The often overlooked 3rd gen Eclipse was still fun and could be had with a V6 and a Manual transmission. This example, while it has seen some things in it's 20 years, has not seen a lot of use. The paint damage is unfortunate; obviously otherwise super clean. I bought a garage kept '04 Eclipse Spyder GTS 5 spd w/ 60k miles in July '23. I LOVE it. Good power, the shifter is superb, and the suspension is sophisticated & supple. Length, width, height, horsepower and torque are virtually identical to the '04 BMW 330ci convertible. (I know, FWD vs. RWD in the BMW will be fatal to many enthusiasts.). I'd say the Spyder GTS is more of a grand tourer. If you can sort the paint issue, BUY IT, you won't be disappointed.

I was thinking it could have been the AWD model...but then I remembered, that the AWD model only could be had with an automatic transmission!...What a shame, really. Mitsubishi suffered from a questionable reputation for reliability--especially when it came to electronics! That is why the company was outsold by Honda and Toyota. Still, this ultra low mileage vehicle might hold up well for a few years. It was a great design, looked futuristic, etc.

No thats all wrong. AWD could be had with auto or manual in the 2g Eclipse and Eagle Talon, or 1g Eclipse, Eagle Talon, Plymouth Laser. With the 2g there was the GST and GSX which were both turbo but GST was fwd and GSX was AWD. A 2g GS didn't even come with the Mitsubishi engine in North America, it came with a chrystler 420a engine non turbo fwd. The 3g are all fwd, GS/RS got a NA 4 pot Mitsubishi motor, and the 3g GT and GTS had the v6 Mitsubishi engine the 6g72 a sohc version of the same engine in the Mitsubishi GTO/3000gt and Dodge Stealth.

I wish you'd be more careful with hvac controls, every time you turn it you're causing an electric motor with a worm gear to click and potentially break teeth and you're flipping it like a maniac.
