Skagit Wildlife Area: Headquarters Unit

Skagit Wildlife Area is managed by the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife and is comprised of several land parcels in the general area of the Skagit River delta. Of the various units, this one is the most popular for walking and birdwatching.
It is also popular for hunting, so it is recommended to wear orange or other bright colors during hunting seasons (Sept 1 - Mar 15, according to a sign near the beginning of the trail).
