Cut a cork bark piece to make it fit in a small one 😉

I just bought an extra cork tube and I broke it into like 20 smaller pieces for sling enclosures lmao

@@tarantula-man The usual bark pieces you get are large AND thick. I have plenty of cork bark here that is like an inch thick. Unless I get into woodworking, It won't be used any time soon... most likely.

If you look closely, the lid actually lays flush against the jigsaw part when fully open, hopefully blocking any escape attempts. If it becomes a problem, then I'm sure it's nothing a little piece of tape can't take care of.

@@effy_kujo Not sure you understood the mechanics of what I was describing. The lid is held in place by an oblong "axle" that protrudes into corresponding circular holes in the side panels. Such a small spider can easily squeeze through the gap between the axle's oblong edges and the hole's circular edge. A piece of tape would solve the problem, but that's still a serious vulnerability when dealing with venomous animals; one escape is too many. Another solution would be to simply not keep such a small spider in this type of enclosure -- but this specific spider isn't even that small for this size of enclosure! The only real solution would be to change the design of the lid so that the axle is also round, filling the hole entirely (or, to slightly save materials, just the bottom half of the hole).

@@effy_kujo LOL he addressed it in tonight's video - a spider did in fact escape, and he did "fix" the problem by putting tape on the hole. xD

@headrockbeats I understand better, and omg, haha! Was he able to catch the escapee? Which spooder was it? Hope it's ok. This is the best time for him to figure these kinds of things out so he can address them with the maker & tweak the design before he puts them on his website. I really hope he's able to find it 😰

Computer vacuum for the slings should be gentle enough to suck them up without hurting them & then just release outside. Cup momma & bring her out as well.
