Leadership Styles Discussed... 1. Commanding style - military like boss. 2. Affiliate style - empathetic/caring leader. 3. Pace setting style - Leads by example. 4. Coaching style - Nurtures the team's potential to achieve the set goals. 5. Visionary style - inspires the team to a personal vision they have. 6. Democratic style - inspires the team to achieve a shared goal.

I didn't know it's existed different leadership styles. You learn something new. Thank for sharing. Great content as always ! I resonate more with the Visionary style.

Learned a lot from this one. It’s interesting to compare these styles in action. I’ve led with pacesetting and a visionary style. I suck at coaching and so accidently leave people “behind” sometimes. I liked how you mentioned each style is an advantage in some situations and not in others, and a good leader can adapt. Thank you, Chris!

🤔I've simplified it into believing that there are only 2 types: - A boss is someone who does not tolerate contradiction/criticism, sees his crew as his possession and his style of leadership is by standing his ground/his rank. Optimal during a crisis where time is of the essence. - A leader is someone who inspires others and gives his people the feeling that they have a say in the decision making process and thus leads by being an example himself. Best when to create teams where they have all the time to grow. 🤓The ultimate leader is a mix of the 2 where the amount of time available is the deciding factor.

The leadership styles I resonate most with are the democratic and the visionary leader but also aspects of the pacesetting leader. I do like to ask my emplyees for their opinion so that they feel they have a say in what we do. But more importantly I want to make sure I’m not missing anything. So when making a decision I might adjust my vision if I get feedback or ideas from the group but ultimately I want things done according to what I think is best and achieve a certain result. Unless it’s something I don’t really have an opinion about. Then I can go with what the majority wants. And I think that in order to grow as a leader I need to incorporate more of the affiliative style. I do try but I realize I might come across a bit cold and not caring enough especially to the feelers that work for me. 😅

I think that 'visionary' style is the hardest... i met some ppl that doesnt like/put trust in one guy/someone 'ego'. And depends on idea, even if we think we have 'the best' ... others may look and say 'no, this will fail... no one wants this, no one will buy this'. Its damn hard. What resonates with me is... "humans first", work is work but people should feel good, feel they do something meaningfull ... you cant give them curiosity and not every project may be interesing to them. But we can give understanding, empathy, support... ocassions to learn something new, but its still hard because it requires knowing what they want, what makes them better. Being a human at least in theory should work best. Depends on company size, in bigger company its impossible to know everyone. But taking focus on empathy should work, because people may require respect... who will want work with jerk?

I think throughout my life I tended to employ the democratic and pacesetting leadership style. Not sure if it was the best approach given the circumstances but it came to me naturally (I'm an ISTJ, btw :d). Could you include more text or charts in your next videos? I sometimes have trouble focusing only on said things and this would help a lot. I also think it might be a good way of summarizing the topic. If my opinion matters, I'd also maybe reduce the amount of stock footage used as after a while I find it distracting and sometimes even ridiculous (which again hinders my focus). Other than that, a great video as always, you're really good at explaining things!

Democratic and Affiliative are the 2 that most resonated with me. Throughout the years, I've noticed that I find myself very stressed out if there's someone within the group that appears to reject the goals of the team. The harmony aspect is very important to me and I tend to withdraw and lose momentum for the project when there are constant debates or if someone is holding fast to their own opinions.

I myself would probably be an affiliative coaching democratic leader actually with maybe a bit of pace setting mixed in. Maybe a touch of visionary as well, the only one that didn't really sound like me was the first one.
