At the time when garage music was transitioning into many sub-genres and the garage 'sound' was becoming darker and more about the MC's (late 90's into early 2000's), this new style of garage was being called many different names (2step, 4x4, UK funky, breakbeat, urban etc). Wiley was very consistent, his music was very unique and people went mad for it. He began calling his music 'Eskibeat' (Wiley aka Eskiboy). That's why most of his earlier instrumentals are named Eskimo, Snowcat, Igloo, Ice Cream Man, Snowman, Morgue, Ice Rink etc. Eskimo being one of the most influential instrumentals that changed the garage scene into Grime, following the 8bar beat pattern.* *Now that I've explained this, listen or react to Wiley 'Wot Do You Call It?'.
