New episode fight scene The mysterious Sith Master revealed as Qimir, Yord Fandar and Jecki VS Qimir, Sol got beaten. Sith Lord want to kill Mae and Osha, Mae run away from Qimir. #starwars #theacolyte #jedi
That's some incredible combat awareness I wanna think this is what they meant when Kreia/Darth Traya said "The duels of now are child's play compared to the duels of the Sith of old"
You have to realize that the age of the Jedi was on brink of extinction over and over again thus those having the lack of training and experience to fight like they did before if you pay attention throughout all the films beside Vader and fallen Jedi in Canon it was a dead art, that's why in the war council of New Hope Imperial officers called it a dead religion and Vader was the only remnant of that remain
@@pumpkinkingca2010 I understand the lack of fight choreography in the OT given that lightsaber fighting was a lost art, however ST doesn’t get that leeway. Luke studied for years after the OT, he had students, a school, he was training Leia. He knew of the other forms. Ben Solo would have know something lore than swing and stab. No real excuse about the sequel trilogy fight choreography.
@@austindeivert1198 absolutely agree. His head butting and the way he used his wrist cortosis band made it such a feral and brutal fight. It’s like watching someone who only ever learned Karate fight a full fledged MMA fighter. He completely outclassed them.
The armor he has on is Cortossis. It's not even a debate because Cortossis can actually short lightsabers out for a bit, which we do see here. And actually is a close contender to Beskar in terms of its protection. Like if a lightsaber is powerful enough and doesn't short out it immediately could cut through Cortossis. It's just that like I said Cortossis is pretty damn tough and a close contender to Beskar. Additional fact the Electrostaffs used by Magnaguards are actually plated with Phrik. Which is rare and tough and resistant to Lightsabers. Keyword is resistant as eventually it will wear away and can be cut by lightsabers.
@@StaightJoc Ya he was like Hmphh easy work he was weaving all of their attacks and the female Jedis got bitched it was like Yall DIsney bull shit got thrown out the window and they all got squad wiped
It is literally explained in The Last Jedi that the Force strives for a balance between the Light and the Dark Side. If there are 5000 users of the Light Side and only 1 user of the Dark, that one user will be 5000 times stronger than each individual Light Side user. That being said, when the Dark Side user becomes dominant, the Force strives for a counterbalance in an exceptionally skilled Light Side user. Because Jedi act as an order, whereas the Sith operate only as a pair, the Force significantly favors the pair more because the Force strives for a perfect balance. It's one of the more interesting ideas of TLJ entirely thrown away in ROS
@@dahakaguardianofthetimelin4780 That kind of makes the force a tad… Scary. You’re basically saying, by this stated logic, that _The Force Itself_ wants a forever war between good and evil, and it will actively empower the weaker side to achieve its desired “Balance”, even at the cost of ruining countless lives. It’s basically like Kronika’s idea of a “Perfect” timeline in Mortal Kombat where Good and Evil are literally even in power and are locked into eternal conflict. But I guess that’s why the franchise is called _”Star _*_WARS”,_* isn’t it?
@@dahakaguardianofthetimelin4780 That’s incorrect. George Lucas explained that balance of the Force means eliminating the darkside. He stated that the Sith or Darksider users needed to die in order for the Force to be balanced because only the light side is balance. He said that the Dark Side is a cancer on the Force. That’s why the Prophecy refers to the Chosen One (Anakin) destroying the Sith and restoring Balance to the Force. In 2010, George Lucas said that true balance is light side harmony and eliminating the Dark Side forever. So what you said is wrong. The Force cannot be balanced if the Dark Side exists. I don’t know why fans failed to understand what balance of the Force means when George Lucas explained it a hundred times. You can google his quotes on it.
@@Morten_Storvikyea but that’s luke skywalker… son of the chosen one, if this guy isn’t plagues or someone else equally important this is all B.S, Jedi are dog water in this show
@@Servantoftheartsyou are probably the most dumbest star wars fan ever… There’s literally thousands of force users that can do this…. Way before anakin even in comics and games…. So dumb What’s next? Gonna say the force is exclusive to the chosen one or smth?
What I loved about this show, especially The Stranger, is that his style is so distinct from the other sith we’ve seen- dooku is elegant, maul is wicked fast, Vader is just power, Qimir brings this sort of brutality alongside this extremely skilled swordsmanship- it’s just phenomenal to watch
You really get the sense of what the Sith have had to do to survive that millennia after their supposed extinction. In the Old Republic, they were equal to Jedi. But now, one Sith Lord is refined enough to take on the entire Order.
Rey wasnt a good duelist, she was only powerful in the force. Kylo literally decimates her everytime once his head in fully in the game, as we saw in ROTS
They were trying to go for reality which is true. A human would be tired from wielding an and swinging. But Yk Star Wars. Still choreography was good, show is still ass
@@talnomix3164 I have to disagree, this one gets constantly interrupted by crappy dialogue and has a lot of silly moments where they forget that they're holding weapons or decide to run away even though they just beat their opponent like they're in some horror movie. It's definitely the best choreography we got from Disney SW so far but it doesn't beat the prequel fights
@@normaluser333 Duel of thr fates on the other hand was interrupted by strange montage decision and average camera work. I still remember when Obi Wan tried to something weird with his head which shouldn't have happened. Vader vs Obi Wan from prequels is better. Duel of the fates isn't.
Well to be fair, these Jedi masters are weak since they live in a peaceful time for a long time and aren't even used to fighting against a Sith. They're even surprised that the enemy is using their weapon against them lol.
Not sure it works though because the writers haven't established why Jecki is so much better of a lightsaber duelist than the 5 knights who got one shotted before she easily lasted full minutes clashing with Smilo on her own. They've actually kind of characterized her as the more bookish Hermione type to this point than a vicious brawler
@@a_rapidly_deflating_mattress it’s not about your title it’s about your skill level everyone knows that by now, you can’t paint every padawan the same just like in real life some people are naturally better gifted at things than even the most experienced
@@buckseyboy OK well then it's the writers' job to explain to us prior to this fight that she's not a regular padawan and is actually a wunderkind duelist just waiting for her shot. Instead the only characterization of note that we got is that she's crushing on Occupational Health and Safety Administration. It's just bad writing dude
Darth Vader: I have fought and killed a single Jedi multiple times Count Dooku: I fought 2 Jedi at once Maul: I fought 2 Jedi at once and killed one of them Palpatine: I fought 4 Jedi at once and killed 3 of them Qimir: ...
Cool thing is Qimir’s armour is made of cortosis, hence why he could block lightsaber blades and short them out by headbutting or punching them. Rare Disney W, making cortosis canon. Also this lightsaber choreography and Qimir making use of Tràkata at 0:47, fantastic stuff. The sequel could have used this.
And Qimir takes full advantage of the fact that the brittleness of cortosis means the Jedi are not taking it seriously. And he takes advantage of the confusion from their lightsabers short circuiting.
I'd argue the Snoke Throne Room fight against the Praetorian Guard was up there with Prequels fights. And the final Kylo Ren vs. Rey fight on the Death Star. The Anakin vs Count Dooku fight in the Prequels was the weakest Prequels fight. It was largely extreme closeups of Anakin's and Dooku's faces while we see the light from their lightsabers but we can't see them swinging them.
@@M86-l2y No...not in the slightest...look at the throne scene slowly again and you'll see that the choreography was all over the place. Blades not connecting with anything/anyone, Guards falling over for no reason or twirling uselessly in the background.
@@M86-l2y I disagree with you. The one with the most close ups is Palpatine vs Mace Windu (and the disgusting faces by Ian McDiarmid BTW), followed by Dooku vs Anakin on Ep2.
"Impossible, the Sith have been extinct for a millennia." "I do not believe the Sith could have returned without us knowing." "Except for that time like 80 years ago when one guy showed up, killed like 20 Jedi, had a red lightsaber, and said he was a Sith." "Yea besides that." "Anyways, lets ignore it." "K" I love when that happened in Episode 1. My favorite part of the lore.
The prequel trilogy confirmed that the Jedi can and would lie about the Sith (Dooku’s role in the Clone Army). If this incident was resolved relatively fast, who is to say they wouldn’t have covered it up to preserve their reputation? Not to mention that the series isn’t even over yet. No doubt the finale will have an explanation for this inconsistency
The Jedi sat on the resurgence of the Sith for a decade rather than deal with it after "Phantom Menace". Do you really think they wouldn't make this disappear into the archives as well?
The Jedi literally lapsed over the past 1,000 years. Bane and the Rule of Two Sith foresaw this and manipulated the degradation of the Jedi and the Galactic Republic. Average, no named, Jedi Masters are usually equals to Sith Lords; except for rare cases like Exar Kun or Revan. Which the Jedi always had their own Light Side counterparts to match or surpass those powerful Sith. The Rule of Two essentially are all these exceptions at large. The Jedi as an Order regressed significantly. They focused almost exclusively on blaster combat and vibroblade opponents, who were often not Force-sensitive. While they could hold their own against other Force users, they just weren't the same as the Old Republic Jedi. The Clone Wars Jedi represented the height of their Order, with incredibly powerful individuals who could have been Grandmasters in the Old Republic. However, the average Clone Wars Jedi would likely lose to their Old Republic counterparts. Honestly, even the old Mandalorian Crusaders would probably wipe the floor with them.
Finally they show a kid jedi knight prodigy who's cunningly wield a lightsaber like Jecki since young Ahsoka. Sadly she died and let her rage consume it while approaching Qimir.
ah yes the bronze looking metal alloy from another planet that the samurai used after the shogun set up the intergalactic samurai trade network, very feudal japan indeed
Honestly my main issue with lucas' star wars was how he wanted to make greivous some kinda mustache twirling villain. Like imagine the prequals werent aimed at kids and the opening to ep3 was just greivous clearing a path through corusant
@@SnakeEater776I don’t think grievious being the way he was due to being for kids (look at order 66). It just came down to the cartoon one being made before Lucas chose what he wanted him to be. And well, cause it came after the show, he feels underwhelming
@@pian-0g445 i dont exactly remember the source (probably an interview with lucas) but i remember him stating that he wanted greivous to be a sort of mustache twirling villain, which tbh doesnt make for a good feared jedi hunter
look at how she moves, how she reacts as each sister. OSHA is trying very hard to stay under control, and it shows. Look at Mae, there's a lot more emotion coming through Also watch Hunger Games, the skill is there. We don't judge Hayden's ability based on AotC
If the actress is giving that type of performance it's because she was directed to. Actors don't just show up on set and do what they want. They film scenes multiple times and the director instructs them on what they want from their performance each time. In post production they chose the performance they feel fits their direction for the scene/show.
i think this choreography is on par if not better than rots. the fight looks brutal, and it doesn't looks like they're just aiming for each other's swords like in the prequels. if anything, only the Jedi in this episode were fighting that way, while the Sith was only going for killing swings which is exactly how i would think a fight with egotistical Jedi that haven't been in an actual duel before vs a bloodthirsty Sith would go. that being said, it doesn't save the show from having awful storytelling
Yeah, no, although absurd, prequel were much more lore accurate and epic due to the quick movements, this one is probably the best since disney took over.
Yeah, that was my main criticism of the lightsaber choreography of Nick Gillard in the Prequels. He focused TOO MUCH on the lightsabers and not enough on the wielders. A lot of Prequels battles look like they're aiming for each other's sabers instead of trying to hit their opponent. Thid battle took the best of the Prequels era fights and combined it with the weightiness and deliberate nature of Originals and Sequels fights. The Originals and Sequels fights made them feel like they're actually aiming for their opponent, but also made the lightsabers seem too heavy and clunky. Like they're wielding a heavy-ass Claymore or something. I think this fight and the Ahsoka fights in my opinion are the best mix. The agility and athleticism mixed with actually going for your opponent instead of showing off how deftly you can spin your sword.
@@TheRoadToArea51qimir was using the force to push them up like “yeah this’ll look fucking sick” (production wise it was a weird compromise they had to do to bring a bit more light to the scene using the burns on the trees while keeping the set clear for the fight)
@@drointhewind480 Obi-Wan was only a Padawan by title. Qui-Gon told the council that Obi-Wan was ready to be a Knight before they went to Naboo and faced maul.
she isn't, he finds her interesting and she's more bold thn the rest, so he is willing to let her show him all of her power. The older Jedi are too controlled, they are not as engaging, so he kills them quickly. I love Jecki, she and Sol are the best two characters in any of these shows, but it's pretty clear to me from his words and attitude that she didn't make hm work THAT hard PLus from what Vernstra was saying in the next episode, it sounds like aside from Sol, these Jedi were pretty weak. A strong apprentice on her best day putting up a better fight than a Knight or Master who wasn't specialized in fighting could totally happen. Ahsoka at 17 would probably beat most of the pre war Order
0:48 he used a forbidden technique amongst the sith and jedi called trakata, it is used by turning off the lightsaber mid fight then turning it back on to trick the enemies
probably the best scene in the entire series, one of my favorite lightsaber duels now as well, alot of the saber fights are them aimlessly flailing their glowsticks around, this fight is definitely not that, every single hit is intentional, i love it, though the series is kinda mid, hopefully it gets better, but we'll see, this is my own opinion, but i honestly think this fight matches up to some of the fights in the prequels, the choreography is amazing
I mean he really didn't. The moment she actually did any damage to him he diced her up. It felt like he was playing with his food, which fits the sadistic personality the guy has.
All depends on how far back the show is set, since the answer ranges from a vague hundred to more than. Teneborous and Plageus were from fairly long lived species, so where Qimir fits in who knows. Alternatively Qimir could be pulling a non-canon move and searching for an apprentice while he himself is apprenticed, which has precedent in legends anyways. Or of course, he could just be from some dark offshoot force sect that could’ve existed who knows where/when; after all, dathomirians are apparently extra-galactic now, so who the hell knows.
@@swrodgon the show is set at least 100 years before phantom menace according to Wiki. Besides, Sith Succession requires the student to kill the master.
All the cuts to the girl are insane absolutely breaks the scene so many times to just see her standing there like a mong, such a shame because the fight was actually top tier
Because lgbt people exist and would inevitably become jedi or otherwise. The same as they exist in real life in all industries, professions and vocations. Quite simple really.
If there's one good thing about this horrible show. Is that they got the lightsabers finally right this time. Unlike in previous films, they actually slice through their opponents, and in Kenobi where the lightsabers where to thick and bright. They did a good job mixing between prequel lightsaber affects and modern affects with the actual light up saber prop
Great fight scene, no question about that from me-but never have I ever seen a more perfect representation of the phrase “standing with your d--- in your hand” than those two Jedi looking at each other while their sabers shoot sparks instead of trying hand or force combat.
WHy do people hate this show? I loved it. I am so glad I am not a fan, because I just can't live in a constant state of misery like these weird ass fans.
Bad characters and writing. It’s pretty obvious when you watch the shows and movies idk why you’re so confused. However, I have to acknowledge when they did something good. And they COOKED with the lightsaber choreography. Idk why it took so long for them to get it right again.
Jecki was a REAL one. She went head first and fought him on a stalemate idc how she was disrespected towards the end she went out like a G! Im loving this direction - kill off characters even though they seem significant in the storyline. And whew this villain is SPICY!!!
As much as i think the acolyte is shit, i gotta give em props for this fight. Like its no prequal fight but its probably the best disney has done. It made qimir the only disney star wars villain that i felt was a genuine threat. But most importantly, lightsabers actually kill people again. But did they really need trees blocking half the shit all the time, like i get the age ratings but really?
Am I the only one who isn’t impressed with the choreography? It’s way better than the sequels but like…I wasn’t wowed. Either I’m missing something or we gotta lotta Disney simps
Disney simps. Look closely and you'll see most of this is just swinging in the air. The Jedi aren't even trying to hit him or his saber. Like they're swinging over each other's heads.
Disney simps for sure. IDK how anyone can say a fight that's blocked by trees is great choreography. You don't even see how half the guys die. It's pretty awful 😂
@@goodolchris4173I love when they just sit there and wait for the guy to get ready before they swing their saber. Or purposely miss when he isn't moving 😂
It is shameful that the author of this massacre is portrayed romantically at the end of the story hand in hand with the stupid Osha. And it is shameful that the Jedi are portrayed as weak, naive, ridiculous.
@@SherryK-mr5yc I do not agree. Jedi are something we dont find in the real life. Somebody with a great power who decided to use it in a defensive way and to save the peace. They dont abuse their power, unlike the police. They are the sith who desire unlimited use of their power, just like Qimir.
Obi wan and Ahsoka held their own against Maul. The child held her own when the other knights died in like 5 seconds, which can be attributed to the fact that she is highly skilled and gifted and had the potential to be a powerful force user. She had the unfortunate circumstance of having to fight a seasoned dark force user which she has absolutely no experience with and was obviously outlasted. It sucks she never got to reach to her full potential. Jecki is one of the few characters I’ve enjoyed so far especially with how lame the show has been so far.
@@Jtry_ no they didn't, Obi-Wan got severely owned by Maul, he won because Maul gloated. He was also knighted afterwards since he was fully trained. Ahsoka was essentially already a knight and trained by The Chosen One. Are you even human or just another Disney bot? Keep huffing that copium buddy 🤣

Yeah, that would be like if they made Vader be able to outpilot professional racers as a mere child... or imagine if Luke was just able to shoot down the death star after only training by shooting rats with a blaster as a kid. Absolutely ridiculous stuff. Everyone knows star wars has zero precedent for untrained pupils being able to catch stronger opponents off guard because they didn't expect their raw abilities with the force. 🙄
The Acolyte get the Lightsaber's stabs back to normal and the duels is cool but because just the actors is black and asian with the back stories give it many of criticize
