That's a large amount of blues. is that typical for your palette or unique to this scene because of the water and sky? great video; i'd love to see more!
@marcobucci

I find different blues to be extremely useful for mixing grays, and having lots of blues is typical of all my various palettes. I didn't talk about grays in this video - but they're discussed a lot here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gwLQ0cDb4cE.html

Wow, I love how you didn't feel the need to put color everywhere, leaving a blank space between the background and the foreground, it helps with the focus on the boats. I would never have thought about that, your videos are invaluable to leanr watercolor, thank you

That focus thing kinda reminded me about how dreams could actually be like. When you're dreaming, u only remember the focus u had in the dream. Actually, I guess that's the same while conscious. We have this "attention filter" when we see things, and I think this is close of what we see and remember of things. It's like a visual representation of a memory. That's cool :)

Really wonderful video .. perfect timing for me , as I tend to do exactly what you were illustrating in the beginning sentence .. I find it almost just like a habit to lose the focus of the painting and overwork it all.. thank you soooo much!! Congrats on your 100,000 , too... by the way I purchased your “ small world” book and I just love it !!! I left a review for it on your site .. Funny how the moment you added the masts in, I immediately thought, “I liked it better when it’s simple.” Then at the end of the video you came back to that exact point and iterated on it. We both came to the same conclusion. I love just how conscious and critical you are of your work process at every stage, and don’t mind relapsing in a meaningful way. I know I don’t paint like this at all; I always want my emotions and mood to inform my artistic judgement above all else. But that’s why your art appeals to me; it has a certain craftsman’s quality that make it feel so compelling and well researched. (That sentence probably didn’t make much sense but whatever!)
