Wow. Some really hateful comments. It is clear that Jared loves drums and loves to teach- so why the hate? Yes the fill is not appropriate for some kinds of music, but its an excellent rudiment and I think Jared is quite smooth at it. If you have hate, keep quiet and let us learn to play the instrument that we all love.

In these exercises I play the six stroke using 16th note triplets, as well as 32nd notes. So it's totally up to the individual how they hear them.

I'm grateful for the lesson Jared! Very well put together. Complex simplicity, one of the things I love about drumming. Now, to the few trolls writing demeaning, petty shit, just for the sake of it (you know who you are), this lesson is free. It's a gift. You don't like it, feel absolutely free to NOT WATCH !

Who are the 33 people who disliked this video? I mean...it was labeled properly....we all learned something...whats to dislike? I wonder if any video on RU-vid ever had 0 dislikes with over 50,000 views? I wonder if thats even possible....sometimes I feel like people dislike a video just to be different...

It's people that are jealous becuase they suck and don't want to work for it. I'm 55 amd started in 1983 and quit for number of years, started back again after 7 years and can still rip singles like Buddy Rich ALMOST, but many rudiments i never learned i suck, that's why i'm here. This kid is great. I'm getting this 6th down, i'm a left hander, only difference with me is i play the HH with my left and ride on the left of a right handed set up. .

Jared! you are perfect for this channel. Thanks for all of the lessons! If I could make a request... break down "Tool's Rossetta Stoned". In the guitar solo the drums use a crazy swiss triplet, quarter notes on the hi-hat, and the bass drum follows the bass guitar. It is an insane drum part. would love to see someone of your caliber break it down in lessons! thanks again for all of the lessons!

I just started to learn six stroke rolls, in my opinion there are no different note types, every stroke is played with the same note value, so its sixtuplets or how its called, this causes the floating character of that rudiment, ich you play it with 8th and 16th notes it gets another character. it think if you play it with sixtuplepts you kinda fall on the 1 with the stroke before. and you count it the like 1+a 1+a 2+a 2+a 3+a 3+a 4+a 4+a or something. but i'm no teacher or something :) i just recognized from other videos. I think actually you play it with sixtuplets in pattern two, but it is written down with 16th and 8th notes

location ie room matters, size, carpet or wood flooring, etc... maybe your snare is tuned the same way at your venue as in the store, but the store has different acustics, etc.

min 4:20, 32nd notes (as written), are being played more like 16nd note triplets. That's a little mistake there. Just so everyone could know and avoid mistakes.

In same instances more than others there's not enough of a pause (don't want to say rest since there's no rest notated) between the initial crash hit and the subsequent snare note. Couldn't really tell when he brought it up to speed though.

Hi, great lesson, I'm a novice drummer can someone help me out. When looking at the sheet music below the video, for example at 4:20, the snare quaver beat moves down a stave from the 2 to the 4. Is there a reason for this, or is it a mistake? thanks :)

Two questions that ive been dying to ask!! how do you guys tune your snare? its so snappy and i can never get mine to sound like it did from the shop but its too expensive to take it back for a tune. ive got a drum dial but i can work out how to get it so crisp. 2ndly if you guys use a drum dial, what is your top and resonant skin tuned to??
@coopercooper8406
@coopercooper8406 Год назад
Make the snare side head tight. Took me years to figure this out, but it’s usually that simple. Gives you a short snare wire snap, and high overtones. Hit right in the middle for less overtones, and best crack.
