SketchUp: I can't move my component the way I want 

Super cool, thanks! I've been using SU for 20 years & this is the first time I've learned about "glueing"!! This INSTANTLY solved much frustration! TYVM! I've run into this before with no clue, arrrg, probably deleted my model & started over! lol

even after 15 years since first time has uploaded , still helped me and was useful. Thanks

Spent half an hour raising a fucking water butt 1 metre off the ground... still had to explode the thing then re-make it into a component as it was one of those components that came with a comparison guy standing next to it which threw off the reference point completely so when you grabbed it, it was never grabbed where you wanted it. And even then I had to delete it and re-paste it twice so that it was grabbing the water butt by the corner, and not by some other random point. Grr...
