I’ve been playing Skater Xl on ps5 without mods for months now and love it. The bugs definitely get on my nerves at times but I can’t wait to try Session after hearing the comparisons💯
@@ichrism after playing both games (session and skater xl) and i also played alot of skate 3 if you like skate 3, you should get skater xl, and for a more immersion style gameplay you should get sesson... keep in mind session dont have multiplayer
SXL was cool. Shame console players don't get the same love PC players do. But oh well. Been switched back to sessions for a few months until SXL gets their shit together
I used to prefer Skater XL over Session because of the controls but as I started to play Session I grew into it more. It’s become my game to just chill and relax on.
It’s very easy to misinterpret what someone means in todays world. You guys are both good people for staying positive to each other the entire time. I vote to keep NS & chill only if you as the creator enjoy making them still. The best content comes out of the ones you genuinely enjoy. I’m going to be a supporter regardless 🤟❤️
When swithflipjones called you a fool I didn’t see it as any disrespect, that’s just another way of saying dude where I’m from. Glad you guys chatted and got it cleared up!
Thanks man but like I said in my livestream to you, the effort you put into portraying me as someone who was attacking you, the effort you put into showing how you can do the “same thing” I did to you by cutting my irl videos (not my session videos) and pointing out what you thought were flaws or things that would look bad, and the main point of me being the reason why you were stopping should have ALL been fixed wit the same energy which I felt like didn’t come across in this. what we say on our platforms can affect more than we know. Appreciate any apology over the strict delete, I just thought you took it EXTREMELY far. Peace.
I hope that everyone has an amazing and memorable rest of the year and safe travels, adventures, gaming and skateboarding throughout the years. 🍀♾️❤️🔥
Always good to start a day with a Nightspeeds video. Map looking great in both games, I think I prefer Session maybe a little bit but there's positives and negatives to both
Love this map, it gives me South Bank vibes. Wish they'd bring something similar out on console. Another great video Nightspeeds, glad to see you back doing your thing 👍🏼👌🏼
Even if I stucked with Session, I still think (modded) SXL is a better game. Just becouse you can make grabs, also in mannys and grinds/slides. I haven't checked how new wallride mechanics work, but in Session they are hard to execute and mostly looking bad. But this not mean that Session is a bad game. Both are shitty and amazing at this same time. What I love in SXL are random landings, grabs, stance customisation and how easy you can mod this game. You can add more steez to your clips in SXL, smiths are looking much better in this game, I felt like I have more control in grinds and slides to make them more random. Creativity shite is much bigger in SXL than in... Session got this small tastes that I love, when you set your feet on deck, different stances to start trick, pressure flips, darkslides (if you doing them, your griptape is wearing), better clips editor. You can make really cool freestyle with your board. TBH, Session is behind SXL, but not so far away. What I'm waiting for is grabs in any combination, a little bit better upper body animation and random landings. This few thing will take over SXL IMHO. Respect both games, please! And what I really love is that, 411FS is opened for Session skaters, we trying to merge both universums in my teams too and at end of a day, sometimes when I see a clip, I can't differentiate what game it is. Peace! Have fun skating.
I got my brother to get it on his kids' switch and he's enjoying it having never played it on anything else. The bummer is the price coupled with the fact for some reason switch doesn't have pressure sensitive triggers so the turning is a bit stupid, but he's making the best of it.
@@nduffin3775 yes, very true, but having been playing it on Xbox since it first became available on there it would just be a major headache, since there's no squeeze to the triggers that means you'd be reverting every time you double tap to get the right approach for a handrail. But since it's all he's known and only choice he's got I'm sure he just works around it. I was just bringing that to your attention before you drop $60+ on it.
I mean if we are going by which one looks more "real" Session takes it in every way possible. Something about the physics in Skater XL just seems off...everything seems floaty and none of the animations look natural...Session just gives me a more "connected" feeling.
I've never played XL so I'm curious, why do you certain things sre easier? I've been told the vanilla version is super floating with huge pop etc but you're on pc so you could make it more realistic, so what makes certain things easier to you?
Without calling any names one of them is damn near perfect out the box and the other is a floaty mess that none of these youtubers play Without mods. I think we all know which is which
Both are good games session just seems to have a step ahead in communication with there community if easy day would wake up and just devote there time to XL they could make good money and a very good skating game without mods
Session all day. It looks waaaay better and plus it has manual catch and now for me playing with auto catch feels like you have cheats turned on. Skater xl feels so floaty and unrealistic to me but you can have some arcade-y style fun, kinda like it’s Skate 4. I much prefer Session for the more authentic skateboard feel.
For those looking for a TL;DR comparison of the games: Session is a better "plug-and-play" experience, while SkaterXL is better if you take the time to mod it.
In my opinion skateboarding games took a really bad direction. In the past we had THPS and Skate and these games were very content heavy. It was all about fun challenges and stories. Right now all new games seem to be only sims with almost zero effort put into providing some kind of story mode. Skater XL is great but it's pretty much soulless game, the same goes for Session. What's even worse these games seem to be all about mods and console versions seem to be really poor compared to PC version. I was initially very excited about Skate 4 but hearing it's going to be a free to play game I assume it's going to be pushing heavily for online multiplayer. I wished for more OG Skate experience, all the fun challenges and selling boards :)
My issue with this POV is that the games you mentioned, THPS & Skate, were built by major studios. They had the resources and capitol to build a game that appealed to a larger audience and had the resources to hire the right team for the right job. For a story mode, you need multiple writers, voice actors, engineering a whole mission system, cutscenes, and so on. SkaterXL and Session are indie games developed by indie developers. Tiny studios with micro budgets (compared to a major studio) and finite resources. I think it's amazing that a small team of people who are passionate about skateboarding were able to get together and make the games we are able to play. People constantly rag on both studios about "some" issues that only a major studio could facilitate. Brand licensing is expensive, Music licensing is expensive, updates are expensive (though not impossible), hosting is expensive, marketing is expensive, and so on. We've gotten so deep into consuming these games that we forget to acknowledge how they're made. Obviously it's not expected that everyone needs to know the innards of designing a game, but I think it helps people become more empathetic. The constant berating from the community is so ungrateful. I'm grateful I have two options to choose from. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses, but at the end of the day both were able to create a representation of skateboarding I thoroughly enjoy. I think that's pretty damn awesome.
Im a console players i play XL the first day since session be dropped …. With XL i have living since 2 yearS in frustration i pass 2 yearS to wait … wait what ? I dont know they always says no stat menu for consoles … but they promises an évolution and more difficulty but they do nothing exept drop shitty indoor park …. Session is a delivery after this BIG deception … after 3 month they drop a dlc better than all xl do … session is more serious … easy day only living on Modders works … i dont hate XL but yeah i hate easy days …
Easy win for me: Session because Skater XL still isn’t out on Switch after 3 years of being announced for release date of Summer 2020 haha snooze you lose Easy Day Studios!
@@wout123100 I got a mac so I'm SOL. Not gonna buy a new console or a PC. I actually go outside and skate, surf, Soap, ski, off-road. It is fun to play the Skate Trilogy on my Xbox 360 or Sonic Adventure 2 or RUSH 2049 on my DreamCast. Also bust out F-Zero on my SNES or THPS 1-4 on my PS2. On Switch I play Session, Descenders and Rocket League mostly. But I rarely play video games and already have hundreds so it's not worth the investment for me when I already have Session which honestly blows THPS or Skate out of the water for me. Much more realistic and brings me back to my childhood retrying skate tricks over and over and over till I nail it! Especially love all the IRL skate spots. I 've skated NYC back in 2011 so it's rad to sesh the famous Brooklyn Banks on a game since that spot got torn down IRL.
