Hey Everyone!
Today's sketch is of a farmer's market I sometimes drive by. I just love the turquoise green roof, and was happy to sketch it.
It's been a little over a month since I even sketched, and I think I'm finally coming out of my yearly slump, and I'm thankfully feeling invigorated to create, instead of the tired lackluster feeling i've been having. Another bonus was that whilst sketching this piece my headache disappeared.
Despite the usual hiccups I usually find myself encountering every time I try and film a painting, I left feeling happy with what I'd achieved.

I like the way you shortened the building. I always feel I have to draw exactly what I see so I'm glad to see I don't have to. Thanks for sharing! Nice sketch. It has a lot of energy.

Thank you so much 😀 I used to feel the same way that I had to copy everything I saw, and exactly how I saw it. It was so limiting. I started having a lot more fun when I realized I could sketch how I wanted, and what I wanted!

Hi Kate. I was practicing this farmers market but I did have the correct color for the turquoise roof. What did u use? Also I did not make the roof large enough but it was fun to do and learn new techniques. I love your loose style. Hope u do more videos! You are my favorite urban Sketcher! Thanks!

I love love love your urban sketching, but I know you are fabulous at portraits and I love the style and finished portrait of all you do. I wonder if you might consider doing a watercolor portrait class?

Very nice! I seem to always draw flowers, but I’m trying to expand into Urban Sketching. It doesn’t help that I live in frozen Northern Michigan! Not much “urban” around here. 😊

Ty! I completely understand. I sometimes go through a phase of not wanting to sketch the buildings, so a nice tip is to do some thumbnails of the landscapes, or things you do see where you are. It's still totally interesting for people who don't get to see that! I also often find that the buildings are quite square and boring here in FL, so I struggle to get the "urban" thing too...I also seem to have an aversion of including people! Ha!

Oh my gosh! This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you Kate. I love how you went ‘slap-happy’ with the viridian, so many artists are timid with it. I’m now going to watch ALL your other videos as I’m just starting my urban sketching journey and your style has struck a chord ❤️

Thank you! On the one hand I love it because I feel cocooned, but on the other I hate it because I feel like I can't splash paint around for making a mess! I did get a few splashes, but tidied it up quickly lol!
