Another Great Reaction! Courtney is absolutely amazing! Just as you said, Courtney really makes you feel the song, it’s like she just reaches out and pulls you into her music and makes you a part of it! Looking forward to more!
She was born to perform, and I think that's where she's the most comfortable. The songs are so different but at the same time so powerful, she's amazing. Thanks Bob and have a great day.
Excellent reaction and commentary! You get Courtney very well. She is super unique in all the ways you described. Monsters has already received accolades, and I will subscribe for your reaction!
Great reaction to one of the best artist I've seen in years. Courtney has more talent and a better voice than most artist that I see on TV. She is amazing.
Loved your reaction 😊 you have 2 more of Courtney’s originals Monsters and Christmas Rocks which is a fun one, can’t wait for your reaction to them both 😊😊
Hi Bob. Love your Courtney reactions. It feels like you're a true believer in Courtney's incredible talent, just like the rest of us. As you mentioned, Courtney can sing just about anything and do it so exquisitely, across so many genres. You never know what journey she is going to take you on. If it wasn't Courtney singing, and you weren't aware of the incredible versatility she has, you'd be surprised that both of these songs could come from the same artist. We're finally getting a chance to hear Courtney's brilliant original music now because she went independent at the start of 2023 and is in control of her own material. Expect to see a regular dose of new Courtney music, because she has a huge song library and she has shared a number of clips, and they are all sensational. She is such a powerhouse as a songwriter as well as a performer. Next up is the completion of her long delayed debut album of original material. It will be epic. 'That Girl Don't Live Here' is an absolutely terrific song by Courtney and the lyrics are brilliant. It has such a good vibe that you can't listen to it and not to want to move with it. I love how so many people view Courtney as this hard core, full out, stage dominating rocker from her time on AGT, and then when she releases her own music, she leads with a sensational gritty ballad (Breakable), and follows it up with an uptempo song that has the feel almost of 1940's Swing. (That Girl Doesn't Live Here). Not only is the song fabulous, but the video is a work of art and perfect for the song's message, of which there are several. First, Courtney is singing about no longer being that 13 year old girl everyone fell in love with on AGT, and which a core group of fans want her to remain, which of course is impossible. She has confirmed this part of the message. Courtney, with her incredible creativity, used that theme to drive the video, in such a unique way. Past/young Courtney sees new/current Courtney in the video and follows her through the closet/looking glass into a whole new world, in this case Wonderland (from Alice in Wonderland). Secondly, for the last four plus years, the labels have tried to tell Courtney what she should be. Courtney stood her ground and said 'No'. Fortunately for all of us, she did, because no one else makes music like Courtney does. It's only my interpretation, but at the beginning of the video, when someone comes to the door asking her to sign something and she turns them away, this represents the labels, with whom she is done with. Now that the labels are gone, she has released a torrent of fantastic original music. Lastly, when all the paparazzi come to the door and she turns them away, she is saying that to be able to release the kind of music I love is more important than the possible fame, if I have to sell out to get it. 'Call Me Back' is a completely different vibe. I think this incredible song and performance gets to everyone who hears it. The song itself is so raw and powerful and Courtney sings with so much passion that this goes straight to the heart. Then you add the intensity of this incredible video on top of it. If you don't feel the pain and anguish this song and video conveys, then you don't have a pulse. I don't know how many times I've listened and watched this so far, but even when I know what's coming, it doesn't get any easier. What Courtney can do both vocally and visually never ceases to amaze. I thought the ending with the phone ringing and Courtney answering was brilliant. It's left an open question as to who's on the other end, but it ends a song full of pain and angst with a feeling of hope for everyone that has just gone on this heavy emotional ride with Courtney.
A very truthful reaction.courtney feels her music.she conveys that feeling to you almost effortlessly . Very emotional singer.❤ all her releases. No two the same. Christmas rocks was exceptionally good. For all ages.🎉🎉
Her range is just incredible. Rock, Pop, Gospel, Jazz, Blues, Funk, ... Fun fusion style, to heartbreaking ballads. There is not much she cannot sing. I'd even pay to hear her sing the Dictionary, or the phone book, and be amazed at what she can perform. You've got to do Monsters and Christmas Rocks next.
Great to hear someone who understands the whole thing with our Courtz. I've been following this gorgeous girl since before AGT. She has always followed her own path since a young age. Despite a lot of hate and bullying from listeners, she has stood strong and listened to her inner self and continued to follow the path. She has always said she wants to make the music she likes and not what others think she should do. And she doesn't want to be stuck in any particular genre. Thanks for a great react.
I enjoyed her performances on AGT. I’m glad she stood her ground. Just makes me like her that much more. I think that she is a positive role model by standing her ground. Girls need to see women like that. Thank you for watching and your comment.
Great reaction SD, yeah exactly, Courtney can sing anything, not only the phone book but the bible to, she has you jamming from start of this one,as for call me back she has us all in tears, what a talent, tissue please, ❤️
Long time no see. This tax season has been brutal on my time. Glad to see you really enjoy Courtney. #1 is her voice. I don't listen to this style of music much, but that voice of hers and the emotion she can inflect is actually stunning. Me liking her is a similar reason why Lovebites is my favorite band. Like you said, they do things their way. Both are refreshing in today's sea of garbage music. The similarity is Courtney and Lovebites have such strong inspirations from the past that come through strong in their music, both modernized. I have a handful of favorite female vocalists ever for me: Courtney Hadwin Asami Taylor Momsen Maria Brink Cristina Scabbia Nice reaction to two great originals by Courtney.
Hi Bob, I like the way you think and enjoy your reactions to Miss Courtney Hadwin's original music. The songs get better and better as her career keeps evolving. Can't wait to see what's next. MORE COURTNEY HADWIN PLEASE!!
Love this. Seriously awesome. Also like the addition of the phone call at the end to add more ambiguity to the meaning of the song. TRUE ART. WELL PERFORMED. Well DESIGNED. This youngster is 19 years old still!
You hit this right on the button. I struggled with this song until I felt it. Now I think it might be one of her best. In the comment I made when you did Breakable, I told you of the dichotomy of these two. Again, it is just a testament to her tremendous ability to do both phenomenally well. I cannot wait to see what you think of Monsters and hopefully Christmas Rocks. Monsters was voted the coolest song of 2023 by Little Stevens Underground Garage. Her last two of the year were ROCK.
Love your reactions! I got one question. Did you say you have to pause because of copyright blocks? If so, that hasn't been a problem since she went independent. The 5 original songs she released last year have never been blocked. Courtney has even thanked people personally who did reactions. Speaking of going independent, while Breakable and That Girl Don't Live Here are about relationships, Courtney has let it be known on her social media that they're also a metaphor for her relationship with the recording industry. When you talk about her doing what she wants to, you hit the nail on the head. Looking forward to more, Have a great day!
Thank you so much. Yeah, I know I don’t usually have to do it for independent artists. But, because I do with other artists, I usually do it anyway. I am looking forward to more of her music.
If you didn't figure out the two notes I left, the first was about "Call Me Back" and the second one (the top one) was about "That Girl don't Live Here". Thank you for your reactions. they are excellent! We both believe Courtney is a one of a kind awesome talent.
Bob, it is more serious when you understand that "That Girl" was written regarding her relationship (or horrible relationship) with her record company who squelched her every effort to promote her wonderful music and tried to turn her into a ditty bopper. She is now independent and they will never be able to affect her again. Most who follow her will say that this is the true underlying meaning of the song.
Great appreciation shown by you. Nice to see a reactor who not only truly appreciates Courtney's talent, but who recognizes all of the nuances that go into being not only an artist, but also a performer and song writer, such as she. This young lady has gone through the ropes being involved with people in the business including her management people and label who signed for the past 4 years prior to 2023. She's had some bad luck with timing. Not only did she get invited to perform at Woodstock's 50th anniversary that unfortunately got canceled, which I think would have put her name in lights due to all the attention she had gotten on AGT and then her mini EP "Cover Sessions" (which you should also check out at some point if you haven't yet), ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3gaqzKkXymg.html Then Covid shut down her recording session and the lock down kept her from a few other opportunities she had. Unfortunately at the same time Covid was shutting down the world her label in collaboration with Sony Music who had a partnership with Simon Cowell of AGT made a new deal they left Sony Music full ownership with all artist Simon signed, which Courtney was one of then. I think that's when things started changing for her. Seems they wanted to make her into a pop princess. She writes about some things indirectly without actually putting blame on anyone in music that represented her. She actually uploaded a number of short clips with lyrics talking about how she was being told to look, act and say. I do recall many times she would put something out there that her music would be release soon, but it never was. She must have gone through hell with promises never kept from those around her. She also mentioned she's recorded loads of songs with them, but it seems her label has full control of those. I'd imagine that if she makes a name for herself on her own and gets huge, they may start releasing those recording. A number of clips we've got to hear. One of her best ever singing performances she let us hear one day during a social media chat puts any Janis Joplin performance to shame. That's a big statement but I haven't heard anyone say differently. I'll leave a link for that one, but it's not the best audio. It was played by her from her laptop speaker into her cell phone. It's a bit thin sounding, but it doesn't matter. You'd still appreciate it. Most all think it's one of her best. "Love Hurts" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bqZjDRXyxOo.html She was still only 14. Said enough, so much to tell for those who like who she is and you obvious do. Subbed
@@SixxDaze Agree, but at times reactions are all about the money nowadays. They may love someone, but never look further until a money request happens again. Which I understand. But I don't have to like it. 😇 You've shown interest beyond a donations, even if you're reacting to Courtney's videos because of them. YT has changed, I assume, since reactions became a big thing 5 years or so ago. From what I understand, making a decent buck from YT videos isn't so profitable as it once was unless the channel is doing extremely well. So I get it. But when a reactor really loves an artist, it's not hard to notice who they are. You're one of them.
@bertpainter8385 It sure ain’t the money for me. I don’t make enough from doing this for it to be worth my while. I do it because I love music and I actually enjoy doing it. If I was doing it for the money, I would love everything and act all cheesy like all of the phony reactors. I know how to do it but that’s not me. I would be a lot better off financially by faking it. I absolutely love when people turn me onto music and artists that I haven’t heard. While I know Courtney from AGT and the one song I reacted to, I had not heard her original music. I absolutely love what I’ve heard so far.
@@SixxDaze Kudos to you. Keep on keeping. I don't think Courtney has sang anything I don't love. I mostly listen to classic rock, but her voice and persona may be the most enjoyable I've ever seen. And I'm going back to the 60's that I 1st started getting into music heavily. Lots of great voices and on stage personalities, but Courtney is just different. You don't ever mail it in. I guess it's her passion and the way she performs with attitude. She could easily be a great actress if she chose. She has the method acting persona. Hope I said that right. She gives every performance her all may be better way to say that. Anyway until the next one, enjoy. I'll check your other reactions to others and see if I can suggest some other new artists I think have that it factor and only seem to care about the music
She promised an album this year and has told us that it is finished. I know that there must be some logistics to work through before it is released, but we have it. I cannot wait to hear it. We all know that whatever she does it will be fantastic! She also wants to get back on stage.
