Imagine how it must be to have create a classic like this at a young age in the 80's and nowadays there's still thousands listening to this every day....Great stuff
I love this video cuz they look like they're having a blast and it's natural, there's no posturing or air-brushing, it's just the band! - Good ol' fashioned Goth n Roll
I remember watching this video a lot back in 2006 when RU-vid started gaining momentum - it's great to see it's still here! The video is perfect and the song is a scorcher, as always...
AH the music of my youth. Along with the Birthday Party, Cramps, SDC and others. Still have the old vinyl and dust it off now and again for old times sake. Good to see such bands have a new audience. Enjoy.
I was up the West end in some bar in mid 80s, and was really having a boring night. So I said to my friends that I'm off to the toilets, but walked straight out the door. Found myself walking the streets until I passed Wardour St and and walked into the Marquee club. Paid a couple of quid to get in and found this Band playing. Got my drink then started rocking to one of the 2 support band s playing that night. Then the main Band came on and it was these guys. Had a great night that ill never forget.
I hate to admit it out loud but I forgot about the Skeletal Family until now. Thanks for the reminder, RU-vid-algorithm! Oh and thanks, fringe coat guy, for the brilliant nunchucks moves at 2:22-2:24. Ha! I guess we all loved nunchucks in the early 80s.
What a song, and what a band. Sorry to sound so naive, this is the first time I've actually heard Skeletal Family, I knew they existed but never checked them out. What a great tune :D
Looking forward to playing with Skeletal Family at WGW!! - ‘Scarey Tales’ is the new album from The Danse Society, to find out more information go to Pledge Music and search for The Danse Society and be part of this album production. Gorgeous limited editions only available with the pledge - check it out!
Yeah I'm actually friends with the lead singer on Facebook and she sent me an invite to a party they are doing in London on Halloween ( at least I think it's London). She's doing a greatest hits kind of thing, the best of Ghost Dance and the Skels.
Magnificent band....! This is one of those bands which are able to make you fly without any drugs....! The sound and atmosphere are great....! Her voice es unique, although it reminds me another good band called: Cocteau Twins....! Greetings from Ecuador (South America). Lago Gris (Avantgarde Gothic Band).
@@whiterosetrials5700 Yes, looks like typical West Yorkshire moorlands. And moorland is still okay today, I suppose. pm1.narvii.com/6402/b2f4563fa2691c2c7a8fa6121a0c21b921cf9886_hq.jpg
Got to this via Propaganda by TOH that seemed to have been deleted. Last time I saw my Skeletal Family records was 1991. As soon as I saw "Promised Land" on the title, it came straight back to me ..."don't you know that, this is the Promised Land..." Brilliant.
She looks so young here they must have been like early 20's when they did this. She was very cute too can see why Gary Marx ran off with her to do Ghost Dance when they were both becoming bored of their own bands.
Last i heard Anne -Marie was happily married with kids.I would really like to see them play again as the original band.I would love a walk back in time.Bingley White Horse,Fleece in Bradford. Then on to Bensons.
gosto pra caramba, lembra minha juventude. boas músicas parecem ter ficado no passado,, hoje em dia só porcarias,,, ainda bem que podemos contar com o antigo...
I'm sorry you missed it. :/ They were great.. but my hope isn't all dead on ever seeing them live again... in one shape or another. Hope never dieeeeeeeEEEeeeEEES! *LOL^^*
:D LOVELY! Always loved this video, and given that the countryside in it matches that of the Falkland Islands, I would have LOVED to get MPA's revolving band to make a cover with 1435 Flight's Tornados blasting overhead.
@alicja886 still listening and loving in 2012. Hearing this and remembering how good the live scene was back in the day Im so glad I grew up when I did.
