Watch Situation Critical Season 1 Episode 7 Country Chaos on Breakthrough Entertainment
The following cases arrive at the trauma room: A man mowing his lawn is hit by a speeding car, a motorcyclist crashes and breaks her arms, leg, and pelvis, A bus hits a car and injures a passenger, A 78 year old man falls 20 feet and lands on rocks, A man falls off his roof while doing repairs.
Highly charged and fast paced, Situation Critical depicts the panic, relief, suspense and heartbreak of life in an urban emergency room.
Tracking a range of trauma cases that come through hospital doors, five or six stories will be intercut for fast pacing, as narration provides crucial information and makes the link between stories. Shot in a “verité” style, audiences will witness dramatic stories while watching some of the best emergency medical teams as they fight to save lives against often-formidable odds, where every second counts.
Created by Margaret Beckett
Starring Rufus Jones, John W. Iwanonkiw, Daniel Douglass #SituationCritical #MedicalTV #BreakthroughEntertainment

TRAVIS, UNFORTUNATELY, SOME OF US JUST CAN'T SEE LOWER CASE PRINT. I AM ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE AND I OFTEN GET ASKED WHY I'M YELLING. LOL. I'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT HOW USING CAPITAL LETTERS BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE, IS YELLING. HAHAHA. I'M A BABY BOOMER. I HAD PARENTS WHO USED TOUCH DIAL PHONES.. WE WERE VERY VERY INPOVERISHED, MY FRIENDS HAD COLOR TV'S AND THEY WERE MOSTLY BIG. OUR FIRST TV WAS A 12 INCH METAL BLACK AND WHITE. IT NEVER OCCURRED TO MY FRIENDS THAT SOMEDAY WE'D HAVE ALL THE TECHNOLOGY IN THE NEXT DECADE. BUT IN 1970 MY GRADE 5 CLASS HAD TO DO A PROJECT AND A DRAWN PICTURE OF WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS GOING TO HAVE A VERY BIG IMPACT ON THE WORLD IN 2000. SO MANY OF US HAD GREAT PREDICTIONS ABOUT THAT. MINE WAS THAT THERE WAS GOING TO BE PHONES THAT ALLOWED US TO SEE WHO WE WERE TALKING TO.

@Joshua N. God never promised that we would not know suffering in the world in fact He said the opposite ( New Testament- Bible. )But He promised that He would help us in our suffering. I do not believe that 2 Paramedics just happened, by coincidence to be passing by when this man of God was in dire need of help. I believe that they were sent by God to help this young man because it was not his time to die and God has a plan and a purpose for him still, tho different from what was originally planned. I expect Reading this you will think I'm talking a lot of rubbish. Why not ask God to reveal Himself to you if He really exists. I know that He does.

My friend was blown out of the dome, he was the gunner in a army tank in Afghanistan so he had a VERY BAD head injury and then parts of the tank landed on him when he was blown out and broke both his legs and his arms...bad breaks...everyone but him and the Sargent died. Only thing that saved him was being flown to Germany where with swelling brains they cut off the skull cap so the brain can swell with out constricting it. Can anyone tell me what they do not do that in the USA. My friend's brain was fine but the paralysis with his right arm no so much. The arm continued to lose movement over a few years and had to have it removed. Thank God he lived he was only 20 years old.

I’ve often wondered why, with brain’s swelling due to such injury, they don’t pack ice round the head to try to help?……these were certainly some very traumatic accidents/injuries, and thank God for the two paramedics passing by ( maybe was Gods doing!). I just praise all the doctors and nurses for all their intensive knowledge and way they can work together in harmony….but also all the inventors of this modern equipment we have at our fingertips these days. We don’t even know their names, but so many have cause to be grateful to things we can use to save more lives these days, compared to even ten years ago.incredible. Thankyou all wherever you are in the world, your truly marvellous. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@markgleason2078
@markgleason2078 2 года назад
The easiest way to reduce brain swelling/edema is with a IV solution called Mannitol. It is very dense and draws water out of the brain tissue and into the blood vessels to be redistributed elsewhere, this reduces the Intracranial Pressure. Ice on the head would only restrict the flow of blood in the scalp, the temperature change wouldn't be transmitted through the skull bone.

This is an interesting show. This is very informative. My only complaint, is the narrator over dramatizes what’s already very traumatic. I’d rather hear straight facts, not speculation of outcome. Especially so, since the narrator actually already knows the outcome.

I am a survivor of a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), as well as a fractured skull, brain bleed, broken ribs, collapsed lung, and broken shoulder bone. In the hospital, I also caught pneumonia and sepsis, but recovered from both! I was on a ladder, painting the back of my house, and I fell onto a concrete patio. Because of the brain injury, I was put into a drug induced coma, I'm told, which lowers the brain's requirements, and allows it to heal. The coma also (of course) kept me asleep and inactive - because some TBI victims are aggressive, and usually hard to manage, because they are often confused and pull out the tubes and wires. Putting the patients in a coma also keeps the bad experience of dealing w/ severe injuries from them. Once I could breath on my own, (about 7-10 days), I was taken out of the coma, transferred to the Intensive Care Unit, and evaluated - it was only then that my family could begin to analyze what the brain damage meant in my case. I was very fortunate, didn't have to have brain surgery, as the bleeding wasn't bad, and all my fractures including those to the skull, were all of the "closed" type - so they healed on their on. Initially, I couldn't focus my eyes, and when I got well enough to have the tubes taken from my throat, I answered some questions wrong, (like where I was, what was going on, or what year it was), so my brain was slightly damaged - but I slowly got better. My family came every day for the 6 1/2 weeks (total) I was hospitalized (some flew in from out of state). At the 2nd, rehab hospital, I quickly re-learned how to balance, (particularly hard for the first 3 months), stand, then walk. Then I went through 3 Inpatient Therapies, and the entire time I felt I was fine! I never recalled the accident, nor the first 3 weeks after the coma. I had to take math tests, checkbook balancing, cooking, laundry, and whatever physical therapy they through at me, before they would allow me to go home (where I live by myself). Then I took Outpatient Therapies at my local hospital, which I rode a bicycle to, (except cold days, when I took an Uber), to show them how remarkable I had recovered from the accident! I sustained no lasting damage, except slight double vision, correctable w/ glasses, and a small, semi-numb area on my temple - where, when I touch it, it feels like I am also touching my eye! I recovered so fast and fully, once it had been 6 months since my seizure activity (the day of the accident), I was allowed to take a driving test and drive (after forms filled out by a Neurologist and Ophthalmologist.) I'm telling you, the medical advances they have made not only saved my life, but preserved my brain from non-reversible damage.

Same here. There aren't enough ER/Trauma focused shows available. Then the ones that are available are hit or miss with either way too much artificial drama inserted, or they focus on other areas of the hospital that aren't as interesting to me. I miss the old Trauma in the ER series that was on TLC in the 90s. That format was a perfect blend of science and story telling. It's sad only a handful of seasons of that show are available now.

Because it's overly dramatised like all American medical docs! 😑

Of course!! It's drama TV for a reason. But once you have experienced something similar..watching and getting anxiety via someone else's tragedy..will never compare to those it actually happens to. You have a choice to shut it off. Those in the midst of it dont.

The older man with the broken ribs and crushed lung... Did anyone notice a nurse/ doctor/ technician working on him with gaudy gold nail polish, multiple rings and no gloves? What on earth?

Wow...what incredibly bad luck to be mowing your lawn right at the moment a car crashes into the yard. It's like when a person is driving down a road and an airplane crash lands on top of his car (this has happened). One day after work my father was walking down the street just a few houses away from home when a big tree blew down on the street right in front of him. If he'd been a few feet closer to home he would have been crushed. (This was in Washington, D.C. during the tail end of a hurricane--something that almost never happens in the area because hurricanes don't go this far north.) It's not always a tragic event because there have been children who leave their bedroom moments before a drunk driver misses a curve in a road and crashes into the house (which has happened, too).
