It's all wonderful! I've cringed at old work, but it reminds me of good memories too. My old sketchbooks are mostly from art classes so I cherish them. Thanks for sharing. I've enjoyed DTT for a couple of years now. Thanks for posting.🙂
Thanks for sharing! I loved seeing your beginning drawings. They are amazing! I go from sketchbooks to drawing paper, right now. Thanks for the reminder not to compare. I am part of a group of ladies that meet every Monday night. We use colored pencils for our drawings. They are so talented, sometimes I feel out of place. I have to remind myself that they went to art school and I did not. ❤
So grateful for this tour, Koosje, probably the best I've ever seen to be honest - although it may not feel the same to you - as it's given me enough motivation to keep drawing when I can. You should look back at it with fond memories and as a reminder indeed that every single one of these drawings have led you to where you are today. Loads of the drawings in that sketchbook are just awesome!
Thank you soooo much for sharing Koosje, you’ve given me the omph to keep going. The other day I drew a scene from a cafe I was at. I wasnt brave enough to sketch there but took a photo for reference and drew it at home. It turned out okay, Im back on track! 😊🥰xxx
Oh wow...love those drawings. Thank you for sharing your beginnings! They give me courage to try drawing people especially the different postures. I knit too. ❤
Lately...I have been painting with thread, instead! Embroidery is coming along nicely. I am also fixing my biker Honey's cut...which is a great honor. Doing leather work as well. I have an itch to do pen & ink soon...I'm still drawing...but learning other inter-woven talents as well. Thank you for sharing. Makes me feel not quite so bad about my progress as well. It's a journey, a process...& takes time. We should be doing what we love. I'm still into sketching, drawing, etc.
Very brave to share BUT still amazing results, inborn talent is for real and you got some of it.....that said, your continued work and curiosity over years have produced examples seeded encouraging growth possibilities for all of us.....
I think I’m not going to add anything here but it is so inspiring to see your progress. You clearly had talent from the beginning but to see how much you have grown and the ease in the way you express your current work make these things seem possible! I’m so glad that I found your channel!
Very inspiring. I’ve been doing En Plein Air / oil painting off and on since 2004. Your sketch book ideas and inspirations has added a real spark back into my practice. I’ve enjoyed the wash and line experiments. I feel I’ve moved off of landscapes - and where it’s going .. is unsure but I’m following where the joy and excitement leads me. I am very grateful you’ve decided to be so disciplined and dedicated to your sketchbook drawing and sharing with us. I usually only used my sketch book to work out my pre-painting composition, value studies and work out color pallet. Now -- there is new life in them thanks to you.
Looking at those drawings seems to be a real challenge for you. Sure you've completely changed your approach to drawing and your style, too. But for me the drawings are at least respectable, very often also nice and lively. Why not "sketchy" since this was meant as a sketchbook, a space for experimenting, trial and error ?! Thank you for showing, and be proud of yourself for your dedication to drawing. ❤️
Not a real challenge, but just… from a long time ago. My style has changed and so have I. I never really look back much, I like looking forward. I guess that’s the cringy feeling the video shows.
You have come a good ways forward. Your works today are obviously much better. I wonder what your work will look like in an additional 16 years? -OkieSketcher1949
