The power ballad "I Remember You" from the third and final single from Skid Row's 1989 eponymous debut album. Skid Row opened for Guns N' Roses at Wembley Stadium, London, UK on August 31, 1991.
My fellow generation X ers! I’m so sad 😞 this is our reality now! We rocked the life! We are all still together within this song. Whatever happens be there for each other and don’t lose hope! Don’t lose hope! I love all my latchkey friends!
I played pool with Sébastian in 1989 at a bar called The Button South in North Miami Beach he asked me to play an I didn't even know who he was. All the women thought I was his friend. Haha yes I got lucky that night. Thanks brother.
@@radiansthecomplementtodegr8006 when some girls came up to me and said, Are you friends with him? An I said, I don't know who he is and one of them said, He's from Skid row an I said, that's to bad,she why is that bad? I said, you just told me he's from skidrow.i thought she ment he's living on the streets. Haha true story. But him and me had such a fun time doing coke and drinking playing pool till 6am. That place was great for rock n roll bands to watch.
The next night I played hard with him. ALL NIGHT. HES A LITTLE CRAZY, BUT IT WAS CRAZY FUN. DIDNT LEAVE BY MYSELF BUT DIDNT KNOW IT AT THE TIME. KEPT MY SECRET PROBLEM TO MYSELF. HE WAS A VERY SWEET & GENTLE SOUL.
Who wants to return to 80's & given the chance leave right now?? I know I would by far the best decade of my life by a damn long shot being born in 1970. Love live 80's Rock & Roll!!
One of the most underrated singers in Rock and Roll. The man could hit the highest notes and slay the lowest. This was when Rock was mean and dirty. There was no auto tune and no bullshit..
He was trained early on an opera singing so that's probably why his voice is still good. -- He learn to sing from the diaphragm as opposed to screaming in the throat area .
Enough with this "back when" BS. I'm 53,I've seen a lot of kick-ass shows in my life and I'm not done, and there are plenty of performers who can sing their ass off even today. I'm not a huge Greta Van Fleet fan, but you can't deny their vocalist has one hell of a set of pipes. It's just that rock music isn't trendy these days, it's all about shitty hip hop. But there are still some good rock acts out there.
Can't listen to this song without recalling my dear departed fiancée (R.I.P. 2017) Never will be another woman even close to her. And I am okay with that.
I'm so sorry 😢. I lost my husband after 41years of marriage and this was our song....like you there's never going to be anyone 😔...and I too have been ok with that!!
Yes I'm here in 24 !!! Love it a Rocker being 66 but I'm still 21 & even a Grandma grew up in the 70's !!! I REMEMBER U !!! U GUYS ROCK !!! ❤❤🎶💜🎶MN FAN 🌟🌟😘😘🐇🐇🥂🥂👍👍
I was 14 years old in 1991 and Skid Row and Guns N’ Roses was my first rock concert. My older brother took me with him and some friends and I had a lot of begging and chores with straight A’s for my parents to allow me to go but it was so worth it! Still rock out to both bands and now my daughters do to!
@@maryegarrett1950 believe it or not the best talented muscians' no one comes close ..RUSH FIRST TIME I SAW THESE GUYS lol we went to windsor arena over night wanted to get first crack at ticket master at the arena skipped school friday lol we ended up 4 tickets in nose bleed tier c at cobo DETROIT ... WOW 16 YRS OLD DEC 2 1978 RUSH ..SAW 90@ of the great bandss that started in the 70's went into the 80's lol just some history
Sebastian was the greatest in my opinion. Beautiful. We all have a duty to show this to our kids so that proper music doesn't get diluted and all they know is rap crap!!!! Thank you Skid Row
Boy do I miss the days of Skid Row, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Metallica, Warrant, Ratt, Van Halen, GnR... and many more.. Those were the days where music was amazing and well written.
Well it's 2024 now... Never thought this world would change so much & not for the better. But this song & like other great songs, will Always be Fabulous!
His voice is just….AMAZING!!!! No auto tune, no lip syncing- just Sebastian doing what he does naturally! And looking SO hot while doing it!!! Man, I miss this era!!!!!! But I’m glad I got to experience a lot of it in person (when concert tickets weren’t $300). 😮 I’m totally an 80’s chick - and proud of it!!!!! ❤
One of the best concerts I ever went to. Nine inch nails, Skid Row and then G’n’R at the height of their powers. I was 18, just left school, life was good in 91
I maintain that '91 was the greatest year of all time! Subjective I know but there is a case to be made. Admittedly I was 8 but even looking back... Just Google albums and films from 90-91. Simply incredible
Yes !!! I’m 44 now and he is still fine as hell to me at this time . Now he isn’t very good looking anymore. But damn was he’s fine back then !!!! This was and still is my favorite song of all times.
my wife was watching gilmore girls, when i saw him i was screaming like “that’s sebastian! that’s sebastian!” and that look on my wife’s face, “who?” i said nevermind then i sang this song in my head
I doubt that. Maybe they will look back on the era and think it was incredible but literally every 80s hair band looks and sounds the same. So no bands really stand out above any of the others.
@@lobsterboy8148 I think that’s true for the vast majority of hair bands, but Skid Row wasn’t just another hair band. Sebastian Bach had one of the most stunningly incredible voices in all of rock history, and they were quite a bit heavier than most of the hair bands on MTV at the time. Not to mention Bach’s sheer size and his looks. They were the real deal, which is why it’s perfect that they toured with another of the greats, Guns ’N Roses.
It makes me yearn for high school and seeing the smoking hotties walking around in their tight jeans through the school hallways. Chilly Friday night football games. I would have been going into my sophomore year in the fall of 1991. What a time. The big hair band era was creeping toward the ledge. We didn't know it at during the summer of 1991, but within months a song called "Smells Like Teen Spirit" would forever flip the music scene into its head. Also, an album called "Ten" was released at the end of August 1991 to little fan fair. But, within the year the world belonged to Nirvana and Pearl Jam and the big hair bands have never been on top since.
Scotti Hell was ridiculously good. So was Snake. The solos on the first record are legendary. What a fucking show! This is how it’s done! And to think right before G N fucking R went on during the Use Your Illusion Tour! Man I would pay $3000 to see travel back in time just for this show alone!!!
I've seen most of the big groups live. Motley Crue, Ozzy, Dio, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Scorpions, Metallica, Gun 'n Roses, Of all the groups, Sebastian and Snake blew my mind the most, Rob Halford was amazing but Sebastian was the most talented singer, hands down.
He doesn't hit it here, but that one note at the end of the final chorus in the studio version is perhaps the single finest display of rock vocals I have ever heard, from the tone, to the duration, to the phrasing, to the pitches, to the power, to the very end of it. Just stunning.
I have ALWAYS had it for Sebastian Bach !!!!! He’s was SO SEXY FINE !!!! LOVE HIS HAIR , SO F’N FINE !!!!! This is one of my most favorite song ever !!!!! I’ll always love it !!!! 80’s FOREVER 🤘🏼
This is perhaps the most majestic power ballad ever written. I tell you, when Sebastian Bach's voice is under control, he shows off his incredible vocal gift that is virtually unmatched in rock history. There are few male singers who have his natural vocal ability and powerful range. I have seen a few live performances on video where he tended to lose discipline and overdo it, getting a bit off key. But when he is on target, he is an incredible singer.
+Biggermack20 It's up for debate. Axl has much more raw power but Sebastian has a ton more technique. I think both are awesome. My personal top 3 tho goes like this: 1. Robert Plant 2. Axl Rose 3. Freddie Mercury.
I miss the rock songs back then where it always had a special part for the lead guitar.. Damn! It's all Metallica's fault for having this new generation rock musics suck
Not only badass onstage but off. I saw him jump off his amps and break his ankle at the end of the show in Indianapolis. Afterwards a bunch of us were standing by the tour bus and he came out using his 2 bodyguards as crutches. They were trying to shoo us away but Baz insisted on staying till he signed every autograph and talked to every fan standing there before he headed to the hospital.
Dam Sebastian was soooo HOT!!!!! The perfect rock front man... Amazing voice, stage charisma and drop-dead gorgeous looks with that 80's long hair!!! God I will always love Skid Row! Missing the 80's soooo bad! 🔥 🔥 🔥
@silent-reloader Scotti seems fairly humble these days. I can't say anything negative about any of them because I am less informed. I would however maybe see a show with only Sebastian or also one with Scotti, Snake, Bolan. If any of those other 3 are missing, it just can't work.
But I am now....my husband passed away recently after 41years together ❤️..he had a TBI and a broken neck after 360 days in the hospital..we saw Skid Row back in the day! Memories....
@@michellerutherford9551 Awe- thank you for your kind words 🙏 I always listen to Skid Row- especially I Remember You & the concerts we saw with them !!
