My favourite headphones to date. I literally sold my Ananda's after I got these, cos I felt like I'd got 80 percent of the Ananda's sound quality. Not that they are the same at all, but I seriously loved these headphones the moment I put them on. Peace
Thanks for the useful comparison of the P II/ Avia/ M570. It does seem the Avia is no longer a value, but when comparing the P II and M570 value shoppers should note the M570 is frequently discounted, and the P II is not. The M570 is currently $255 on Amazon, and it was $200 from April until a bit over a week ago. That is a lot of space between it and the $400 P II, even if it is a bit better built. The M570 comes with very nice pads, but the Sendy pads available at $35 are nicer. I think you recommended those and they are worth the price for my 570s.
I heard the SIVGA P II and the Avia there are very similar bulid the elements are different 3micron in the avia and 15 micron on the p II The fun factor (closer low end) of the P II is to my liking and I eq the top end
That’s what I read as well. It’s hard to untangle the knots of ChiFi companies. Half the time their websites aren’t even up to date to reflect the gear they’re selling.
I was very disappointed with P-II. The soundstage was very narrow, similar to 6XX. I think it's obvious the soundstage wouldn't be far away from LCD-1 considering those small earcups. The treble was quite piercing, reminding me of Thieaudio Phantom. It wasn't lower or mid-treble but upper treble. The comfort was also poor for me. The pads are very small and shallow so my ears were pressed against the grills. But the biggest issue for me was that strange hollow midrange which sounded like when I speak into an empty cup. I haven't heard Aiva but based on reports of other people who heard both, I guess the differences between Aiva and P-II are as small as pair to pair differences.
thank you for the review. seems i am a little late to the show, but wonder how they might compare to the new Fiio FT5 planar. If you plan to review that headphone, it would be awesome, if you could do a short comparison as they seem to be the only warm/relaxed palanars under 1.500EUR these days.
The question remains, from your first Sendy Aiva review (2019), do you still feel that the Aiva "simply, this is one of the best headphones I have ever heard" or has it been surpassed, and by what?
