SO SAD that Erik had to leave the band...I'm just grateful that I got to see him live with Skid Row in 2023. He was DEFINITELY the BEST singer they have had since Bas! Wishing Erik all the best, and hopefully he will be fronting Skid Row again sometime!
Just when I thought Skid Row was down for the count, this guy comes along. From a longtime fan from back in the 1980s who thought that there was no Skid Row without Sebastian, I am happy to say that Skid Row is definitely back. Glad they persevered and finally located the missing ingredient after all these years.
-I've been listening to Skid ROw since 18 and Life came out. Literal goosebumps right now. I loved Solinger live, but he couldn't have pulled this one off like Erik just did. Latin American tour, please!!!
@@anitalane3736 sorry was trying to be politically correct and not call him a Viking... He's got just enough Nordic in his voice... Is that better @Anita...
@@anitalane3736 the Swedes are considered Nordic people along with Denmark,Finland,Iceland and Norway it's a Nordic culture they're all considered Norwegian countries so do you wanna continue making yourself look stupid or we could just stop here... I mean because I can continue but maybe you'd might wanna maybe open a book or google something before you fuck with someone on the internet...
Yup, I'm happy to continue, considering I'm Norwegian. You are correct, they are all Nordic countries. People from each of the countries are not known as Norwegian though. As I said before, people from Sweden are Swedish, people from Denmark are Danish, people from Norway are Norwegian and so one. Oh and the countries collectively are known as Scandinavia. You're welcome.
You know, Sebastian Bach was insanely good...so much so that his voice was synonymous with the bands name but I have to say that #1 this singer did a great job. #2...that guitar solo has so much emotion it's unreal. I think this guitarist is soooo underrated. He's incredible.
This song was always a force of nature even during Bach's time but the way Erik sings it with respect and at point is simply phenomenal! It just shows how great a singer he is! Amazing!!!!
Fantastic job and great to see the band back where they should be...on top to the rock music scene ....P.S.> Scottie...plz get out that "slipknot" wear and get back with band in style...the new album cover was great and lets see more of the "jeans, t-shirt and con on the feet". Skid Row is back and Eric is a full on member for the cause. Nothing but respect and love.
Wonderful "Preformance." In all seriousness though. Eric sounds better live that Baz ever did. That being said, I'd still like to see a reunion with Baz and Rob.
Absolutely…it’s fat as hell and smooth as silk. Other than the hands, what’s the secret to getting that “creamy” distortion? Is it mainly a humbucker pickup with the right EQ setting?
I am being dead serious when I say this: I understand he has a long career ahead of him and he is definitely saving his voice.......But man......I feel he is holding back quite a bit. I would LOVE to see him go full throttle on a song like this!!
I feel the band is holding him back. They’re phoning it in. I don’t feel their energy is there. Watch Erik on Idol his performances are more energetic.
@@kellyh6474 His stuff with his previous band H.E.A.T, too. He goes all out when he's given the opportunity. I'd love to hear him unleash his full power on more Skid Row music like he did with H.E.A.T.
October's Song has that kind of vibe to it.... There's more touches of the Slave to the Grind sound on this album then anything they've done since Sebastian being fired to where it at least sounds like Skid Row again... So when they write new songs with Erik's input and then use the same producer the next album will be even better...
Three songs I simply can’t separate IN A DARKENED ROOM , WASTED TIME and QUICKSAND JESUS all three of these songs is better than the other two - absolutely classic
This is kind of like a really good karaoke performance. He hits all the right notes, sings on key, and sounds just vaguely familiar….but not quite the same. Scotti still sounds amazing though.
..SONG OF THE DAY!!!
He's very good but he's no Bach sorry. Bach had crazy energy/emotion and rawness to him. They need to make new music that will give him a chance to leave his own mark. It's just too hard being compared to Bach in his prime.
They did make new music, new album came out in Oct. 2022, and they do a few songs from it in concert. Live album recorded at their London gig coming out in April. After Erik joined two years ago, they atarted writing pretty quickly for the next album, with Erik co-writing too.
This guy did ok, but these songs don't have the emotion to him like they do Sebastian. He's a good singer don't get me wrong, just missing the emotion to go with it
Indeed, years have passed and Sebastian’s voice is not rhe same, his style is very demanding and aging is just an inevitable thing for him and everybody else… but two aspects to consider, i d would take him anyday over this guy regardless of the limitations he has and secondly only time will tell how this dude will sing when he gets to his mid 50s . The recordings and performances with original skid Row’s lineup are testimony of how great they were together… but then life hapoens… even with his out of shape voice the original is the original… some musicians are impossible to replace… think of Ratt, motley, etc… clearly their voices a gone but the persona remainds and transcends everything
@@Rhine_Labs LOLLLLLLL well then look up him in his prime singing this. FUCKING blows this away. Guess what, news flash, Erik will get old too. He is awesome but this song is Baz's and nobody can sing it like he did when he was in his 20's
@8907 Sing it like he did, you mean pitchy and off key? He was often pitchy and off key back then. I'm sure Erik COULD sing it pitchy and off key, but why should he when he can actually do the songs justice like this. Don't get all butt hurt now, Baz was only good on record and couldn't duplicate it live. Erik on the other hand is just as good live as on record, but if nobody can sing it like Baz did back then,....I beg to differ Erik can sing it pitchy and off key if he wanted to. Btw I've seen videos of him back in the day and he definitely doesn't blow this away!
@@jaymea8907I've seen every live video of skid row from Sebastian's golden area and none come close to the studio versions. Erik comes much closer, it's like what I always dreamt of seeing Bach doing live and never found. Just watch yourself again.
Yesyesyes NOT Sebastian is a good thing. Sebastian sounds awful now strangling the high notes like he does, or haven't you heard him lately? Yesyesyes Skid Row are back!
@@shellybean9 no I haven't heard him lately. This guy is good don't get me wrong. I'm an old school die hard from the beginning Skid Row fan. We are not the same.... but hey, you're entitled to your opinion
@isaputra9637 Keywords when he was young. He was often pitchy and off key live too, so there's that. You think Erik sounds like he's taking a poop, that's ok then, because him and Baz have something in common now....Baz sounds like he took a crap on the songs he used to sing so well. This isn't 30 years ago. I don't understand also, (for the other reply), how someone who hasn't heard him lately can judge Baz and Erik and they are obviously going on 'what they remember him sounding like', he doesn't sound like that anymore. That's only my opinion.
@@Rhine_Labs Bingo. The vocalist is the sound , you shouldn't even try to replace them. If you're going to do that you should rename the band and never play the old songs that the original vocalist was known for.
Sadly the pathetic tribute are better in some cases then the Decrepit old people trying preform to their 20 year old self they just cannot do it. Some find their new voice some dont. Sebastian's new stuff is good in its own rip off way . Somebody doesn't know the definition of a tribute band. Three original memebers doing songs they wrote, so no not a tribute, which would be a band doing songs someone else wrote. Sebastian on the other hand IS doing songs someone else wrote. Js
No like no, that just hurts my ears, just NO. Sing tiktiktik tik boom as much as you like Do not touch holy ground, this is like so painful i had to turn it off quickly
This is the second comment i see of yours in a row, i think you have a problem here or u are just trying to hid the fact that you like this version lol?
@@Rhine_Labs yes but Bach is getting older this dude is 20 years younger than Bach I seen them twice in the early 90's and Sebastian Bach was incredible one of the best front men in metal history
@@Thuhtffffff exactly dude I seen them when they was touring and opening for Bon Jovi and blew them plum off the stage wasn't long after that the tour ended because Jon Bon Jovi was jealous 🤣
