What a great video - everything you said are facts. They are exactly why I grabbed a 2023 TRD Pro and it was worth the wait. Living in Canada running the same DMV2 Blizzaks as yours - you feel like you can drive through anything in winter. Winter tires + 4Runner = Unstoppable. When the forecast calls for a massive snow storm, you get excited to get out and drive the 4Runner! Thanks for the superb review.

Good job on the video, I have a 2016 4runner trail with kdss and I love this thing. She's decked out for overlandding and she's my daily driver. There's something about the 4runner that no other suv has, soul,character, reliability, dependability, just to mention a few. Sure the gas mileage sucks, but it's not that bad. You can always count on her taking you places and bringing you home again. Have fun and be safe out there.

Bought a 2017 SR5 premium 4x4 over a month ago and yeah, I get a smile on my face every time I get in it and rip some trails. Bought some toytec Bilstein coilovers for the front and Bilstein 4600 for the rear to install. Can't wait to drive it after that!

I love your comments on the 4runner...Your comments about the 4runner are spot on...I feel the same way you do about the trd pro...I love it too...Its people who complain about or don't understand what this vehicle is all about...I love simple reliability vehicles and the only one that I know is as reliable are very few. There are a only hand full of vehicles produced are as reliable as the 4runner. Yes King of the Road I love it too. Super cool and I'm going to get one too even if I have to live in it to pay for it. That's how much I am fond of the 4runner and Japanese made vehicles. They know how to build vehicles. It better than paying rent to someone else who just takes your money and treats you like dirt from some landlords or bosses at work. The 4runner is Freedom like you have control and not someone else. Can't wait to buy one myself. I've owned 3 of them so far and I want another one and I don't care about the spendy price as long as it's not over msrp. I miss my ‘19 TRD off road everyday…I’m gonna grab a ‘23 TRD pro before the new one comes out Great job explaining how these make you feel as an owner …my brother has a top of the line telluride, and I would take a 4runner any day of the week over that thing….the 4runner can do it all and nothing will be as reliable or have better resale

I'm like you, exactly that it's old school and very low tech is why I love it. Simple analog gauges, hate digital readouts, big buttons, offroad tech and nothing more. I don't care about gas mileage, I prioritize peace of mind decades of reliability. I traded a 2016 $103K optioned out M3 for my 2020 Pro and love it more, so much so I traded the 2020 for a 2022, and sold it for more than I paid two years earlier......The M3, lost almost half on trade in. So yeah, 4Runner......4EVER!

I have a 2022 4Runner TRD Pro and like you I wanted it ready to go right out of the box. It’s my First Toyota and First not having a Truck in 35 plus years. Things I like easy to park, Way more capable Off-Road, It get better MPG than any full size truck I have owned, I paid MSRP. I have 22,000 miles and have had zero problems. I can not say that about my Ford F150, Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra was the worst for reliability. I did put rock sliders on because my truck had damage from rocks off roading on lower door panels,easy to install taking Me about Hour and a half. For Me it’s a Hunting Truck that tows my fishing boat as well.

If you don’t use the roof rack and do a lot of hwy driving should remove it. I hear it kills mpg a bit. Almost 2 mpg

Put an "Old School" CD player in it and I'm sold.

How is the wind noise in the 4runner compared to the Nissan Frontier?

Lol.....The SUSPENSION...... I'm sorry but it is too stiff !!!!! I had a Mazda 3 sedan premium, that was stiff and now have a CX5 Carbon edition and too is stiff !!! Some say it's the "19 tires, Possibly. I, too, have been looking into the 4runner to more adventurous, I just don't like how the Tech inside is plain, but everything I've seen and read.... it's the vehicle to get to really go offroad! Looks good!

Lime rush seems busy to me imo, but its a unique color.

As a fellow '22 4R TRD Pro owner, I can attest that the stock Nitto Terra Grapplers are NOT all season tires. Mine turn into hockey pucks below about 30° and slip and slide all over the road, even on dry pavement that's just cold. I'm really surprised Toyota went with a non-all season for the stock tires. They put Toyo's on other models, so why not go with the AT3s?

I wish Toyota put black headliners in the 4runner like my 2019 tacoma has.
