I like the double love theme that you did. Courtney blew bot of them out of the water. "The One That You Loved" has received tens by everyone who ranks songs this way. Personally, I had no idea she could do what she did in the first one so I thought that might have even been better. When I first heard "Love Hurts" I could not stop being amazed. You are a true credit to the reaction business. Keep the Courtneys coming. We all know she is the greatest.
That is a weird way to rate songs. She is amazing and her versatility makes her even more impressive. Thank you for watching and your kind words. There will be more Courtney.
Hey Bob. Love your Courtney reactions, and the double shots are so cool. So many things to say about Courtney and her incredible talent. You hit it right on the head when you said that Courtney can sing anything. Her range and vocal versatility is just astounding. I don't know of any other artist that has a comfort zone the size of Courtney's. It doesn't matter whether it's Rock or R&B, Funk, Soul, Ballads or others. She jut nails it. No matter the genre, the most amazing thing is there never is a drop off to the exquisite quality of her music. I think I mentioned once before, she even had an opera clip go viral on TikTok. The other thing that Courtney does, I think like no one else, is to put so many different styles within a single song. You can listen to one of Courtney's songs and hear five different styles of music. What's more, the transitions between the styles are always seamless and as smooth as silk. Lastly, is her creativity. She never tries to imitate anyone. Courtney has said that she is never going to do a cover where it just copies the original. She will always have a version that is uniquely different from the original, where she shows another way the song could have been, or IMO, should have been sung. The thing is, she's not taking no name songs and covering them. She's taking massive hits, like 'Old Town Road' or 'Someone You Loved' and totally re-inventing them into her own. The amazing thing is, despite their massive success, nearly everyone that hears both the originals and Courtney's versions, think that Courtney blew the originals completely out of the water. I think you'll enjoy the last two covers from her EP when you react to them. 'Sign of the Times' and 'Sucker' were also mega-hits, the two songs are completely different styles and Courtney again makes them totally her own. Can't wait to hear you do them. Speaking of making a song your own. Courtney did a cover of 'What's Love Got To Do With It' from her home studio, during Covid. Not only is Courtney's version of the song fabulous, but you get to see what a dynamite guitar player she is. the link is: Courtney Hadwin - What's Love Got To Do With It: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wPYeT5xmGbg.html So this coming Monday is the big day. Courtney performs at Carnegie Hall on the 29th at the Clive Davis tribute. Fingers crossed that some clips of that make it to YT. Since Clive signed Janis Joplin, Courtney is going to be singing a Joplin song, 'Piece of my Heart'. She opens the show. It should be amazing.
As always thank you for watching and your awesome comment. The aforementioned songs will be my next double shot. I have two more songs, one of them is What’s Love Got To Do With It, after that.
You can get the livestream on Carnegie Hall+; Courtney starts 7p.m. EDT. There is a one week free trial on several platforms, then $7+/month afterwards.
That's what I love about Courtney, she's not one genre singer, she covers the spectrum. And the emotion, you can feel it when she sings, unlike most other modern soulless pop singers. I've heard so many new songs lately, that I've instantly forgotten. Not so with Courtney. All of her originals and covers are stuck in my head. How is it that she is not a chart topping sensation already is a true mystery.
Another great reaction! Between you and the previous comments I think everything's been said, even how cool a portable radio was before we had RU-vid or even MTV. Did you ever have a radio/cassette player and make mix tapes? Them was the days. Thanks for another double shot of Courtney. It don't get no better than that!
Yes, I did. I started making mix tapes when I got my first little POS cassette player and started recording songs off the radio. It’s my pleasure doing the double shots. I have a single reaction scheduled next and then another double shot after that.
Not much to say that has not been said already. You rightly appreciate Courtney rising toward the top of the music food chain, as the cream usually does. One of the things Courtney has that separates her from even currently successful singers is her versatility--not only between songs but also within a single song, delivered with power and passion. Get ready for Courtney's amazing cover of a classic song April 29th in front of legendary Clive Davis and many stars!
Love the reaction, I read that when Courtney recorded Love hurts she had to do it in 2 takes because it was ripping her throat to shreds which you can imagine it did. But, it is still amazing and still my favourite of all her cover songs 😊😊😊
Actually according to Miss Li she stated that they only did two takes and they used the first take because it was so amazing and she felt it was the best
@@rickrhoden1 😒 Have no idea how it happened. Maybe when I dropped my keyboard and picked it up I hit the wrong combinations of keys. You'll just have to keep promoting then. Oh wait you just did.😁
Ah the old days, with the transistor radio under the pillow when I went to bed. It's now great to be older and sounded spoiled with great audio equipment. Every cover I've heard from her is better than the original, and you nailed it that the song becomes her. I cannot wait for her first album.
@@NielsGrm-li3yi The one by Miss Li, which Courtney did a cover of, is totally different to the Nazareth one. I believe Joan Jett did a cover of that one, if my memory serves me correct.
