEM! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS.
A BEAUTIFUL PRAYER FROM WAY OF DIVINE LOVE THAT JESUS ABSOLUTELY LOVES US TO SAY, AND THE MEANING THAT IT HAS TO HIM WHEN WE SAY IT. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME AND ANOTHER POWERFUL PRAY OUR LORD JESUS GAVE TO SR. JOSEFA FOR US ALL TO SAY FOR SOULS! GOD BLESS. As Josefa was saying some prayers; the Litany of the Sacred Heart and she had a little time left over to pray.. so she took the Invocations of the First Friday Novena, and when she arrived at the words; 'To Thy close union with the Heavenly Father I unite myself', Jesus suddenly appeared to her in radiant beauty. And she continues: "His raiment seem to be woven of gold, His Heart was a blazing furnace and from the wound in It came dazzling light. I renewed my vows and begged Him to pardon me for being so cold in His presence. It seemed to me though that it was not from want of love, because I love Him more than anything on Earth. . . . He listened to me and looked at me, and then said: "Do you know, Josefa, that that prayer is so pleasing to Me and is of such worth, that it far surpasses the most eloquent and sublime ones that could be offered Me. What is of greater value than My Hearts union with My Heavenly Father?. . . When souls say this prayer they penetrate, as it were, into My Heart, unite themselves to God, and this is the most supernatural act that can be done here below, for by it they begin to live a heavenly life which consists of nothing else than the perfect and intimate union of the creature with its God and Creator. " 'Continue your prayer, Josefa, for by it you adore, repair, merit and love. Yes, go on with that prayer, and I will continue the work of love.' " "Then she said I committed all my distresses to His Heart," she wrote, "and He replied: 'Be not disquieted. . . it is I Myself who am directing everything.' " ANOTHER PRAY SO POWERFUL, OUR LORD GAVE TO HER FOR US ALL TO SAY: "O God most holy and just . . . Father of all clemency and of infinite goodness. Thou who didst create man out of love and through love has made him heir to eternal blessings; if he has sinned against Thee through frailty and if he deserves chastisement, accept the merits of Thy Son who offers Himself to Thee as a Victim of expiation. By those divine merits, forgive sinful men, and deign to reinstate them as heirs of Heaven. O My Father, pity and mercy for souls."
@@Germanchickkk I'm using the term 'religious' in it's narrow sense, meaning monastic. Without going down the rabbit hole of whether religions are good or bad, my point is that many people would find happiness in a communal setting if they only had the option.
@E Dogg36 Tell it to my dad, who was an orphan, raised by decent people in a church orphanage, sent to college on a church scholarship. Also my wife, who was raised in the Methodist church very happily.
THIS IS FROM WAY OF DIVINE LOVE - SISTER JOSEFA MENENDEZ - A SPECIAL POST ON CONSECRATED SOULS FROM THE VERY WORDS OF JESUS Please . . . . share generously with others, Especially with Consecrated souls. Thank you very much ~ and God bless you and yours. 🙏👑🕊️🌹 And He said to Sister Josefa: "And now write for My consecrated souls." It was the last time Josefa would transcribe the burning desires of the Heart of Jesus for them: "I call them all - My priests, My religious, and My nuns - to live an intimate life of union with Me. "It is their privilege to know My longings and to share in My joys and sorrows. "There's, to labor at My interest, never sparing themselves trouble or pain. "Theirs, by prayer and penance, to make reparation for many, many souls. "There's, above all, to become more and more closely united to Me and never to abandon Me, never to leave Me alone! Some do not understand and forget that it is for them to give Me companionship and consolation. . . . "And finally, it is for them to combine together in a league of love making but one in My Heart, to implore for souls the knowledge of truth, life and pardon. And when they see with deep sorrow the outrages I receive, My chosen souls will offer themselves to make reparation and to labor at My work; let their trust be unhesitating, for I shall not refuse their supplications, and all they asked will be granted them. "Let them all, then, apply themselves to the study of My Heart and to understand My feelings, striving to live in union with Me, to converse with Me and to consult Me. Let them cloth their actions in My merits, bathe them in My Blood, and consecrate their lives to the saving of souls and the extension of My glory. "Let them not desend to personal reflections which belittle them, but rejoice at seeing themselves closed with the power of My Blood and of My merits. If they rely on self, they will do little or nothing, but if they labor with Me, in My Name and for My glory, they will be powerful. "Let these consecrated souls revive their desire for reparation, and beg confidently for the advent of the Divine King: that is, for My universal Sovereignty. "Let them be burnt up with zeal and charity for sinners. . . Praying for them with compassionate hearts and treating them with all gentleness. "Let the world hear from their lips how great is My kindness, My love and My Mercy. "Armed with prayer, penance, and reliance on Me, never on self, let them go forward to their apostolic labors in the power and goodness of My Heart which is ever with them. . . . "My apostles we're poor and ignorant men, but rich and wise in the wealth and wisdom of God, and their watchword was: In Thy Name, oh Lord, I shall labor and be all-powerful. "I ask three things of My consecrated souls: "REPARATION, that is a life of union with Him who makes Divine Reparation: to work for Him, with Him, in Him, in a spirit of reparation, in close union with His feelings and desires. "LOVE, that is intimacy with Him who is all Love, and who humbles Himself to ask His creatures not to leave Him alone, but to give Him their love. "CONFIDENCE, that is trust in Him who is goodness and mercy. . . . With Him whom I live with day and night. . . . who knows me and whom I know. . . . who loves me and whom I love. . . . In Him who calls His chosen souls in a special way to live with Him, to know His Heart and so to trust Him for everything." This concludes His Message, and then the following is written: The last lines of the Message were written. . . . Josefa noted down what her Master wished her to communicate from Him to the Bishop of Poitiers, whom she was expecting shortly, then she laid down her pen. A few instants pass in Love's embrace. . . . Gods secret. . . . How solemn was the hour which marked the termination of Our Lords Appeal to souls.
Some say what if there is no God. Well All of us will surely die even there is no God. If you live a life of happiness you will just be upset and depress thinking that it is on an ending stage when you are dying even there is no God . It is the same on both. We all will experience sadness at the time of death even there is no God. But even there is no God. All of those who live for God are happy in their hope of eternal life. When the time of their death comes they are much happier knowing they are coming to eternal happiness. They die peacefully even there is no God. Even there is no God, both life will just come to an end and those who live in happiness will be much in sorrow saying goodbye to all those happiness in their life. But what if there is God. When they die, the life of those who live in happiness rejecting God will end and the torment begins for eternity and those who live for God will just start the happiness that will never end. Look how life on earth is arranged beautifully. The stars, the moon, the sun, the animals, the plants, the human being. Do you think they are just a product of co incidence? Do you think there is no one who arrange them? Do you really think there is no God? Well the best thing you can do is accept whatever life it will be for you and live it always for God. Even it is a life of happiness or not, live it for God. If there is no God, then at least, you will die peacefully. But when there is God then it is the start of your never ending happiness. The only worst thing you will do is to live without God in your life.
What’s the problem? Just because most people don’t choose it, couldn’t live it, these sisters have! No one was kidnapped and taken by force! They aren’t bothering anyone. People who can’t stand it that others exist who don’t agree with them, something is mentally off.
AWESOME EXCERPTS FROM WAY OF DIVINE LOVE: PAGE 362: There is a prayer to say after this Awesome narration of all He said to Sr. Josefa on His Sufferings and Wounds and His Tremendous Love for souls in desiring to SAVE them All! Sr. Josefa relates: "His Wounds," she write "were open and from them issued flames. In one hand He carried the Crown of Thorns and the Nails; with the other He held up His Cross. " 'Josefa are you willing to listen to My desires: See My Wounds! O! that I could draw in all sinners! " 'Yes, into these Wounds many sinners must be drawn this night. . . . Take My Cross, My Crown and the Nails . .. I go in search if sinners and I shall enlighten them when they are on the point of falling into the bottomless pit, that they may find their way home. " 'Take My Cross; guard it well. . . .you know that it is a great treasure.' "At that same moment," she wrote, "I felt the heavy weight of the Cross on my shoulder. " 'My Crown,' and He pressed it down upon my head. "I crown you Myself, and the wounds caused by it thorns will obtain enlightenment for bling souls. " 'Take , too, the Nails. . . . See how I trust you; but then you are My well beloved, so I have no fear in confiding them to your care. I know they will be safe. { Oh how tender is this sentence! } " 'And now I go in search of souls, for I want them all to know and love Me!' "And as He uttered these words, His Heart shone with incomparable brilliancy . . . and He continued speaking with the same vehemence: " 'I cannot any longer restrain My love for them . . . love so strong must triumph over their callousness. O Yes they must love Me! I want to be their King. Let us draw them all into My Wounds. . . . I go in search of them, and when I have found them, I will return and take back My Cross. Suffer for Me, Josefa . . . but wait, before I go, let Me sink the arrow of purifying love into you . . . for pure you must be, like all who are My victims.' The same flame issued from His Heart as on previous evenings; then I saw only His Sacred Heart, till gradually all faded away." A Prayer: "Oh suffering Lord Jesus Christ, may we also have this purifying arrow to be able to serve and love You with all our hearts. Keep us all from the connotations and corruption and deceits of this world, with unlimited purity of intention in building up Your Father's Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven...in caring for souls - being on fire for their conversion and salvation. Give us the Graces dear Savior Jesus Christ to be All that you so desire us to Be! Show us best how to win souls for You! Give us this Divine Thirst for their salvation! Holy Spirit guide us! Posses us to Do the will of the Father! Mold us, use us. . . . Let us be another Jesus Christ to this world! ~ See the sincerity in our souls to be All that God Wants us to be! In Jesus Christ's Name we pray, the Name above all names. Amen and amen. We love, bless, worship, adore, trust, praise and thank You and Surrender our hearts to Your Divine Sacred Heart! Amen and amen."
This may sound like a weird question, but how do they communicate if there's an emergency during the time of silence (e.g. if a sister gets sick/ hurt) and are they allowed to talk if they're at an appointment?? I wasn't raised Catholic, but lutheran, but I have LOTS of respect for Catholics...maybe even more.
It is not weird at all. In the case of an emergency during the great silence the Sisters are permitted to speak because charity overrides every law. Yes even going out for appointments silence does not apply.
A more perfect understanding of this celibate, God focused and community intense life comes from the very purpose of Christian life itself: the ultimate enjoyment of a New Heaven and a New Earth after the Resurrection of the Dead under the Light and Glory of the Risen (victorious over sin and death and all evils) Christ. The Sisters’ lives are a testimony to the world to come where people do not marry or are given in marriage as Christ says in the Gospel.
@paul w why would I need to minimize the damage when we Catholics have already acknowledged the wrong done to so many people throughout it's history? How about the many who are sexually abused at home by their own family members and go unnoticed? Yes the crime committed by a few of the clergy should not colour the many who are faithful in their calling.
The Pope has been Executed, thank you, God. the mockery with the said Pope is over. Over 300 Cardinals were also Executed, all the pedophiles are dead.
+Cherryl Magdangal it also depends because in different countries some wear veils without the toque while the sisters who wear the toque the veil is usually tucked under the scapular and they also wear the top veil for Mass or when they go out.
yes they are very lucky to have this life because they're the angels we are the singers because we done all the bad things and I should also to be like a nun but it's the God not call everybody so I think for me now I'm thinking they are the winners you know in the world they win but we don't win anything we win the half of the hell ok bye
While we do not wish to scorn others religious beliefs, I wouldn't be a Nun for all the money in the world, I mean, the very word says it all, NUN, None of this and definitely none of that!!!
Exactly. But, you're free to love your Groom, Christ, without a single worldly item distracting you. I'd say the devil' done an excellent job in conning billions into thinking they need all kinds of crap. I'm learning the more I donate or give away, the freer I feel. They're richer in spirit than billionaires.
What a sad testimony to false religion. Where in the Bible did Jesus tell his followers to shut themselves up behind walls and locked doors? Nowhere! Instead, he told his disciples to "go and make disciples...teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matt. 28:19, 20)
gran rafaela Agreed. John Parker does not know what he's talking about. That explains why he can't explain what the scriptures he listed say about one isolating herself from the rest of humanity as being a requirement from God.
In order for our our bodies to move and for our limbs to achieve work we need lungs to breathe. They are invisible and we may be tempted to think they are useless, but.... While not being able to say anything about this particular monastery, I should say that a true monk is a lung, a little window out that brings to all of us the pure air of Heaven on which the world runs and moves ahead. Elijah in the desert didn't do much, nor did Jesus during the 40 days of fasting, but these days were as much necessary as were the days of active mission.
people are self-centred vain greedy jealous selfish lustful deceitful manipulative materialistic etc.if the rich & super rich could share & distribute their wealth to poor/less advantage d people the world would be a better place.but this will never happen because we as human beings lack love empathy & compassion
With all due respect for these ladies, they are not doing the work that Jesus gave us to do -- winning souls for the Lord. Instead they have run away to hide under the covers away from the world. I, too, would like that lifestyle -- gardening and meditation. There are other nunneries that actually do a service such as teaching & nursing, etc. At least those nuns are out there facing the world head on and still being faithful to God. Everyone is to be out there winning souls to God, being loyal to Jesus, serving others as instructed by Jesus, you do not segregate yourself to do that. No, I don't see this particular order as doing any sacrifice on their part at all.

To paraphrase Thomas Merton, “In the night of our technological barbarism, monks (and cloistered nuns) , must be as trees which exist silently in the dark ,and by their vital presence, purify the air.”
What a waste of life. The gospel of Christ teaches quite the opposite. We're supposed to go out there and invite others to come to Christ, not lock ourselves up in a convent. It's simply not biblical. I'm not so sure they're that happy.
Js Dallasguy living a Christian life in a very sinful world is difficult and the monastic life is meant to be a God fearing one where we are able to focus all our live in prayer and fasting from all earthly passions. All people are welcome to become Monks and nuns but few will answer, as for it not being biblical is not true. The prophet Baptist John lived a very similar lifestyle in constant prayer away from the world
@@proudalbanianjcdenton7129 I wonder What would have happened had Peter Paul and all the other great apostles licked themselves up in a monastery, the gospel of christ would not have been known. True christians are supposed to be the light of the world, yes we live in the world but we're not of this world. And in case you are wondering I grew up Catholic and attended Catholic school but I believe the church is wrong on this and many other things. I carry the joy and the salvation of Jesus Christ within me therefore I am called to make disciples of all nations and spread the good news of the gospel
Js Dallasguy Monastics in the church have given given greatly to the church. The Profit Elijah has foretold many prophecies of the coming of our Lord and savior, Saint Anthony the great who had fought off Satan himself through prayer writings are still read today says that we can save hundreds around us by setting an example. The duty of a monk is not done out of fear or cowardice but bravery to act towards what God calls for us to do, otherwise we would not have had Saint Hermit of Alaska or Saints John the Baptist act as an Apostle to the world. Saying that monastics can’t bring good would be to better ignore the many people here as well as other Catholic monastic Saints that you may have forgotten
Perhaps it is not for one to judge what is worthy of another's life. But to each their own. They're not hurting anybody. They are living an honorable life committed to prayer. 🥰
